wow, it's svetlana vs gillian in the posts here. anyway, i am not a gillian fan but she has nice legs. but for me, it's marianela nunez who's the swan queen and not svetlana nor gillian. hehe.

I like Sventlana's dance kind of.. but I can't decide what to think of it.
Looking at Gillian's, she looks more.. in my opinoin, alive. I lvoe both of their variations, but I think I like Gillian's more. because I feel like she looks healthier. but don't yell at me.. i lvoe them both haha<3
I think she is great at this variation. Svetlana is beautiful too, but she overdoes it on the extensions. Marianela Nunez is my personal favorite, but anyone who works that hard deserves respect, whether they dance at ABT, the Bolshoi, or a shabby studio somewhere.
i keep coming back to this video. it's amazing. why? because BALLET ISN'T A BLOODY FREAK SHOW. all people appreciate nowadays is whose leg is higher, or whose foot looks more broken in half. and when a dancer has this amazing performance quality, but doesn't get their leg up as high as somebody else, they get shot down. it's ridiculous.
@Megannnnnn101 well that's good for you. everybody's entitled to their favourites. however, i think gillian performs the role better. it's debatable as to who dances better i guess, cos svetlana's technique is beautiful, but i personally think gillian portrays the emotions better. once you get over her legs and feet, svetlana gets a bit boring. i do admit she has amazing control though :)
Idk why but I can not stand to watch her dance. Her face bugs me, she makes the face like she has shit on her lip, and her arms look like chicken wings.
ARGHH SHE'S SO BEAUTIFUL. definitely my personal favourite of the odette variations i've seen. like of course she could do with more control with her grande battements, but otherwise her technique's perfect and she puts so much emotion into it
I love this piece done by Gillian, and I think that her artistic interpretation was phenomenal. She is delicate in her fluttering changements, and her pause at 1:28 really nails her movements.
I keep coming back to this video to learn this pas, and I am in love with it, especially being in Cambridge around so much snow.
julie kent is absolutely the best odette of ABT... i have no doubts... i like sure gillian's pirouttes and jumps but i don't like her so much as an artist...
Oh my Goodness people! Gillian Murphy dances beautifully. She is my favorite dancer. And this variation is just beautiful. Stop hating

she proves that ballet is just not just rythmic gymnast. She has such musicality, expression, and emotion and that`s her art. I adore her.... :)
