  • this movie is so sad man it will bring anyone to tears.....

  • @DogFather0808 I threw in another thumbs down, just for you :)

but really for the quality. I like this movie.

  • My favorite Christmas movie! Thanks! Merry Christmas to everyone!

  • The first time I saw this, I was a cynical 17year old brat. But it brought me to tears. Stilll does, occasionally. How could there be four people on this planet who would give this a thumbs down?

  • surely God smiled at this

  • This is also my favorite Christmas movie.

I relate to that manger scene because my wife left me and I never got over it.

But, I like to joke and call the movie, "FREDDIE KRUEGER'S CHRISTMAS"!

  • smithda1957 isn't kidding. I should know. He's my dad. Every Christmas, we sit down and watch this movie as a family. I always love every minute of it.

  • Every Christmas Eve I watch Its a Wonderful Life followed by this movie. Brings me to tears every time. I absolutely love Jimmy Stewart. Hands down my favorite actor.

  • i loved watching this when i was a kid. im glad that i found it. :)

  • i know that jimmy will have accepted the gospel, he lived an exemplary life, and for me i haev always felt he was a man of god.

he will be with his wife and family now and with all of my heart i thank him for the joy he has given so many in using his god given gifts to the world, i am a mormon

  • I love Jimmy Stewart and everything he does. And, this is my favorite Christmas show...and, have passed that love on to my 2 girls :) and will start working on my new granddaughter, who will watch this with me for the first time this year...at the ripe old age of 5 months old :) <3 <3

  • Hey I'm a 23 years old man and am not ashamed to admit that Jimmy Stewart tops my list of all time favorite actors. What can't he do? He's done just about every film genre possible with romantic comedies, mystery/suspense thrillers, westerns, dramas, and wonderful wholesome family/holiday films such as this one and not to mention, "It's A Wonderful Life"...... Oh, and if anyone else is interested in knowing who my two other favorite actors are; they inlcude Cary Grant and Gary Cooper.

  • I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I've always loved this movie. Jimmy Stewart was also one of my favorite actors. Thanks so much.

  • I live w/n some miles of Jimmys home town.I studyed and explored Jimmys life he was a true man of God w/ great faith. He loved Christmas and his family dearly. Jimmy also loved his animals and enjoyed many hours sharing his life w/ them. He was a true American w/ good morals and values when it came to being a role model for his family & TV. Jimmy and his wife Gloria were a real couple and Jimmy did not live long after her dead. His last words were "I'am going to be w/ Gloria now " and he died.

  • I don't know why 15 year olds teens like me watch this film. I think it's better than the usual Hollywood Christmas films.

  • I didn't know Jimmy Stewart was mormon....weird.

  • @BrainCandy11

Nah, just a role for a tv movie. Actually he was a devout Presbyterian but from what I've read he did enjoy the mormon tabernacle choir (who are quite good.)

  • Great Christmas movie by the late, great, Jimmy Stewart, who seems to me to be one of the most humble movie stars to have ever lived.

The scene with baby Jesus makes me weep like a baby, in both love and conviction. Stewart's monologue to baby Jesus is both a mark of his great acting, but real passion and conviction too. You can tell he means every word he is saying. A salt-of-the-earth.

  • I like to joke and call it, "Freddy Krueger's Christmas".

  • This is my favorite Christmas movie.

I'm embedding it on my web site, OUR ETERNAL STRUGGLE.

I know the little girl's family, for her uncle and I served together in Viet Nam.

  • One of my all time favorite Christmas movies. Short, but it does not take long to convey the message of Christ. He loves all of us more than we might ever know. While unknown to many, this film in my opinion is the capstone of Mr. Stewart's career - to give such a touching message and one with such meaning - the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you Mr. Stewart and thank you the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  • Goof @ 16:37... you can see a man standing in the apartment folding his arms behind the lamp.

Every great movie has its goofs.

  • What an incredibly sweet show! It reminds me of the old "Freddie the Freeloader" (Red Skelton) Christmas skits. Thanks for sharing.

  • Best Christmas movie ever....

  • Did anyone notice the name of his deceased wife? Wasn't Martha the name of his wife in It's a Wonderful Life?

  • @GibKids5 It was Mary in IAWL, but I still love both.

  • This was my first time hearing about or watching this film. Glad I found it. Without a doubt, I will look forward to watching it every Christmas season now. Very moving and thought provoking.

  • Although I have a copy of this, I stumbled across it here and had to watch. It always tugs at my heartstrings.

    I love this movie.

With Christ by our side, we are rich beyond our wildest dreams. Merry Christmas everyone.

  • Anyone who dislikes this film probably doesn't like life very much either. God Bless Jimmy Stewart !

  • i thought freddy krueger from nightmare on elm street would show up

  • This is our family's favorite Christmas movie. The nativity scene is beautiful. We watch this every Christmas Eve. It makes me sad that more people don't know about this beautiful film.

  • What a good lesson when he gets the money in the hat, then gives it to the Salvation Army.

  • I have been looking for this movie for years. When I was growing up in Nova Scotia, Canada, they played it every year on Christmas Day. I looked forward to it every year, this and 'It's a Wonderful Life'

  • At minute 11, the caroler that is Clarissa's mother... she was my drama teacher in high school!

  • although a short flim, it makes you stop and think what Christmas is all about. soft and tender in every way! service and giving

  • I had never seen this one before - but I love it - thanks for posting it!

  • I'm an Athiest but I love this film.

  • I tried to upload this one but It was too long for my windows media maker... :(

  • TheLDSLife . . .

Try my "three part" upload of "Krueger." It is also in HD.

  • Thank you for that.

I favorited this on my other channel.

    Josh (aka TheLdsLife)

  • I have also been very hardened by life and my experience(s) at different churches but it never fails! Everytime I watch this movie I end up in tears. This has been an extremely difficult year. Thank God for Christmas!!

  • "don't talk to the filthy janitor."

  • I first saw this back in the mid 80's on Armed Forces Radio and Television Service when I was stationed in Germany. 25 years later I watched it again on here and it still makes me cry. Me and God haven't always been on speaking terms, but like Jimmy's character says "You were always with me" I give kudos to the Mormon Church for making such a wonderful movie. I am hoping to get a DVD copy so I can share it with my family. Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

  • Mr Krueger's Christmas is avalible at the LDS distribution center on DVD.

  • Thank you for posting this. I first saw it about 25 years ago when I was in college, and its poignant message brought me to tears then....I've wondered about this and looked for it on TV at Christmastime ever since with no luck. I looked for it in stores and asked others about it. No luck until now.......Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful, pure, and much needed jewel. God bless you and Merry Christmas.

  • The message of Mr. Kruegers Christmas is timeless and applies to all ages. We are in fact here on earth to learn a selfless love one for another. As Gordon Jump said in Mr. Kruegers Christmas I love you; thats what Christmas is all about. Clarisse said it to Mr. Krueger. Mr. Krueger said it to Jesus and Jesus in so many ways has said it to all of us. We show love for Jesus by selfless love one for another. The move story line is simple and easy to understand

  • I wonder how many people think about all the Mr Kruegers everywhere who spend their Christmas in their basement apartment minus the magical events that became part and parcel of his Christmas eve.

  • I'm a grown man, hardened from life . . . and yet, I'll freely admit that I cry like a boy every time I see this movie. I stumbled over it on an local TV station many years ago - I had no idea that Jimmy Stewart had done another Xmas related movie (other than IAWL). Mr. Krueger seems so sad and lonely. But the scene where he speaks with baby Jesus in the stable, thanking him for being at his side during his whole life - it gets me every time, and makes me count my blessings too. A great film.

  • I was one of the smiling male dancers in this film. My kids kind of tease me today whenever they see this. "Their dad in a baby blue polyester jumpsuit". Jimmy Stewart was a grand gentleman and great to work with. What a great experience for me and all that were in this film. I have evolved into new dimensions in my life as you can see me again on You Tube under Dr. Blaine Chambers.

  • lol i thought this would be a horror film wtf lol

  • True story.. I use to write Jimmy Stewart when he was alive. I told him that I liked this movie. He wrote back and said that he had a copy of the movie but gave it to his family. He said he had been trying to get another copy for years. I knew someone with the morman church in Utah and got them to get me a copy. I sent it to Jimmy S. and he sent me a thank you letter and autographed picture. He was glad to receive the tape again. I show this to my kids and they still like it and we all cry

  • Thanks 'smithda1957' for sharing your James Stewart Story...

I also value this little movie- cry everytime I see Nativity scene...( I love Jesus Christ too! )

I've have been fortunate enough to have visited HIS Hometown Museum in Indiana Pa- Western PA-- much like Bedford Falls!

  • @smithda1957 awesome i just love this man and always will. what a wonderful thing you did for him.

  • @smithda1957 What a lovely thing you did, God bless you for that, I have always loved Jimmy and never had the courage to write to tell him so, now it is too late, but I am happy someone reached out to let him know how much he was loved and appreciated by his fans. :-) Yes this has been my favorite Christmas movie and I have searched for it for so long and glad I found it. God Bless you Jimmy you are missed.

  • Thanks for posting... this was a childhood favorite of mine. I just cried for 25 minutes!

  • Does anyone know whether Mr. Krueger's Christmas appeals to today's children (pre-school thru elementary?). Does it hold their attention and capture their imagination or is it too slow for them? Trying to determine whether to order it for children's viewing. Thanks!

  • My daughter is three and she loves this because of the music and dancing.

  • thank you for posting this.. this was one of my all time favorites as a kid.. it brings back good memories of me and my mom watching this.. thank you=) merry christmas =)

  • We still have that record somewhere. Aww the memories.

We would go look at the lights at the temple in LA, See the nativity, watch this movie, then go eat at Tommy Burgers on Christmas Day night. Memories.

  • I wish they made more movies like this =)

  • jimmy jimmy your a real star..........

  • I just purchased this on DVD @ Amazon. Can't wait to get it!!

  • Thank you,for posting this.

  • Does anyone know whether or not this is out on DVD? We need these types of movies brought back, to allow others to see what Christmas is *all* about.

  • Yes it is on dvd i dont know if youre mormon but i was looking through a catalog taht had a whole bunch of lds stuff in it and i seen this videa thats how i found out about it

    hope this helps

  • Thanks so much, it does help a lot. I'm not mormon--am a Christian-- and have been looking for this since I last saw it on TV, in the late 80's. I never saw it on TV again, after that. It disappeared with all the specials that say what Christmas is all about--Jesus Christ-- only to be taken over by the Santa Claus/fantasy stuff.

  • God Bless You for putting this up. [2]

    Wonderful ~> just wonderful!!!

  • I LOVEE this movie, I haven't seen it in at least ten years!

  • Thnak you for posting this.I remember watching this one Christmas and it still brings tears to my eyes. The times different back then, today you would not see a movie like this at Christmas. Our culture is headed downhill, but at least we have the memories of our childhood. Thank godones for Youtube,. so we can all releive our happier days .

  • This is what Christmas is all about! Jesus is No. 1 and Jimmy Stewart is not too far behind Him. This was absolutely wonderful.

  • I do not see this on TV much anymore, and that's a shame. More generations should see this. It's an extremely moving story that embodies Christmas.

  • What a wonderful man Mr. Jimmy Stewart. Rest in peace my dear friend, and a Merry Christmas to you.

  • God bless you for putting this up. I've loved this since it came out in the Eighties...that scene where he's talking to the Baby Jesus always makes me cry! I miss you, Jimmy, and I'll always love you.

  • It was tradition for my family to watch this movie every year when I was young at home. Sweet movie. So humbling.
