Yes, I did come on here because of NC. It was funny though; one of those freaky coincidences. Just a few days ago I was talking to my friend about Dennis Rodman for... the first time in 10 years? Then this comes up.
Besides, awesome set-up for a final fight. Colosseum + van Damme + Rourke + Rodman + minefield + baby + implausibly placed Coca Cola vending machines = BEST DEATH EVAH!
@shamim13333 Because the mines are triggered through weight being placed on them. He could remove his shoe but the shoe has less weight than he did thus triggering the mine to blow up. It would have been smart for Mickey Rourke to have a weight in his pocket to place in his shoe to keep the mine from triggering, if that makes any sense. EPIC MOVIE FIGHT SCENE!
LOL wtf if you pause at around 5:08 he is holding a gun but then when Van Damme pushes Micky Rourke to the side of the arena he aint holding it no more...unless when Van Damme came up and pushed him he knocked it out of his hand and we just couldnt see it good enough..oh well who knows
Criminally underrated slice of 90's action, visually one one the best looking action films from it's time. Good soundtrack and cinematography aswell:)
@gedbeat15 Same thing I was thinking and also notice how Stavros steps on the mine with his right foot but its under his left foot before he dies. How did this happen?
@baz00ka666 He's not asian bro...His name is Todd David Senofonte, actor/stuntman, an expert and champion in Tang Soo Do. He always dreamed of being in movies. After having his first acting role in 1996, Todd's skills in fighting and agility were recognized and he was discovered as Jean-Claude Van Damme's main stand-in/stunt double, but also his close friend.
@baz00ka666 He does move like a chinese guy tho ha? Lol Even I thought it must be an asian guy doin his stunts. But then I looked it up, & saw it wasn't. His physique is like Van Damme's too...
@baz00ka666 Ya, I like Scott Adkins. But he's not getting any good roles tho. You know he was the stunt double for Ryan Reynolds in Wolverine? I really liked him in the first Undesputed 2 w/ Michael Jai White. The Ninja movie he did was ok. You see Van Damme vs Scott Adkins (The Shepherd 2007)? It was short fight, but good tho!
@RobertLei .....He was the only good thing in the Wolverine movie. And this is coming from a big Reynolds fan.Undisputed 2 was a good movie, but 3 was what I really wanted from a martial arts movie.I saw the fight with Van Damme on youtube.Didn't like it..Adkins is better than that.To bad Tony Jaa is out of business for a long period.I was waiting for the fight of the century: Scott Adkins vs Tony Jaa...............ps:sorry for my bad English....bro.
@baz00ka666 Ya, I liked him in Undesputed movies. I don't know, but tony Jaa needs to start doing some new materials. Cuz this village elephant movies is getting old. I mean it was cool in Ong Bak 1, But he doin the same old stuff in Ong Bak 2, & 3. I liked his movie the Protector. That was a great movie. It be nice to see him, & Scott together tho! But not Hollywood style. Hollywood will destroy them like they did w kackie chan. They wouldn't let Jackie do his own stunts.
@RobertLei Agree with everything you just said. But Tony left the movie industry to become a monk. They estimated that he will stay there 10 years.Hope he beats the shit out of all those monks and then starts to get bored of that place.
@baz00ka666 Ok now that I didn't know. Wow!!! That sucks! Just right when he was gettin big he leaves to become a monk. What inspired him to do that? Hmmmm....I wonder! Not that I'm against his faith, but man he was gonna be the next big name!
@baz00ka666 No worries bro! I found it...Ya, this may only be a temporary retirement. In Thailand all males are expected to go into monk-hood for a period of time, how long he would stay there is up to him. This is a very important part of Thai life.
wow 45,Micky is a bad ass!!!!!!!!!! he was a professional boxer in the early 90s,i don't know his record but i think he had 8 or 9 pro bouts.oh ya he is a pack a day smoker to,loves the beer and still walks around with a body like that,my fing hero!!!!!!!
i know what you mean. i tought the very same thing. But as a martial artist myself, i used my old vhs-recorder at slow motion when i got this movie in 1998.. Just to see the jumping kicks.. its some asian dude who does all the advanced jumping kicks..
Mmmmm, Mickey Rourke has a killer bod in this movie but has no fighting skill at all. He gets pulvarized by Van Damme throughout the entire film and mostly during the final fight scenes; even the tiger gets a piece of Mickey Rourke.
how abt van damme vs jet li vs rambo vs tony jaa vs arnie vs tom cruise vs will smith vs chuck norris vs daniel craig vs ray parks vs hugh jackman vs danny devito vs jackie chan vs russel peters......
@voodoo2285 yeah tommy would be the first to go but you should add dolph lundgren as well and joe pesci martin rigs Snake Plissken and dirty harry! i think danny devito and joe pesci would be epic!
Micky was a full contact boxer for 1/2 his life thats why his face is all hmmm fucked up.... lets pitt mr van damme up to tony jaa ..... well i dont have to say much but van damme would hit the floor like a bag of rocks...
It's funny how people thought Rourke's face looked ruined then, but he actually looks decent here compared to how he looks now.
