The cops did NOT overreact. They used an effective, non-lethal method to subdue an overly-aggressive perpetrator. If they had allowed him to continue with his violent behavior, then the situation certainly would have escalated into an even more dangerous scenario.
Actually the perp never challenges the officers. It is exesive force if there is no apparent danger. Obviously the other officers did not think there was any real danger because none of the other officers even reached for their side arm or baton.
The cops over reacted for sure!!! They should have evaluated the situation and asked a few questions before shoving people that where trying to help out of they way!!!!!!
