I think the only mystery of this sequel is that Amelia was sentenced since the beginning to die, I think it's possible because in Legend, the gate to Avalon in Bolivia is a mirror which showed the events of the past, If you remember, Amelia listened to Lara's voice and Amanda's voice in Nepal a long time ago, so How on earth Could you explain that?, Of course in Bolivia is a flashback but in Nepal is a sight to the future (foreseeing), remember every gate only works once

I thought "Maybe Amelia is dead. Maybe Lara will find her body frozen...", that would be sad, but what can be worse to a person than seeing his mother's body turned into a zombie?

I think this is one of the main reasons TR8 didn't sell as much as they wanted to sell. A real pitty...

Oouups, damned, I remember the extended XBox Level where Natla want to regenerate herself in the device (looks like an evelator). But the Doppelgaenger brought her down because she is set free by Lara.

But if Lara's mother could had use this device Lare had could her regenerated too.

@artfantasies It's impossible, Because Natla was not completely affected by eitr liquid, She was pulled down into a sea of eitr by thor's hammer power; so She should have died, But She didn't because her body is more strenght than human body, moreover, Natla's conscience remains. In the case of Amelia She must have died before She turned into a thrall and it's true because the appearance of her clothes. A thrall is a corpse alived by eitr substance, in my opinion Natla looks like burnt.

@Oakleafbearer1 I think I know the answer....As she arrived in Avalon the other slaves throw her inside the Midgard serpent poisen and so she turned into a slave just like the Majas(I think they are Majas)!And in the dairy entry you´ve unlocked after you´ve seen this cutscene Lara tell´s you exactly this and she says that she hopes the transformation into a slve was quickly over.

Hey, right before Lara shot Amelia, dosen't it kinda' look like she was about to reach out to her in a loving kind of way? To me it does. Whoever wrote the story should have let Lara find Amelia alive. I almost cried at that part when I was first playing the game.

yeah, it's almost like Amelia recognizes Lara's voice, and even though she was a Thrall, there was some part inside of her that was still the same, but she simply couldn't fight what she had become. It's so sad that Lara had to find it out that way. But then again, we still don't know if she died or not, like said before, she may have fallen back into the Eitr, or she fell to the floor. Perhaps things will be cleared up in the next game, or maybe its over for her. We'll just have to wait & see.

If you read Lara's journel it says something about a woman who gaurds Helhiem. It says that this woman is half girl and half thrall. Could whatver Lara killed actually be the gaurd? And that this isn't Avalon at all. Because Alistair said, "See you in Avalon." We didn't see him either...

I don't think so because in the game, you can see that the thralls die when their bodies fall apart, and perhaps the same happened to Lady Croft when she hit the ground. But if she had fallen into the Eitr, she would be alive because in the last level, you can see some thralls wander around in the blue liquid. It doesn't hurt them. But anyway, we will never know...

we don't know! the job of a trhall is grab visitors and take them to the eitr so that they become thralls to! That's what happened to Lara's mother! But maybe, her mother was strong enough and just wanted to hug Lara... We will never know about that!
