It's about music. It's about love. It's about paying for drugs. It's about getting a lap dance from a lesbian. It's about playing music with the top half of your father. It's about surviving multiple gunshot wounds. It's about being a ghost. And of course it's about the pixelated penis. It's about a lot of things. It really is a beautiful ride.
@minhhoang2312 well it may have not been a joke but I think even if he did die 3 minutes later it would have been ok. He spent time with his family, played his final master piece and like I said before reached enlightenment. So either way its not necessarily a sad ending, but I still think you can take it either way and just because of this you shouldn't look at the movie negatively because it did what it great and all in all was a great movie.
@minhhoang2312 Its more of just a joke, if they were to have something afterwards it would have been something to do with him living the rest of his days in enlightenment, but because they did need to add anything they just added that for humour. Personally I don't think it was needed.
The first time I watched it, I thought "ooh this could be funny!" I don't think I ever laughed so hard when I watched when he was first offered reefer in the bathroom by the drummer xD (cant remember his name atm, but realllly funny scene)
i know the movies a spoof movies but it was a movie that when you watch it for the 1st time your uninterested but as it goes on it sticks with ya and the music is awesome love this movie oh and YOU NEVER ONCE PAID FOR DRUGS YOU TUBE WHAT THE FUCK YOU PLAYING AT MAN GO OUT THERE AND GET ME SOME WEED MAN
I totally get that this song was writtien purely for comedy, but as a songwriter myself, there really are some ingenious lines of this song. Fantastic. The wrong kid didnt die.
All joking aside, this is really a great song. Beautuiful chord progressions and (sometimes) very poignant lyrics..!! And is it just me or was anybody else blown away by how beautiful John Reilly's voice is..??!! My God, this man can sing..!! Thanks for posting..
@MARKGPL Yes I said the same thing about John C. Reilly's voice on a different video of this same song (the vid with the black screen and the lyrics up). It's one of the most beautiful songs you could hear and yet it's a slightly goofy song from a parody film. It's amazing.
