  • Nice video! But I'm getting a bit of unwanted noise in my headphones on the louder, higher notes.

  • Faure inscribed this nocturne "in memoriam Noemi Lalo" and it may be called an elegy or lament. I am unable to find any info about her and would appreciate it if anyone knows her (presumed) relation to the composer (Edward Lalo). Dover has an inexpensive edition of the complete Nocturnes and Barcarolles, and they are at imslp.org. (free download) All are unjustly neglected gems.

  • Wow ...

I'm discovering Fauré which i only knew by name and his piece called Pavane (what a shame for a French guy like me...) and this piece is so astonishing and incredible. You play it so well Ryan ... You brought tears to my eyes.

I fully agree with dpslm, those final harmonies are so touching ... I'm speechless, really ...

If you know other pieces similar to this tell me !

  • i'm working on the 4th nocturne, a more "romantic" one maybe; there are still very difficult passages. I have never read this 11th; ill have a look at it; thank you!

  • Great job! I'll be looking on here often for tips; I was assigned this piece for the spring semester!

  • Wow, what a piece. Excellent job! Those final harmonies in the 16th notes at the end are outrageous. What to make of them? Comforting or a final welling up...?
