Beautiful movie. I had to cry when she just couldn't understand what she has done wrong and took the blame because she didn't want everyone to know she was an analphabetic. It really touched me and showed me the other side of the World War II-tragedy. Beau-ti-ful.

@KimInLosAngeles lol and like that would justify the massacre, we know they committed terrible atrocities in the war, we owned up even to the stuff we did out of general war effort (the atomic bombings)but their government won't own up to shit :P.
Not that I'm some anti-Japanese person, but it's just true.
On the other hand that's just another drop in the bucket of the terrible atrocities committed in the war, even by Russians on German civilians when they reached the first villages.
