Vietnam is a shithole, its like an open sewer! Its a breeding ground for all kinds of fucked up diseases. If I wanna eat cockroaches and worms or catch hepatitis, then Ill go to vietnam for sure.
No matter how beautiful they would want to make the city, the people still litter the streets with garbage. Restaurants are lack of cleanliness standard. If they want more tourism revenue, all they have to do is to strictly enforce litter control and food safety. They got to punish hard to those who violate the laws like in the USA. If you are caught littering, you are slapped with $250-$1,000 in fines! If a restaurant fails inspection, it gets hefty fines or shut down.

is the area between Lang Son (VN) and Guangxi(CN), In the past thousands years, Both claiming it is their land. Hence frequent conflicts to take control.
In 1979, CN brang 200000 men to invade Vietnam partly hoping to gain control of the area, the Vietnamese army resisted and won the battle.
In 2008, CN and VN signed a treaty, divided the area, half to china, half to VN, its now called "The Friendship Pass", IDIOT!

I guess you're Vietnamese? I have never been to Vietnam but would so love to visit. We get good Pho in London, but nothing is as good as eating the local dish at the place where it's from. Are you still in Vietnam? Apart from the city, can you recommend any other nice places to visit? Thank you for your help

bourdain's books aren't bad either. i read the one about this show and he says vietnam is his favorite.
im glad he still has his travel channel show which is similar and still entertaining although i disliked his korea one - -;

Love the way that Bourdain dismisses the abject misery of the bears that provide their bile for the dubious benefits of his hosts with the "un-PC" chant. Conscience and mercy have to wiggle their way in there, don't they?

To claim that humans are "deserved" (adj.) whereas other sentient being are not is in the realm of the flat-earth argument. Let's hear your thoughts on entitlement. Get a grip on reality, Every animal on this planet is doomed to die, some painful some not, every species is on it's way to extinction even us, heck 99% of all life forms that have lived on earth are now extinct. Once your dead, that it, you won't care about the suffering you had to endure, because you can't.
