the scrin are a race completely dependent on icor. they ion infuse with it. the force sent to earth originaly was a harvesting team. by the time the icor detonation event happens the native population is either nearly extinct or is destroyed to the point of a low class threat. the reason for the icor contaminaion in the gas giant is that gas giants are not completly without mass. and are viable to icor seeding. they seed, wait for the explosion, mine and move on. during
Well, the Scrin were awakened out of their slumber way too early by Kane's faked liquid-tiberium-explosion.
They pretty much didn't anticipate any resistance whatsoever only to be suddenly pewpew'd from those ion-cannons while they didn't even enter earth's atmosphere.
This was probably only a little scrin-squad deployed to our planet - maybe it didn't have all of Scrin's military capabilities in it.
Well, i want to see a full-scale invasion in C&C4!
In my view, this "diversionary" force definitely felt like a diversionary force. Compared to a full GDI force, they were very easy to kill. Their only real strength is in their air forces, but otherwise they are ripe meat for Mammoth tanks and Juggernauts and Zone Troopers. During the GDI campaign, I was vastly underwhelmed by how easy the Scrin seemed to be, and was further underwhelmed by how insanely impossible that one Scrin mission was where you have to destroy a GDI base with only air
Well actually, the 'invasion' force was actually a harvesting force. The Scrin fleet was dorment on the edge of the solar system, waiting until tiberium levels reached critical levels, as shown in the C&C 4 preview. When humanity would basically be extinct and in no position to stop them coming to the planet, setting up the towers and harvesting the tiberium covering the planet. So really, the Scrin encountered in C&C 3 were just a small force for harvesting protection.
Well, in opposition to GDo and NOD harvesters, the Scrin harvesters never actually touches the ground, they just 'hover' above it while having tentacles pick up the tiberium.
Nice catch though, I didn't see that the gas giants were contaminated - and we don't hear a word about it in any of the campains.
Yeah, it was pretty nasty, even on computer. My best recommendation is to blitz straight for the top left GDI base at the very beginning with your commando and one saboteur. Then simultaneously use your shadow teams to clear a path and distract for all remaining saboteurs to get into the bottom left one. Blow up all the defenses near the construction yard with shadows and get the engi in. Then build defense asap. Use your shadow team reinforcement power early on to help out, should total 6 teams
yup, but the scrin that were in this game was just a small harvesting team. Then at the end, earth beats them back, and that kinda humiliated them, so the supervisor said "launch a full scale invasion! EARTH WILL FALL!!!"
lol lots of ion cannons lots of catalyst missles and lots of nuclear missiles, plus lots of avatars juggies mammoths beam cannons and everything else x 10000
Nod campaign is easy at start but get a bit harder,GDI is easy though, just turtle it,build defenses overall and eventually ion cannon and an army of mammoths, then bomb the objectives with 12 or so firhawks and rush, its very easy just take it slow
Yea GDI is hard. I havent played nod yet but I gues it wil be even harder for me, im more a steamroller and dont do diversionary tactics ore stealth :p
can u get subtitles on this game

Keep in mind that the Scrin in Tiberium Wars are only a security force for the mining operations, not a military force.

Why are the gas giants being shown as having tiberium contamination? how are they going to mine that?

It might just be me but that male voice sounded a little like the old VA for Cabal from Tiberium Sun.
Torijenova 3 years ago
If you played Firestorm, then you know Nod stole a GDI EVA unit when CABAL went rogue. They just changed the female voice to a male voice.

So Scrin is like a cleaner right? They just do Harvesting job, but if you mess with them, they strike back right?
