Some villages were also segregated. in 42 many Serbs joined the communists and many Germans joined the Nazi's. Partisan killings went back and forth. Serbs executing German's and Germans executing Serbs. It was a mess. By 44 the Serb communists rounded up the German population and exterminated half of them Woman and Children.
The people doing the hangings are clearly not Germans but Yugoslavians. There are no uniforms in sight. They are probably Croatian or Bosnian civilians.

Partisans deserve what they get. If you fight in civilian clothing, you are being dishonorable in your trickery and by putting your own civilian population at risk. The serbian goverment was the ally of the Germans, untill april 1941, but then suddenly provocators have forced this serbian government to flee. The war in jugoslavia was not necessary at all, and Germany always tried to avoid it. The goal of this balkan war was to decrease the pressure on britain, at all costs. Of course these executions cannot be justified.

Actiosn by Serbian Chetnik guerillas prompted the Germans to order the execution of 100 Serb civilains for every German Nazi killed.Serb Chetnk Mihailovic was awarded the Legion of Merit by President Truman for his heroic resistence and contribution to the final allied victory in Europe.

Important to realize that the many villages in what is now Serbia and Bosnia were racially integrated with Croats, Serbs, and Germans living together for centuries. Some villages were also segregated. in 42 many Serbs joined the communists and many Germans joined the Nazi's. Partisan killings went back and forth. Serbs executing German's and Germans executing Serbs. It was a mess. By 44 the Serb communists rounded up the German population and exterminated half of them Woman and Children.

Partisans deserve what they get. If you fight in civilian clothing, you are being dishonorable in your trickery and by putting your own civilian population at risk. Tito was a scumbag, and his terrorist forces brought all of this on. "Reprisals." In fact, one of their tactics was to force the Germans to target the civilian population. There is the proof of Nazi atrocities...the Germans were merciless in their reprisals. They documented much of what they did, either through film, pictures or the written word. The unit Sonderkommando Dirlwanger was probably the worst and they carried out their work in the Balkans. These troops look like German Heere...though could be Police with the Einsatzgruppen. Anyone?

The war on the Balkans was the success of the british diplomacy in 1941. The serbian goverment was the ally of the Germans, untill april 1941, but then suddenly provocators have forced this serbian government to flee. The war in jugoslavia was not necessary at all, and Germany always tried to avoid it. The goal of this balkan war was to decrease the pressure on britain, at all costs. Of course these executions cannot be justified.
