This part from 0:06 to 0:12... I feel like I've heard it before, but then the music took a longing turn again, so it can't be this track. Probably completely unrelated to this game in fact.
@MarikBentusi Maybe you're thinking of the children's song "The Ants go Marching"? That's what I thought of when I heard this song for the first time.
This track is awesome just like everything about the game but I have just one regret. Everyone remember the days of Billy and Mandy cartoons? Their best episode, "Little Green Rock of Horrors," was orchestrated to the tune of Brains. The guy who wrote it is an actual musician by the name of Voltaire. My point is Tim Schafer should have put one of "Voltaire's songs in the game. I have my own ideas on how to incoporate music into a sequel to Psychonauts. People just look up "Zombie Prostitue."
This tune is both heroic and tragic. Ford Cruller must have been one of the most powerful psychonauts in his days, before the battle that crippled his mind. You know, after that he was deemed useless by all psychonauts, except for Sasha and Milla. This man is a true hero.
Makes me remember Agent Cruller's room, everything looked so cool, the cool mood was set, and Cruller gives me a piece of bacon. I was laughing for a long time through this game.
Yeah, Double Fine knew this music was awesome, cause they used it in the credits after the Psychonauts theme. Aw, boy... but damn does this bring me back...
This is, without a doubt, my favorite song in the game. There's just something about it that makes you feel both calm and brave... makes you feel almost like a true Psychonaut.
I also just have a fondness for horn solos with this particular sound. Not quite major, not quite minor, soft yet powerful. (Or horn solos in general. Before I got braces, I played the French horn in band. Beautiful instrument.)
Even though I was only about 15 when Psychonauts was released, this track still makes me think back to the days of Grim Fandango. Something nostalgic and warming about the music in Tim Schafer games. In my opinion; Tim Schafer is the best games designer of all time. /25th time listening to this song
man!! i really want them to make a sequel" to this game its such' a great game thought, it's to bad it didn't sell, hopefully sense its on the X-BOX LIVE ARCADE" for sell to download, it could get popular for a sequel ?
Alot of games had that problem. Advent Rising is another great game with a very good soundtrack but it didn't sell much. The game felt more like a movie where the story was actually compelling and made you want to know what would happen next, unlike most games. Games like Psychonauts and Advent Rising didn't get much attention because everyone was busy playing Halo 2 at the time.

yeah i know... the only other game with real good music is zelda but thats nintendo they tend to be overdone, so i think i was very suprised at this game, its made from sponsors i haven't even heard of until i bought it :O
The ONLY other game with real good music is Zelda? That's kinda a stiff opinion isn't it? Perhaps you aren't playing the right games.
Just off the top of my head, I can think of Silent Hill with stylish music, Kirby with upbeat rhythm, the old Megaman stuff which are just plain catchy, Crystal Chronicles had lovely folk-style songs, Professor Layton had an absolutely gorgeous main theme, Baten Kaitos had a great soundtrack, and Earthbound's music was trippy and diverse, yet also very good.
Only good game music in Zelda? Damn you must be playing shit games. I can think of hundreds: Shadow Of The Colossus, (both MM and OoT have beautiful soundtracks, I like when Evan is playing Piano the most) This game, Most of the megaman games, Mario, Command and Conquer (a majority of the games)....I could keep going.
Don't be surprised or grossed out by what I'm about to type here but, I think I love you.
THANK YOU for uploading these soundtracks!
The music for Psychonauts has always been something that's stood out for me. I don't know. But ever since I took up band in 6th grade 5 years ago, musical scaores have always stood out for me.

@HyperYoshi798 Thanks a lot, but nah that's not it. It was more similar to the beginning of Ecstasy of Gold, just a bit faster and deeper/more sad.

Wouldn't it be awesome to convince your high school band to play this at an assembly or something?
DarkShadow859 2 years ago
@DarkShadow859 or if they just had this soundtrack and played it over the intercom all day in a loop. That would be amazing

@DarkShadow859 haha yeah
when your headteacher is making a long and boring speech about stupid school things this music would make them look 100x more awesome XD
