  • does anyone know the name of the song??

  • @anthr2259 Here Today

  • I wouldn't say that either of their lyircs are superior. They are both peak musicians, John was the people's man, idealistic, human, and real. (Come Together, Revolution) Paul was the lover, heartbroken, but always found a way to take a sad song and make it better. (Yesterday, Hey Jude, Blackbird)

  • I legitimately can't think of a current musical artist who sounds better live than Paul McCartney does. People today just can't sing like this live with all of that crap studio production. It's so awesome to see how amazing Paul still sounds, especially considering his age.

  • 6 people accidentally clicked the wrong button

  • @AzatFandorin Hopefully it was only because it ended to soon <3

  • rap is NOT music

  • @j88salinas Yes it is. Open your mind, ignorant fool.

  • @j88salinas

    Damn straight!Rap is crap!!,and always will be..LONG LIVE ROCK & ROLL~~~

  • Lost friends . . . . I love you, familiar and famous. - Beawulfa

  • =( so touching....

  • why just cut it off like that?????

  • I WAS THERE !

  • @Sofieingdan1993 WHO CARES?

  • @dopplerefect2 well...I kinda do?

  • @Sofieingdan1993 :) Just jocking

  • The tune is beautiful and the sentiment is perfect. Written for his best friend once upon a time with total heart and soul just like just would have done for him. Respect to Paul for writing the song and then for playing live for us all to see what John really meant to him.

  • Ok the pipe kid or whatever your name is, please do yourself and us all a favor and never talk bad about a Beatle again. Lil Wayne sucks rap music is all the same. You don't get great music today like you did back in the Beatles' day. Rapping is so annoying! Long live Paul and Ringo! R.I.P John and George -3

  • @PIPEZAVALIA123 Don't troll: give peace a chance

  • @PIPEZAVALIA123 Fail lol

  • @PIPEZAVALIA123 bitch get down on your knees and suck my dick ....

  • @PIPEZAVALIA123 This music defined your 'lil wayne' and made it better. Paul mcartney was a legend and John Lennon.

  • @PIPEZAVALIA123 What drugs are you on

  • In an interview in the mid 70:s John said that if all The Beatles members was in the same town or something they would probably make a last ablum.

  • @888888username That would have probably been one of the most iconic moments in history had that happened. Imagine John Lennon and Paul McCartney walking onto the stage of SNL, live, in the middle of the show. I think the cast would have been so in awe they would have froze and completely lost their lines. It would have stopped the show, like Elvis Costello did in '79 when he started out with a song he was pressured to sing, stopped it in the middle, and went into Radio Radio.

  • we can never forget those we love and changed our hearts and minds and helped to give us a sense of freedom and john was certainly that and much more. It has been over 30yrs since his untimely passing and we remember him and we keep his memory alive. I think one of the only things that john was craving, was the love he never got as a child. Rest in peace john because the whole world loves you and we all miss you what more could anyone ask for then the embracement of so many loving souls

  • An interesting fact...

In the mid 1970's, Lorne Michaels of Saturday Night Live offered to pay The Beatles $3000 to come onto the show. One night in 1976, Paul was watching the show with John at his apartment in New York. The money to be given was raised up to $3,200, and they seriously considered going down to the SNL studio together and appear on the show. However, they decided against it, and it became The Beatles 'reunion' that never was.

  • @blackbyrd97 3 thousand dollars? ... isn't a very Low price??? .... or 3000 what??

  • @aaronjr16

No, it's not a lot of money. It was more of a joke really, the money part of it, anyway. In my personal opinion, it was what drew them to the attention of it.

  • @aaronjr16 It was a joke. SNL sarcasm at it's best. At the time, even in the mid-1970s, there were tour promoters and record execs offering the Beatles $10m for a reunion tour - in the 1970s! Lorne Michaels was making fun of all the outrageous offerings to the Beatles to reunite and tour. He had no idea (nor did anyone) at the time that John and Paul were actually sitting in John's condo in New York watching it and seriously considered walking to NBC Studios and just walk on the show!

  • I can understand why John both loved and loathed Paul. You can see how unnatural Paul can be. This "goodie-two-shoes" look he's always wearing sort of reminds me of Bono. But a witty and cynical person sees through it and always ready to remind this person that it's a facade he's hiding behind. And, strangely, "good guy" impersonators may value such cynicism and honesty.

  • @Korn1holio But if you are identifying flaws in each person's character, what about John being an adulterer and a poor father figure? Every human being has flaws and it's part of what makes this world both cruel and amazing. The cornucopia of emotions just makes it worth living.

  • @nickmordo

sure sure. They both had their faults. It's just that I personally prefer John's style and consider it more honest and natural.

  • the way his voice trips up a bit when he sings 'holding back the tears' at 1:12.

  • 'are you listening babe?'

    Tears.

  • Paul and John were far from hating each other. They were best friends before The Beatles, even existed! Though, they didn't get along too well, they never hated each other! The only reason, by the way, The Beatles broke up, was not because of Yoko, but because of their ego's! Every single one of The Beatles had something different that was absolutely amazing about them.. That was the reason they broke up.. Doesn't make them bad people, though. Beatles forever!(:

  • @MikeLovesChoppers Paul was reeling from John's death which is why he said "It's a drag." he didn't mean it like that, he was deeply distraught, any retard could've figured that out. I'm surprised you even THOUGHT that Paul McCartney would say something like that about John.

Here for you Paul, I've got your back.

  • Paul wanted to write with John again after the Beatles, but they never got around to it. He didn't want to leave things the way they left them after the Beatles but he didn't manage to talk to him in the same way he used to ever again. R.I.P John Lennon, we all miss you, and I hope you and Paul are reunited again one day.

  • @Oceancottage45 John Lennon hated Paul get your facts right and if Paul isn't up his own arse how come on one of Pauls albums covering some Beatles song he changed written by Lennon/McCartney to written by McCartney/Lennon! and his reason was because he had more input into the songs than John but John isn't here to answer that So Oceancottage45 your an arsewipe just like Paul.

  • @moran68 okay well if John Lennon hated Paul, then why would they keep phoning each other to speak? why would they think about reigniting the Beatles? Paul McCartney and John Lennon didn't get on well, that's true, but he didn't hate him. Paul wants a bit more credit for some of the songs he maybe put a but more input into? And the John Lennon songs that Lennon put more input into would stay Lennon/McCartney. So moran68, stick it.

  • @Oceancottage45 have you listened to "How do you sleep" by John Lennon thats how much he hated him.As for Paul putting more into the songs than John , those songs were written in the 60's maybe he should of mentioned it at the time when John was alive to answer back. Its always been Lennon/McCartney not the other way round.

  • @moran68 yeh you have a point it is weird to change it... lennon/mccartney is the way it should always be... but although john wrote how do you sleep about paul, he also felt guilty later. but oh well check us arguing like they did. nice voice by the way, watched your cover for "Things We Said Today." lets stop this petty argument we're clearly both Beatles' fans :)

  • @moran68 In Regards to How do you Sleep, John was pissed at Paul he did not Hate him there is a difference..

  • @romans52345 Can you explain the difference please..

  • <3 beaautiful!

  • The outfit he's got on reminds of Edward Scissorhands

  • I saw him perform this at his July 16, 2011 concert at Yankee Stadium. Very touching without being mushy.

With Beatles in mind, I've posted the video, "40 years in 3 minutes", which is a music video containing the Beatles' rooftop performance, historical events over the last 40 years and 8mm film antics from the period, all cut tightly to GET BACK and GLASS ONION. Hope you enjoy!

  • Tasty

  • Beautiful. I cried. "I remember how it was.". Paul is so easy to underestimate. Sometimes I forget that he is a great musician. John and Paul, they loved each other

  • "Are you listening babe?" brb crying forever

  • Thumbs up if you read the top comment and could imagine John Lennon saying those exact words, with his exact accent

  • ((ºJº))

  • wow you can change speed in this video..

  • Love you john ! Beautiful song !

  • LEFTYS!!!!!!! lolz

  • @PIPEZAVALIA123

Not sure if trolling, or just retarded.

  • Im going to pauls band on the run tour in dec, i really hope he will play this song

  • JAPI BERTHDEI YON

  • it wasnt his 70th birthday in 2009 but still great footage

  • IM SPEECHLESS

  • some left handed that i remember are Paul McC, Jimmy Hendrix, Kurt Cobain... any other??

  • @DiazdelVivar

    Tomi Iommi (Black Sabbath).

  • @DiazdelVivar

Well Ringo was left handed, but he played right handed drums :D

  • @BeatlesIsWhatWeNeed Ringo was ambidextrous. He wrote and played crockette right handed, but did just about everything else with a left-handed initiation. Including drumming.

  • Good song,

  • and I'm crying again.

    every time again:$

  • ((ºJº)) we love you John <3

  • i still remember how it was before...

  • I allways cry when i hear that song... :')

  • @jifex007 wow someone i can relate on

  • ((ºJº))

  • ((°j°))

  • Calm down people! he says BABE! whats the problem?

  • //('J')\\

  • If John were here today he would say, "still making Granny music, huh Paulie".

  • @bamboosa He'd say it with a kiss on the cheek, no doubt and no worries.

  • @bamboosa debes ser el tipico que se hace el macho, yo no tengo sentimientos, y en realidad, lo que no tenes ni tendrias, es cojones para escribir una cancion asi a un amigo que extrañas!!!

  • @bamboosa Easy for you to talk shit about McCartney isn't it...you who never achieved anything. Actually, according to Yoko, John always loved Paul, they were like brothers. He probably would have been touched and appreciative. Don't live in your world of caricatures mate, the Beatles were human beings not your feeble impersonations.

  • @junaid1 well said

  • @bamboosa Before you refer to Sir Paul's music as 'Granny Music', remember Lennon's two final albums, 'Double Fantasy' and 'Milk And Honey'.

  • @bamboosa bull....

  • @bamboosa Well,it depends, mate.John was always envy of the vast ways of Paul's talent.paul can write a song for every single thing, and a great song as well..where john...ok,he was a good composer as well, but Paul McCartney IS The Genius, you know. You can start from Hey Jude or Band On The Run,go through Monkberry Moon Delight and Helter-Skelter,then try Cafe On The Left Bank and Your Mother Should Know, then again go to Oh!Darling and Beware My Love...NOT TO MENTION THE ALBUMS,YOU KNOW! :)

  • @GergelAni John was a level above Paul, Johns solo music is far greater

  • @coldmountain888 I would say, without question, that John's lyrics were superior to Paul's. Paul's musical arrangements were superior to John's. One was not above the other. They went in different directions, and were both very successful

    .

  • @teladan5 That's why they were the most sucessful musical partners of all times. Nobody ever made songs as the Beatles did, as every one in the band contributed with something. :D

  • @teladan5 I disagree, Paul's lyrics were just as good as John's, i'm talking as a person who knows all The Beatles songs.

Paul gives a lot of meanings for his songs, John liked to do some hidden stuff.

    2 genious in fact.

  • @bamboosa haha funny

  • @bamboosa If John were still here - Paul would say "them's some big ass fucking bullet holes mate...." ;)

  • @bamboosa And yet John would have probably smiled years later, like we all do when we get old and we remember.

  • Did anyone else notice this was recorded off a television?

  • My favourite guys, such sad parting pool luvs. Money fame glory is nothing compared to true friends.

  • still longing for one last moment to speak to his best friend , so so touching is this tribute to the one john lennon , what a tribute , thanks paul, from one legend to another

  • oh yeah, John is listening, for sure ;)

  • i cried my eyes out...."are you listening mate?" that's just so so so beautiful

  • People forget that these guys had their differences when the Beatles broke up but till the day John died they were still the best of mates!!!!! I love how Paul pours his heart out in this song!!!! I believe it was like losing your brother for Paul!!!!

  • ((*J*))

  • Remember John, not just for the music, but for the wisdom and beauty he believed in.

    We love you John.

  • this always makes me cry... :(

  • this song has made me cry on occasion......such a nice tribute

  • Почему уходят поэты?

  • When Paul was in an interview about john lennon's death. They put the song beautiful boy and Paul almost going to cry, was emotive

  • ((°J°))

  • 2 People aren't here today !

  • @3x3qui3lxd2 It's paul you fucktard. I hate conspiracy theories

  • Why didn't you upload the whole song? Jesus! WTF?

  • its amazing how they fought in the early in the 70's and he still thinks of the good times instead of the bad.

    Heres to you, Paul

  • Brothers fight.

  • @vgr112261

    I know, right

  • ((°L°))

  • ((*J*))

  • WHO THE HELL DISLIKED THIS VIDEO?!?!?!?!D:< How can you dislike this video?!?!

  • @kbrookep11 He's just idiot. Only idiots hate beatles

  • @GeorgeLennon77 Amen to that.

  • very nice.

  • He say's *are you listening mate*............

  • "He says are you listening LENNON" wow

  • Comment removed

  • ((*J*))

  • ((ºjº))

  • ((°J°))

  • beautiful

  • john hated him, paul is so far up his own arse and his songs are crap!

  • @moran68 john DIDNT hate him, you fool. They just drifted apart. They were actually on about reuniting as the beatles..

as for Paul's songs being crap..just gtfo .

  • @diehardWHfan listen to john lennons "how do you sleep at night" which is about paul . fool! and the beatles would never of reformed fool!

  • @moran68 People have to have been around during those times (the sixties) to realise just how big they were, it wasn't called Beatlemania for nothing. After Brian Epstein died they were like rudderless ships and had know idea of business and no one could agree on which way to go. The Beatles Anthology is a must for any fan, I got mine from ebay

  • @alfiesgirluk after seeing McCartney live, and multiplying that experience by 4 - i think i undestand roughly what it must have been like :)

  • @moran68 change your youtube name to 'moron68' because Paul McCartney is not up his own arse. He lost one of his best friends to some psychotic murderer and you sit there without a care in the world and say that. Paul was only half. John was the other half. Think about that instead of saying stupid things like that. okay? >:O

  • I think Paul really needs John now, to sit back and rememebr the goods times they had together and to talk how they changed the world of music, together. His voice always breaks when he sings this song, and mostly in the part about crying ....

  • This isn't a tribute to Lennon's 70th birthday, this song was on Tug of War (1982), and was written to pay homage to their friendship after he was shot and killed in 1980.

  • @zaccari4am He does actually say that... He says he wrote it after his dear friend John died.

  • What an idiot! They cut it off!

  • this not a tribute to lennon's 70 birthday

  • ///o-o\\\

  • @KolHatikvah I just noticed it has 70 likes. John Lennon would be 70 today.

  • Comment removed

  • Finally. Paul stepped off pedestal and made his tribute to John. Very sad but beatiful.

  • @adripk very sad and emotive love you all guys

  • @adripk Paul wrote "dear friend" a long time ago

  • this is so nice <3 happy birthday john

  • Isn't this just so...sad. Sad is the only word. See how he wrote the end of this as a duet? I'm so lucky all my friends are still alive.

  • Happy Birthday John.

  • happy birthday john <3

    love u <3 legend

  • Happy Birthday John :) we love you...

you will be in our <3 FOREVER

  • where is john lennon? a song on G chord?

  • Wow. Jesus christ is the answer. Accept his sacrifice and keep his commandments. Saturday is the sabbath not Sunday.

  • @david510152025303540 does it bother you that your religion has been disproven by science, or have you developed some sort technique that allows you to lie to yourself effectively?

  • @ledZeppelin7680 God bless you. I am an objective person and all the evidence I have seen only confirms what I believe. Please, I would welcome love to investigate any evidence that would caue me to suspect that what I believe ie false.

  • @ledZeppelin7680 Thank you for your reply.

  • @david510152025303540 Please, don't bring jesus into this. This song here isn't about jesus. It's about John Lennon, who's words have touched me more profoundly that most people's, so please, show respect.
