For those of you who never got to see Mike Hargrove in action, this is truly what it was like. You could take a 3 hour nap in one Hargrove at bat and he would still be up when you woke up! LOL!
He got fired for that bullshit series against Boston where they beat us like 40 to nothing. I can still remember them chanting "Jared" . Why Hargrove got blamed for that series I will never understand.
I remember my dad at a A's game in 1984, kept announcing full blast what Mike Hargrove was going to do each time. TAP THE SHOES, TUG IN THE SHIRT, ADJUST YOUR GLOVES, SWING THE BAT, ADJUST THE HELMET. One of the greatest nicknames in baseball.
@MrBennetzen Yes and umpire Nester Chaylak WAS hit in the head by a chair and a rock and he found a knife right by his feet. It was after this that he decided to forfeit the game to Texas.
Ha thats a great nickname!! He and Mickey Rivers were my two favorites to watch at bat: Mike before the pitch, and Mickey spinning the bat after the pitch

@haro82 Actually, Bud Selig in the 90's made a couple rules to make the game SHORTER. And it worked. One of his only good choices in my opinion.
