There are a lot of great games companies out there that work a lot harder for your hard earned cash. Planetside is awesome from SOE, sins of a solar empire is deep strategy by Ironclad games etc etc.

Umm not it isn't. It's a dungeon-based action RPG, it does have co-op and PvP though, but that doesn't make it an MMO. Similar games include Revenant and Dungeon Siege.

I am a 6 year Planetside player.

I absolutely love the game, no other game has provided the entertainment that PS has.

However, "6000 players per server" made me Roflmao.

You are lucky to get a cont lock in prime time now, which is 133 people per empire (there are 3 empires) for a grand total of 399 per continent.

PS is way passed it's former glory.

6000 platers per server? I wish. Mabey after the first server merger when they went down to 3. 400 players per map was reduced after pop cap. Now when I log on I am lucky to find over 40. Mostly less than 10 global.

and it was 14 contenants and cavrns. I perfer araxus befor the ghey bending when you could literally fly from one cont to another. Now you have to use warp gates. and they still havent explained how HART can go from one planet to another?

This is airial footage of a battle seen from a Phantom (invisible transport).

This is only a very small portion of the battlefield. It is a continent with over 10 Bases and more that 20 Support Towers to gain control of.

The game is played as a first person shooter with epic strategy. Players control soldiers in a run and gun style. There are also many vehicles to chose from (All vehicle are destructable so no Warthog tennis here). By capturing Bases soldiers add bonuses to the entire army.

The only strategy is in the way you plan with people of the same faction on capturing land or some of the 20 worlds there are to take over.

6000 people per server at the moment but soon they want to raise it due tot he advances EVE Online have with 1000 man fleet combats with no lag.
