Where do you get the idea the state owns a 501c? I think maybe you need to read a little more on this subject. Maybe you just don't understand what ownership means. Are maybe you're just attempting to mislead people. Not sure what you're doing. But it's in no way how things actually work. I hope you'll retract your comments once you see you've misspoken and admit your mistake.
@CAJUNNSC Seriously? Read all the comments below. Read a 501c3 contract. Read up on incorporation. The gov own ALL corporations as they are “creatures of the state”; corps are merely controlled by their board of directors, not owned by them. The only types of business that are owned are sole proprietorships and partnerships (not LLPs, those are a form of corp).
@GodsWordFirst I've done more studying on this subject. Just What is the Church by Herbert W Armstrong -"But is the corporation the Church?
IT IS NOT! The Church existed as a spiritual organism, organized as CHRIST organized it (NOT organized on any human plan), and it carried on the SAME Work of God, with the SAME divinely directed organization BEFORE it incorporated as it does today. It is organized according to GOD'S pattern, not man's legal corporate pattern. "
@TheTjkit continued "..Now I have shown that the true Church of God is NOT a human organization or corporation, but a spiritual organism, composed of all who have and are being led by the Holy Spirit of God abiding in them.Yet the Church is ORGANIZED." This shows that the Church was kept separate in this Church. Just food for thought.
@GodsWordFirst I agree with you. Sole Prop. or corp sole does protect the organization from Government control. It is a safeguard to keep you from sliding into 501c3 tax status. It does protect the members of the Church. Although I believe not every Corp is a "creature of the state", I do agree with you. Have your heard of Herbert W Armstrong? he did this in the late 1970's and early 1980's with his church, when the state tried to take control of the church.(The Worldwide Church of God).
@TheTjkit I'm familiar with the Worldwide Church of God founder but don’t know of his legal maneuvers. I would like to know more. Do you wish to teach me or share a link to more info? About "Creature of the State", it's a legal term for an artificial entity created by statue (state law). All Corps are created by statute. From a legal standpoint S Corps and C Corps are the same. However they are taxed differently and have slightly different operational guidelines and exit strategies.
@GodsWordFirst I see what you mean about "creature of the State" .I have a book written by one of the church members about the whole ordeal. If there is any way to send it to you, I'll send it. The man who wrote the book was the Attorney who defended the church. In the book he goes into great detail.
I find is that EVERY Church is 501c3."Free churches" are by default 501c3.that is why they receive the same benefits as if you signed 501c3.The Difference is that when you are by default 501c3 you still control it. You never signed away you constitution. When you seek 501c3 status and you sign the "contract" you are bound by it. Then the Government controls it. 508c1a status is the default status for 501c3. Every church is 501c3. It depends if you signed over the control to the Government or not.
@TheTjkit Very good point, thank you for bringing it up although you are slightly in error. Churches are not 501c3 by default, they are tax exempt via IRS Code 508(c)(1)(A). Therefore there is no reason for a church to file for 501c3 tax exemption because they are already tax exempt - BUT ONLY IF the church is a corporation. A corp is a "creature of the State" and OWNED by the State regardless of filing status. That’s why my ministry is a Sole Prop.
I this Jesus you set the best example for his church when he sent petter to collect money from a fish s mouth and pat bolth thier taxes. It sounds to me like the church should be double taxed?
I believe your right bro! Sad to say, but we cannot serve God and mammon. I believe God's people who are the "church", should have more home bible studies. I mean, what does something that is meant to be a light unto this world want anything to do with that which is against it AND allow this very system to be the very ones that makes the rules for the churches to follow as well? I find this very scary and unfortunately many of our brothers/sisters believe this is fine with a Holy righteous God?
Good conclusion, but the "separation of church and state" thing is not the best argument as it is not a law. A better argument would be - Who is the head of the Church? God or the IRS?
You are quiet deluded. The fed owns everything you've got, no what paper you sign or don't sign or whatever corporation you make or not make or whatever income tax is paid or not, the 501(c)(3) status only means that the group does not exist for the purpose of making money for its shareholders or partners. However, it will soon be that sincere belief in Jesus Christ is not acceptable to the gov in principle; indeed, it never has been. Paying taxes doesn't change any of that.
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:4).
Didn't Jesus say "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." ??? So you support "separation of church and state" that is your message?!?
@JEWSCONTROLMEDIA911 "Give unto Ceasar..." yes, exactly. That's the law of the land we are to obey. But there's no need to give over the entire church, just the taxes. That's my message with this video.
This information is incorrect; do your own research:look up the form for 501(c)(3) on irs.gov; research what separation of church and state really means. The state does not own non-profit organizations.
@GodsWordFirst I see now, the property tax exemption is a state issue, though I think most, if not all states allow the property tax exemption - California does.
no church should be tax exempt. The majority of churches, especially the mega churches take money from their parishioners and use it to buy mansions, fancy cars etc.If churches were not tax exempt at least then an accounting could be made of where the money actually goes, something the majority of churches don't want because it will show them for the greedy hypocrites that they are.
@ranchai100 Actually the gov’t is really strict on accounting for where the money goes since they technically own the “non-profit” organization. For-profit businesses can get away with more tax fudgery than nons. There must be some other loop hole or trick some greedy hypocrites use for getting away with fleecing parishioners. Certainly an issue warranting a deeper study.
@Slingblade347 1st, I study the Bible 2nd, I've studied church history. Baldwin is right on target. Jesus conversed with all people, even politicans and tax collectors!
I never had a clear definition of separation between church & state. Your video make it clear. Thanks & I do feel members of the church need to be well informed.
Churches are not warning their flock as to what is really transpiring in Washington and on the State level because of the 501c3. It seems as Chuck Baldwin said, that Pastors fear the IRS more than fear God. It's time to exposed this and get Pastors to stop compromising and start standing up for the truth.
@MsTheresaKelly1 Watch out for Baldwin. He's another wolf in sheep's clothing, pretending to lead the opposition but is part of the world's system. Jesus Christ did NOT participate in worldly politics and neither do His true followers. Chuck Baldwin is a Dominionist which is another type of false christianity. Look it up and you'll see what I mean. He tells a lot of truth but also mixes it with a lot of lies that go against the Word of God. Beware!
The church is not the building, not the chairs, not the tables, not even the money... The church is made of Christ followers. There are a lot of benefits from 501c3. Even if you don't go through 501c3 the church still has to pay taxes or go through state and federal regulations. God told us to follow what the made man law states and to give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God...
@esancl Yes but He didn't say to YOKE with Caesar by becoming a 501c3 religious CORPORATION, which is no longer the Body of Christ. THe Bible says that if you join yourself to a harlot, you become one with her. Same goes for the bride or body of Christ joining herself with a stranger (worldly satanic controllled government). 501c3 requires pastors to sign a corporate contract that disallows them to preach on many subjects in the Bible required by Jesus Christ to preach against.
@Slingblade347 Have you ever read the application for a 501(c)(3)? Have you read the IRS determination which gives the church or organization its tax-exempt status? I have. There is no contract required by pastors to be signed. Pastors may preach what they want. They do not sign contracts which restrict Bible teaching. I'm a church administrator and have set up tax-exempt organizations; no such requrement exists.
You have a good point. You should research further. First of all, the act of incorporation puts God's law under man's law. Not only is that wrong but it is necessary.
I have found that if a church is NOT incorporated or 501(c)(3) tax exempt they are outside the jurisdiction of the government. An unincorporated, non 501(c)(3) church does not have to pay any taxes including payroll taxes. 501(c)(3) only gets you out of certain taxes and puts churches under the jurisdiction of the state.
@ANDYREYNAGA 501c3 status has nothing to do with the ability of a church to sustain itself. That's off topic anyway. The subject of this video is that it's illegal for a church to have a 501c3 status because it violates the separation of church and state law.
@GodsWordFirst Not only that but it violates the Word of God. Jesus clearly said that you cannot serve TWO masters. 501c3 "churches" serve the government. The really ridiculous thing about it is that under the U.S. Constitution, churches were ALREADY exempt from taxes and there was no need to yoke with the government! "My people perish for lack of knowledge." Hosea 4:6 Jesus said to "render unto to Caesar what is Caesar's" not to become Corporate partners with him!
@GodsWordFirst The main thing that 501c3 "churches" violate is the commandment of Jesus Christ! He said that plainly that you cannot serve TWO masters! He also paid the taxes and told Peter that the "sons of this world" were free but they paid their taxes. 501c3 "churches" are "sons of this world." Jesus said His kingdom was NOT of this world. John 18:36 Satan controls the opposition in both politics and religion by LEADING it. He is a master at deception.
@ANDYREYNAGA According to the Bible God will supply all of our needs. He doesn't need the government's help. Also, 501 c 3 puts a muzzle on the mouths of modern day pastors. So my question about this matter is Does the body of Christ trust God enough to honor His word? (Matthew 6:33, Philippians 4:19) Also, should pastors limit their sermons to messages that are IRS approved? (Acts 5:29, Galatians 1:10)
@transitionalphase No, they are to "preach to WORD, in season and out of season, convince, rebuke and exhort" according to the commandment of the Word of God (Jesus Christ). Oh wait, I forgot.........they no longer serve Him. They are committing adultery with the antichrist government and participating in Baal worship (Ishtar/Easter/Mithras/Saturnalia ("christmas) and all the other Satanic holidays celebrated by the world who is supposed to HATE true Christians, not celebrate holidays with them
