Exciting game. The French really didn't want to get in too many big tackles or rucks with the Tongans, "you take it" "no, you take it"! Good to watch though.
@alldboiz yeah his been playing for them for a season now he scored almost all the games he played ,,,the final he sealed it for them winning the top 14 in french championship scoring 2 tries and now his staying with them for another season ,,,fiji wanted to get him for the rugby world cup but he decided to stay and commit to toulouse rugby ,,hope the club will release him for the rugby world cup.
@chapstick1818 Its easy, just keep passing the ball sideways until your team score a touchdown. The easiest way to learn is to play the video game on playstation or xbox
@chapstick1818 I'm new to rugby, and what's been great (for me) is watching the full games. If English is your native language (or if you are comfortable with fast-talking in English), check out the 6Nations matches. The announcers are pretty decent, and through their commentary, you can figure out a lot. Otherwise, find some with announcers in your native tongue, and it'll be easier to follow. Google Rugby rules for more info. Wiki's got some good stuff.
I hope they make up their minds on what going to happen in next years world cup. I have held back buying any tickets to the opening game until it is certain that Tonga will choose their best players available, don't get me wrong, im as proud as they come of our little friendly island but the hell with being a patriot if they won't choose the team on merit.....2007 team was kick arse....this team looks ok. whoever it is, may it be the best we have...good luck to them
@navutokaboy players you are thinking about prob dont want to be playing for tonga n rather still have the all black dream or wallaby!and some of the 07 team is either retired or towards the end of their career so now tonga are trying to breed young blood into the team!
coaches are doing a good job in givin the boys a run just like this game! and yes im sure they will be picking the best they have but its up to those some top players to make themselves available! all the best go tonga!
@tonganviking1, I understand players who are pursuing an All Black or Wallaby dream because what playing for Tonga will do for it's eligibility, but there were big question marks over the 'Ikale Tahi of late. This team is a good team and maybe they still have players that are on the fringes yet to be named that can bolster our chances but my only worry is that we don't put the breeding of young blood ahead of the only tournament that means something, all the best regardless, Tonga4Life
good man.....thank you for uploading......I watched this game live and left when we were down 27-9 saying to myself .....here we go again......my cousin (who's more tolerant than i am) saw the whole thing and told me later that we won.....lol....go TONGA!!!! next time i wont be a punk and doubt you.....(though u shouldn't blame me for doing so....i mean our track record for coming from behind against a tier 1 type team is not impeccable...right???) I'm just saying.....
Thanx to the coach and the players for taking up the call. It's not about politics or personal endevours. This team is all about our country and unity. So hopefully our best team meets up for the world cup. Great job boys and we give you our full support..see you in the world cup final

Well deserved Tonga Ikale Tahi.Best win because of the calibre of players in the Baa baa's Team are better than most international sides.Hayman,Smith,Kelleher,Ellisalde,Caucaunibuca,Clerc,Basteraude,Masoe,Linde,Mermoz,Heyman etc...continue the good roll of form till next year.
Mean to watch good to see they didn't give up. We still need improvement in our fitness and our defence is still letting us down but the win gives us a boost ready for the opener against the all blacks for world cup. U'NO!!!
Wow down 27-9 in the 2nd Half and Tonga still came back and won.....They are spreading the ball out wide and its crazy to see because Tonga was always running up the gut with rucks / mauls to keep the ball alive.....watching them as a kid playing at the Teufaiva Stadium.....If this team was not the real team....I wonder what team will show up against the All Blacks on September 2011
@fifita78 I hope this is the same team that plays the ABs. Tonga needs cohesion and a team that have played together, not individuals that are put together in the last minute against the ABs with no cohesion or teamwork.
@fifita78 I hope it won't be the same team, they can be much stronger with Tonga'uiha at prop, Moa at scrum-half. If they were not poached by Australia and NZ, they should easily beat them and win the World Cup, no joke.
@Godluvsme1000 I thought of that, but 1970s' Australia was really poor, they did not win any bledisloe for that whole decade. They had no world class players. This barbarians team had more world class player who would go into World XV.
@187prettyboy What about when they beat the french at home in 99? probably their greatest victory in recent history since the game turned proffesional. After that id say this and when they beat Samoa RWC 2007.
@ws4lyfe Thats true, but that game in 99 was in Teufaiva, a few months before the RWC, the main problem with that game is that was France B. None of those players played in the France side that beat ABs later in the world cup. But I agree, that was still a historic win, even if that France line up at Teufaiva had no world class players.
@187prettyboy I remember there were a few or many of the main players of France that played against Tonga in 99. I know Dominic and the number 10 played for sure (I'm pretty sure if my memory is correct because I watched that game at Teufaiva). We had a good team in 99
@stillday007 lol sylvain marconnet played in 1999, so this was his 2nd defeat against Tonga. But he played in the 2005 game where we got smashed 43-8. I watched the barbarians game live on tv and there were 2 commentators, one was a sports reporter the other one was Fabien Galthie, French no.9 in the 1999 game (and IRB player of the year in 2002). The other commentator said he had already played against Tonga and Galthie said yes, in 1999 but he never mentionned the outcome lol
@stillday007 me too...and im sure that they were playing too. In fact, Dominici almost got burnt by one of the Tongan wingers who is a friend of mine. It was not a B side as alot of them played regularly for france. I think this prettyboy is a bit bias on this one...lol
I saw a news article on this and it said Tonga won, so I searched youtube and found this video, and then I watched it, almost at the end when French Barbarians was still leading, I was like, such bullcrab news that Tonga won, but I kept watching and Tonga did win. Anyways, I think this is one of the best games Tonga played in the aspect that they came from behind to win the game in ending of the game. GOODJOB TONGA, KEEP IT UP
i watched this game and went crazy when Tonga fought back like that because I also watched their games against Fiji (where they led 28-0) and Japan (where they led til the last penalty-try for Japan) that they basically threw away.
@finetuuimoala lol, you know, I was able to watch the pacific cup on irb website. I have to tell you, Tonga should have won that tournament, they lead fiji by many points in the begining, then they lost by a penalty try to Samoa and Japan, none of the wins of the other teams were convincing enough.
yeah I watched those games on irb.com as well, it was around 4am here in france lol. I have to say that tournament was one of the most entertaining ever, free flowing rugby (well mostly thanks to the crappy defences but I don't care lol) that just defines our rugby culture (I guess Wales will have to tighten up their forward play and forget about their backs because Fiji once again proved to them they can't beat them or any pacific nations at our own game lol).
