  • I very much enjoyed this. Too many try to emulate Henley's singing style instead of staying true to their own leanings. Your adaption of the song is great. Thanks for sharing.

  • Nice work!

  • could you send me the tabs/chords plz :D

  • i search thru most of the covers of this classic n u sir do the best ... from one artist 2 another very very good

  • @stompin74 Many thanks! Am surpsied Mr Henley ahs not yet asked me to take it doan (as was the case with my major cover success of 'Desperado'!)

  • Write your own songs and be heard.

  • @salinagrrrl69 I do and I am and am a UK songwriting finalist and suport major artists but thanks for caring :)

  • Nice cover man! Very good playing!!

  • Smooth Cover!! ^_^

  • Great job! Excellent!

  • Nice version. I'm working on this song also and think Henley's lyrics are excellent.

    Armchair warriors often fail,

and we've been poisoned by these fairy tails.

Somewhere back there in the dust, that same small town in each of us.

Simple but clear and to the heart.

  • Are tabs available for this?

  • amazing

    i love this song

    best cover ...

  • Great voice and equally nice playing, man...thank you.

  • You're welcome :)

  • Excellent version !! Phalaïna

  • =O that was awesome!! man nice very nice, u played and sounded awesome. great job!! can u teach me? lol

  • fantastic job!

  • Yes Sir, great job.

  • Well done sir, well done.

  • First off, amazing on the gee-tar my friend. Secondly i like this version. It's kind of like Bob dylan's voice meets Tom petty's, had a baby voice, and it was given to you. Have you been told you sound likle Dylan

  • Wow, I think this is the only cover of this song on youtube that can compare to my brilliant interpretation.

  • you are amazing with guitar.

  • Good version!

  • Nice version. Search for "jeff bryant innocence" and check out his version of this song. Somewhat slower with more fingerpicking than this one - both are very good.

  • Wow we are from Brazil I am from Recife and I have never seen anything more beautiful than this... Yes very well played With feelings and all I really liked it...

  • great sound have u heard james taylors brothers version/// do u know what tuning he is using

  • Well that's good then! Pleased to be of service. Good luck. If you can find it, get hold of John Peirce's (Pearce?) 'Hold Down A Chord' course - will be about 40 years old now but it got me started - and without ever using a pick :)

  • you have just inspired me to pick my guitar back up. I have given up so many times, but would love for one day to be able to pull something like that off. Thanks!

  • Yes Alex - I agree - the DADGAD version with raised pitch is indeed better.

  • Mark: try with a capo on 2nd o 3rd fret, I thik it'll suit your voice better...

    Anyway, great version!

  • Your guitar playing is freaking out of this world. That's awesome. I'm favoriting this. I wish I had a guitar like that. They make beautiful music.

  • The intro is especially awesome. Just wanted to add that. LoL. So pretty. I love this song so much!!!

  • Thanks! The Ovation is great for the rockier stuff. Surprising amount of depth and sustain for shallow bowl. I have my eye on a 12 string Martin for 2008 too.

  • Ovation? hmmm. Didn't know they could sound that good. Most Ovations I have played were heavy with the tremble. Kinda impressive sound. Good playing too. You have the same problem I have, you have to sing an octive low on that tune. Hard to sing Henley's stuff without having an operation. LOL.

  • Indeed! There's also a more recent alt. version on the EKO in DADGAD in my list ... somewhere.....

  • That was awsome! This is my favorite Don Henley song as well. Since it was really good, I put it in my favorites

  • Great! Many thanks.

  • This is my favorite song and this is a great cover. Its not the same as on the paino but you've more than done it justice. Thanks for not ruining it. I could just listen to this song over and over again and I doubt i'll ever hear a better song in my lifetime. Keep up the good work, James

  • Thanks James! That's really comforting. I keep waiting for someone to post a comment on any of my clips saying how bad it is! This is not a song I play very often at all in the main core of what I do but I'm actually using YT as a means to experiment with the more marginal stuff and which I'm finding useful.

  • Very Good!!:)

  • Nice job!
