  • I was there and it was a right bummer i can tell you, gutted isnt the word

  • Morrissey was well within his rights & Totally Justified ion walking off stage!

  • holy fuck. not cool on both ends.

  • I wish the person who threw the bottle the very worst for the rest of there miserable existence. My heart wept for the insult inflicted on Morrissey. We accept the love we think we deserve. Love and devotion for ever.

  • Morrissey is a pussy. I've been to hundred of shows, mostly alternative rock/pop and have seen way worse fan behavior. Beer bottles thrown on stage, loud fans during quieter songs, etc. Not ever have I seen an artist leave the stage and cancel the entire show because of it. All of these fans got f*cked over big time by Morrissey's pompousness.

  • morrissey deserves the hit, he's a bore.

  • I heve to problemmmmmm

  • it's impossible! i was happy to visit his gig in St.Petersburg, cant imagine how angry would I be if someone did the same then <_<

  • I think the bad memory of that night will stay fresh in my mind forever, ok so he had the same thing happen in Norway, but just put yourself in his position, it happens once well that's unfortunate, happens again that's it, finished, everyone has their limit!

  • The same thing happened to him a few weeks before this incident in Norway but he got the person thrown out and came back on....in the end so i`am guessing he was just at the end of his tether and also with just recovering from being ill. Don`t get me wrong though i was pissed off with him too and thought he should have come back on but that`s typical Morrissey behaviour for you, he`s turning into so much of a parody of himself it`s unreal!!

  • Glad i was!nt there to see a bottle thrown at morrissey - i saw him sing at madstock with bottles being thrown at him from madness fans - morrissey sang his sings then waved to his morrissey fans, then walked off !! morrissey ( forever) !! michael

  • god bless the person for throwing that. take a bow son

  • @r1ch1etheman haha I now visualise Andy Gray saying that

  • I was there that night, and couldn't believe mozza chose to punish thousands of people for one morons action. Of course he shouldn't have to put up with that, but he could easily have returned to the stage once the tool who threw the bottle was chucked out...

  • He would have been so upset by the incident that he would not have wanted to perform.

  • Typical arrogant, self absorbed d-bag! Morrissey screws his band mates, screws his fans and cheats old friends like Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke out of royalties. The fat, old, 'has been' forgets that when they were all dreaming of making the big time in early days. How could anyone love money so much. He's a dick! And he looks like Susan Boyle!!

  • what a big sissy!

    how unproffesional is that!

he should of just laughed it of and carried on. its a concert and he should expect that sort of thing could happen.

  • i would have done exactly the same...some disrespectful immature moron who ruined the show..

  • @mojopin70 I agree. He doesn't have to put up with that. But, it would have been classic if he first took a mouth full swig and then spit it at the fans before he left the stage.

  • whoever done that was a total gobshite. its great the way he wanted to touch his fans hands, u wont get many artists doing that! and some bellend throws a bottle at him. WHAT A WANKER

  • What a fuss. Wouldn't anyone else just have ignored it and carried on?

  • sigh

    this man is so amazing

    he doesnt deserve this

    !!

whoever did that to him, has no life

    Morrissey FOREVER!

    :D

  • I was at this gig and it seriously pissed me off then again i was at the p.i.l. gig in manchester on the 19th and someone showered john lydon in lager "you paid for that drink " he said "now be a man and fucking drink it" then a great night was had by all...

  • nice quality

  • I'm a big fan of Smiths/Morrissey, watch all the old Smith videos, he's being pulled about by fans, his clothes are being ripped off him, stage invasions, people throwing themselves at him etc so when I see this I get disapointed. Morrissey was above throwing a strop like this. Its a shame, but its got people talking about him.

  • Surprisingly, you do have a valid point. I remember a very early gig from Derby Assembly Rooms, when practically the whole audience came on stage and started singing and dancing with the band. There's a video bootleg available, you can probably see it on youtube as well. Have a look - Morrissey looks a bit confused, but doesn't act like he minds it at all. On the other hand, that's a different thing than being hit by a bottle.

  • The fact remains that it'll hurt more with having your audience jump around you than being *dink* on the head with a plastic bottle. But I see where your coming from.

Do you think that the Morrissey in the smiths would have aproved of this if it was another person?

  • hahaha he desrved it the cocky up his own arse shite singer hahahaha fkn halirious !

  • Mmmm maybe, but he's still Morrissey, and who are you?

  • who is Morrissey?

  • Morrissey is the one you've bothered to send a comment about. The more you ignore him the closer he gets.

  • Nice.

  • That's grim, mate.

  • The lad was from Birmingham because there was a facebook group about it, but it got deleted! So for all you ignorant wankers, it was not a scouser!

  • Why would anyone go to a gig to do that? We saw him at Manchester and fortunately there were no arsholes in the crowd, just appreciative fans. That guy should have been arrested for being a twat.

  • Funny!

  • did anyone get the twat?

  • I went to see this from Scunthorpe. After two hours in the car I was so excited and then this dickhead went and ruined it. I'm so glad Moz didn't come back on. It just made me love him more.

  • Living in LA for so long must have eroded all traces of anything resembling a bit of Dunkirk spirit from our Moz.

  • DAMN....you brits are going to have to come to the USA so we can teach you some manners...and how to use a toothbrush

  • Yeah lilpoindexter....like you did with John Lennon

  • lilpoindexter knows about music, just look at his favourites...Bonnie Tyler lmao probably a morbidly obese hick who couldn't point to his own country on a map.

  • @lilpoindexter Yeah? even though 65% of America live in poverty and your country has the biggest genocide records of all time. Bigger than the nazis. Manners? You know fuck all

  • he is the sissy version of axle rose

  • stupid guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-!

  • Reading these comments half of you are just wind up merchants and dont understand Morrissey or get his lyrics/music/style

Its not a Punk gig at Manchester Poly!! The moron throwing bottles at peoples heads has blown your £35 for you right down the drain.Stop whinging about it. Do you even understand the Man? He doesnt tolerate fools!! Why would scum like that pay to get in? It Beggars belief! This country is fucked! You're lucky Morrissey turned up!!

  • Yes we should thank The Lord above how honoured we all were Joyriser...we got our brass back by the way...The Arena refunded...jolly decent of them !!

  • Yeah I cant quite remember.

Was It you that laid down some brilliant tracks with Johnny Marr , or was it Morrissey? I seem to remember it was Morrissey but help me out if you can? Honoured..... yes I should think you were Most of the crowd had the common decency not to seek attention and show some level of respect for someone they paid to see.

  • Yet another creepy sycophant putting Moz on a pedestel....no wonder he's got mega delusions of Diva-rism......Yes and 99.99% of the crowd showed plenty of respect and deceny that night....and look how your hero re-paid them......spineless son spineless!!

  • Honest I just find all this funny! Thats what you get with Moz. You arent even a fan judging by your comments otherwise youd have some sympathy that he has to deal with idiots like he has done all his life if you ever bothered to read a lyric.

The spineless were the people round that twat who should have sorted it or hauled (it) out. Cant take you seriously....hey Leona Lewis is on down the road....shes used to being punched in the head...pop along there as you aint a Mozzer fan

  • ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz lol Joyriser try winding someone up whose wet behind the ears...yourself perhaps lol !

  • Yeah Actually Im only having a laugh...still got no idea why youre having a real go at him. Ok it was upsetting for the fans but blame the village idiot chucking stuff. You got your money back. I just get miffed that the crowd has kids in it who dont understand Morrisey. He doesnt need your money/your understanding and he doesnt have to put up with that. What you are saying is that he does and more. You are the wind up merchant...read what you have written.

  • Obviously none of you know Morrissey very well - You all must be newer fans. I remember Morrissey from the old days, and he's quite famous for walking off the stage and not coming back. So I don't understand why some of you think he's suddenly changed... he's always done this.

  • he's not rescheduling.

    cannot believe it.

i'm upset beyond words right now.

    x

  • Why would anyone be surprised about Morrissey not rescheduling....The guy lives in Morrissey World....did it occur to him that some people travelled 1000's of miles for this concert....that some people saved up in these troubled times so they could get to this gig....probably spent money they shoudn't have.....Of course Not....there's always the next gig hay Stephen...fuck'em..you wouldn't have minced off in the first place if you had a backbone or a heart !

    November spawned a Monster indeed!!

  • rael...do you like Morrissey or not? If you don't like him then don't buy his cds, download his music or pay to see him. If you do like him, blame the wingnut who spoiled it for everyone by throwing a bottle at the guy people came 1000s of miles to see. (incidentally, I doubt anyone came over from France or Spain just for the show. If they did, don't worry about their money.)

  • " (incidentally, I doubt anyone came over from France or Spain just for the show. If they did, don't worry about their money.) "

I can see why you think Moz did nowt wrong...there were two incidents the twat that threw the bottle and the twat that used it as an excuse to turn his back on the evening.

Incidently I love The Smiths and acknowledge Moz is our greatest Lyricist..but I'm not the type who admires someone to the point where I'll try and justify them acting like a precious prick !

  • Okay, since nobody answered it the first two times I asked, I'll sak rael directly... How much abuse does a musician have to take before he/she is allowed to leave the stage without anyone dissing him/her? Obviously a bottle/cup of beer or water isn't enough. So what is?

  • You don't get it do you mapache...no one should have to put up with anything should they...musician or otherwise...but if we all turned our backs evreytime there was confrontation the world would be run by criminals....If one customer in a bar causes trouble do you then refuse to serve the rest !!!

Morrissey is no different than the rest of Us so stop putting him on a pedestal !

  • I am not putting anyone on a pedestal. My question was, and I'm typing this slowly for you, where do YOU draw the line? A bottle of water/beer is okay with you. He should have shrugged it off and continued. What about eggs? Shit? Rotten fruit? If Morrissey were an accountant or veterinarian, or had any other occupation, (besides politician, who deserve shit being thrown at them), he could rightly quit his job and have the idiot who threw the bottle charged and nobody would blame him.

  • If he had told the crowd that he hated Liverpool, or the sound was shitty, then by all means show your displeasure. He was doing his job SHAKING PEOPLES HANDS and some knucklehead thought that it would be a great idea to hit him in the head. It isn't 1976 and he isn't Johnny Rotten.

  • Bars are places where trouble happens regularly. A guy doing his job trying to entertain fans, and being thanked for it by getting hit in the head is NOT analogous.

I have seen lots of singers get hit by things and keep going. That is their choice. I have also seen guys get hit and leave. That's their choice too.

  • Blah blah blah.....I draw the line at wimpy patronising nobheads on You Tube who keep trying to justify a guy turning his back on his 'real' fans when he got a 'little' yes mapaches 'A LITTLE WET'....ooooh where's my mummy ...yes he's got the right to walk off....and I've got the right to slag him off for being Wet in more than one sense....or is that nonsense ??? and you of course have the right to your opinion....lets agree we have differing view points.

  • You still didn't tell me when, in your OPINION, a musician is allowed to leave the stage without being called a pussy.

  • ZZzzzzzzzzzz.....blah blah blah....we're discussing what happened NOT what didn't....he got wet and in MY OPINION it didn't warrent pissing off like a two year old....everything else that Didn't happen (apart from in your empty head ) is not relevent....the line is drawn on THE FACTS....not THE FICTION in your head!

    Laters !!

  • Is it not in the realm of possibility that after getting hit in the head by the bottle, he thought something more dangerous could be next??

  • morrisey has changed

  • In what way?

  • It now says on the Arena website that they won't reschedule it and that refunds will be given out tomorrow.

  • To those that said that he should have continued...So what if we pay musicians by buying their music? That gives us the right to throw things at them??

How much abuse do musicians have to take before they can leave the stage without fuckwads like you saying they are pussies? Bottles, bricks, rotten fruit???

  • Scousers are getting a reputation for throwing things onto pitches / stages - remember the beach ball some idiot threw onto the Sunderland pitch ? Football eventually ricochets off it into the goal and Liverpool loses the match. Capital of culture?you're 'avin' a laff!

  • i would like to know why people who hate morrissey go on you tube and type his name in he is a legend and he deserves respect i have been a fan for 15 years and always will be

  • 90 % of you are Morrissey fools!!! He should have made a joke, got the guy removed, washed his face off, then rocked the house down!! But no... he threw a wobbler and let all his fans down!! You lot need to get a grip! He may re-schedule but is he gonna pay for wasted journey and possibly time off work for many people...doubt it!! Hes a loser who needs to learn who pays his wages!!

  • you're right, in hindsight he should have stopped the show, pulled the guy up to the stage, made him publicly apologize and then throw his rude arse out of the building.

  • you gotta love Morrissey for it...

  • I hope whoever did this to him was dragged behind the arena by the fans and had the crap beat out of them! I hate it when fans get too aggressive and ruin the concert for him and everyone else who paid good money to see a legendary artist.

  • morrissey is amazing

  • wow, whoever threw that bottle is a dunce. simple as that haha

  • lemmy of motorhead got a pint glass in the face 2 years ago in nottingham..he jumped in the crowd and leathered the twat who threw it then he got back on the stage and played for another 2 hours.........morrissey you whiney, indie twat--fuck off !!

  • How can you even try to compare Lemmy and Morrissey???

  • read the post then see if you can work it out you prat............

  • Was that directed to me? How am I a prat?

  • Comparing Motorhead to Morrissey is fucking stupid. Lemmy half EXPECTS people to throw shit at him. In fact he is probably disappointed when they DON'T. It gives him a good excuse to crack some skulls.

  • you know what morrisey is famous for. He used to be in a really good band with the band members as the driving talent.... now this.

  • nice try numbnuts, mozza was the smiths, worlds gr8est ever lyricist and always will be,maybe your head was really in a 69 while you typed this piss and wind up.

  • morrissey

  • great shot

  • morrissghey

  • shot

  • yes well done morrissey for walking off, he dont need that shit, total di8srespect and if the thuggish security cant deter that behavior then hard luck liverpool

  • which fucking cock would throw a bottle at morrissey ? He is one of the greats, why should he tolerate some twat throwing botles at him , this will give mozza a bad view of his fans !!!!!!!

  • Honestly, I also have the urge to throw things at my favorites (Morrissey, Maynard) when I see them live but it's only a kind of misdirected affection like biting people when I'm drunk..

  • {lol}~YOU DON'T DO THAT TO MORRIZZEY!

  • Morrissey really does attract some crazies, doesn't he?...

Netherless, I think it was unfair of him to punish all those who had attended because of one fool's actions.

Yes, he was disrespected... but he also showed a lack of respect for his true fans.

  • That is true but its morrissey he is quite obviously an emotional character what did the thick twat who threw it expect ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

  • who is the picture of behind morrissey?

  • After being right at the front and literally 2 feet away from the bloke who threw the bottle, I can say Moz was right to walk off. I wouldn't have taken that, so it's up to him if he wants to leave, as long as the thousands who behaved themselves got repayment/another concert.

  • please tell me that someone throttled the jackass who threw the bottle?

  • I fucking would've... there were two blokes who we thought it was, so we just left it. I'm pretty sure who it was though, and I remember his face... so if I ever see him again there will be blood.

  • As I was waiting to get my refund from the arena, I spoke to a woman who said she'd seen the guy who did it and managed to get a photo of him. Supposedly he was from Birmingham, and once they got him out of the pit, they just let him go.

  • Link me up to that photo mate... heads will roll

  • Surely only one head! Unless you're planning on harming innocent bystanders.

  • I expect he will have hired personal protection... he needs it.

  • jajajajaja

  • morrissey is old enough and mature enough to know it was just one idiot!

he should nt let down the other thousands of fans who pay his living!!!

  • It's being rescheduled!!!

  • really?

  • @paddymourinho Yeah, you can find it on NME (.com) website. Yet to be confirmed, but looks hopeful.

  • ahahahahahahah!

  • i dont blame him for walking off stage. Its fucked up that the real fans get shitted on for the antic. But nonetheless what the fuck is a hater doing at the show. stay the fuck home and listen to the balck eyed peas. for fucks sake!

  • "The more he ignores you, The closer you get, He's wasting your time"

  • DOINK .... goodbye hahahaha

  • morrissey did the right thing, to teach the motherfuckers a lesson.

  • i ment sequential

  • morrissey must be slightly of panchromatc infusion in nature.this may become sequental in forthcoming concerts for him

  • one stupid idiot, yep; morrissey. what a prima donna twat. he should have taken it like a man, and carried on for all those other people who PAID to see him. he needs to go back to rock school.

  • All these cancelled gigs and many others stopped in mid-set haven't stopped him being paid for most of them.

This rip-off is like the Pistols' record company waltz which netted them millions. Except that was fun, and we all enjoyed seeing the companies get had at their own game. Morrissey's version is a lot less elegant however because it's the fans who pay.

    Hope he's proud of himself.

  • Bravo Morrissey! Bravo!

  • That was just disrespecful. The man is just doing his job anbd an asshole throw him a bottled water???. This is why a man like Morrissey is the way he is. He has said that he doesn´t like people because of the way they are sometimes. I would've done the same and FUCK YOU to the smart ass who has the great idea of doing that. Obviously, he has no fucking idea who Morrissey is what band he used to play with.

  • Que babaquice!!!

  • Such a little thing

But the difference it made was grave.

  • So what do you do, oddcabbage? Watch his videos? Perhaps go to his shows and throw a drink? Eat shit.

  • i only watched it because i knew he got bottled and its funny. its just a pity it was a plastic bottle and not a grenade. you twat

  • nice one mozza.dont blame you for walking off.if scousers aint out robbing they,re being violent.HEY HEY CALM DOWN.

  • Hey you looking at me, Hey Hey !!

  • Robin Zander(sp) from Cheap Trick did the same thing in Portland, OR. Some asshole threw something at him and Robin walked off. Hell, I'd do the same thing.

  • God forbid somebody doesn't worship you Moz. One less fan to inflate your already bloated sense of self importance. Don't get me wrong, I love your music, but Jesus would have turned the other cheek instead of walking off stage. Clearly, you are not the God people idealized.

  • try resist watching my channel @!@!

  • he was totally right on not coming back

  • " The more he ignores you, The closer you get, He's wasting your time"

  • Irish blood, English heart, This I'm made of,

There is no one on earth I'm afraid of - (besides fans that throw water bottles at me in front of thousands of fans.)

  • morrisey is a wining bed wetting depressing bastard, id pay 40 quid to throw a plastic bottle at his head, the only person there who got their moneys worth was the bottle guy lol

  • lmao

  • lovely stuff! If i pay £80 can i throw a brick?

  • sure !100 squid and you can shoot the bastard

  • Well funny. The shooting sounds the best deal. DONE

  • Why should he finish the show? Because without his devoted fans, he wouldn't be on the stage in the first place. I have been a fan of Morrissey for 22 years now and you just don't let people down like this. Yes, it was wrong for that person to throw a water bottle, but as a professional performer, you don't turn your back on your fans. Bad move.

  • Because he has his sence of honor... and he did the right thing.

He is not a whore to satisfy his client at any cost.

    I'd do the same thing.

  • 'Because he has his sense of honour'......Bullshit and Fanny Arse alert perhaps you can swop 'Diva ' outfits KeragHustar....Harvanic you're absolutely spot on...don't right lyrics that your actions make a mockery off!!

  • Oh please... keep your ignorance to your self.

  • You tube is a website for expressing opinions Keragster if don't want people to reply to you when they think you're talking shit then Publish a Book !!!!

  • Who told you that it isnt you who talks shit here? Hehh... if you are one of those who will tolerate bouncing bottles off your head..then go ahead...today its bottles...tomorrow theyll spit at ya...and the day after tomorrow shit on your chest... and stop being agressive... maximalism does not suit to your 50...feels like you didnt fuck for a year..

  • Great logic there KeragHuster....and so beautifully crafted....Moz must be shaking in his boots as a lyricist

  • He won't care. That's Morrissey. His love me or leave me attitude on albums reads almost like an instruction manual on how to behave around him. My gut reaction watching was 'good for him' that he walked off. But then hearing the fans so deflated... if that was you, you'd be pissed for sure, but to leave a whole room full of non-bottle-throwing devotees is rather unfair. He abhors tolerance; shame he couldn't have seen it would've been respectful to have stayed.

  • I would say: thank you the moron who have throw a bottle in the artist's face.

What in the hell authorise someone to disrespect the work and the person like this?

What would you do if it were your mom getting the face slammed by a bottle while she work?

    Morons

  • quien chucha es este culiao??? nadie lo conoce jaja

    weon loser

  • What a tosser. So much for being a professional. And he had the nerve to say that what was wrong with England was Jamie Oliver... QED.

  • I've heard from a credible source that this was all very much premeditated on Morrissey's part.

Rumor has it that Morrissey couldn't easily reschedule the gig for breach of contract, so the perpetrator was planted in the audience.

  • hahaha where did you find this source from? i can`t believe anyone would say or believe something like that, not everybody is absolutley stupid.

  • I obviously cannot reveal my sources, for legal reasons. However, realize that the man just collapsed a month ago and resuming this tour is low on his list of priorities.

  • If this is true then why did he continue his dates? he`d played at least 3 shows prior to the Liverpool gig after he collapsed and then continued his European dates so it doesn`t really make any sense.

  • haha Morrissey is so GAY!!!

The show in Pheonix, Arizona, was ticking over like clockwork. That was until midway through the breakdown of Badboy Boogie when someone threw a drink at Angus.

    check out it, this video

    CjBOg50EDqw

  • I would have done the same, Go Morrissey *-*

  • I just don't get this. Why are you going to a show of an artist you don't like to have a chance to toss something at him? It's not like it even hurt his feelings and he got your money anyway so you should be the one feeling like a dumbass. A more effective way to show your distaste would be to observe his patterns and behaviour over a minimum of at least a month, and devise a way to catch him with his pants down and the scope of a rifle trained on his head from 400 yards.

  • Only thing hurt was his ego. And all the fans paid the price.

  • Who pays so much money just to throw something on Moz? That's stupid.

But I can understand that he left the stage and not came back. He is a bit of a diva, which shouldn't surprise anyone. It's just sad for the fans.

  • what a kiddie fiddler

  • still love morrissey he is a one off he is a legend and he deserves respect

  • Morrissey always finds a reason to not finish a show.

  • Like the comedians used to say to hecklers: Do I go to your work and say shit to you??

This isn't 1977 and he isn't Johnny Rotten. To wesSide and the others>>Why should he finish the show??

  • ..and to wesSide.. what I mean is that unless you can expect to be hit by plastic bottles at work, why should anyone put up with it??

You should be angry at the fuckwad that threw the bottle, not at the guy getting hit.

  • I understand, but this is, i believe, the 6th show this year he has walked off stage. He always has an excuse to not pull through for the fans who made him the rich man he is. There is a age old saying in the business of performing.

    THE SHOW MUST GO ON!

  • wesSide...I suppose you go to work against doctors orders?? How many of those othe shows were cancelled because he was ill??

The saying does NOT apply to people winging shit at you on stage.

  • watch this one, it's WAAAAAAY BETTER!!!!

    /watch?v=LHyAdD3yrcY

  • Comment removed

  • It's very easy to say Morrisey was right to cancel the gig when you WEREN'T THERE.

    I still love Morrisey though.

  • Man. I WOULD NOT want to be that person that thrown that bottle

  • 1998 or so I was at a very small Key West show when he did the same thing after just a couple of songs.... crowd got a bit rowdy when he kicked into Sweet and Tender Hooligan. Still the 15 minutes of Morrissey was enough to keep me smiling for months and reliving all the Smiths memories. Viva Moz!
