Shut up, Thomas Jefferson said once "God forbid we dont have a revolution every 20 years" Moses never said he was tired of the people, God told him what to say to the Israelites
@AtheosRecords actually the person that said Glenn Beck as part of Goldlines scheme was Anthony Weenier and guess what that guy was a perverted psychopath
and a man who shares the same theology and faith as Whitefield, I would like to tell Mr. Beck that you have no right to even utter the name of Whitefield. NONE. Now, the pseudo Christians that listen to you and serve a political philosophy might but as for me and my house, we'll serve the Lord and truth. Doesn't anyone check this man's "facts". If not, you have no interest in truth.
Here is Glenn Beck as his most deceitful. First off, George Whitfield would had condemned Beck's Mormonism. Second, Jefferson and Adams could not stand Whitefield's Orthodoxy and Calvinism. Third, bringing up Martin Luther King is laughably ironic since Whitfield was an ADVOCATE for slavery. Then, we have to deal with the fact that Whitfield only visited the United States from England. He WAS NOT a "founding" father. Also, the LDS Church condemns Whitfield's Calvinism. As a former Mormon...
Beck brings to the table many anachronistic ideas, which in my view cannot be applied to society's current situation. In fact, many ideas held by the Framers are linked to British monarchy. The Framers did have a virtuous agenda, however, they also were elitists. Although there are many flaws in Charles Beard's "Economic Interpretation of the Constitution," he does prove that these Founders were not poor. In fact, many had largest estates and owned fifteen or more slaves.
Furthermore, these Founding Framers were very surprised, if not downright angry about the results of the American Revolution. Thomas Jefferson on his deathbed stated that he felt the Founders failed Americans. He overtly believed that democracy would cause the nation to crumble. This shows that the Founders did not have the ideologies that Beck claims. Instead, it was the average Americans who took the Revolution and created a "radical" democratic nation.
The nation that Beck and many others have to readily credited to the Founding Fathers. It would be wrong to argue that the Founders did not have the American people's interest at heart. However, anachronistic understanding of the Founders has created this fallacy. A seminal book on this topic is Gordon Wood's "Radicalism of the American Revolution." I would be wrong to disagree with Beck on his argument that American citizens need to take charge and change our situation.
But let us follow in the footsteps of the average Americans following the Revolution, not the Founding Framers. I hope this helps to clarify many of the discussions going on over this topic. I am currently working on my PhD in early American history, and this debate still continues in the present scholarship, and it does not look like it will change anytime soon.
Glenn Beck is telling the truth that is to come and the only way we can do anything is if we listen to the founding fathers. They would know how to get us out of this recesion
Isn't it ironic libs throw around "revisionist" history whenever they disagree with history when, in truth, they've been the revisionists (& censors) for 25 years? BTW, Czar, it's no slam on character to call a person "ignorant" but your profane posts prove much more. Respect in disagreement IS true character.

the reason no one heard of Whitefield is because he was not important historical figure
the only reason beck bring him up is because he part of the revisionist history by taking out important character in history that disagree with his views and putting secondary fool who part is insignificant at best
@dec4dence i have opened my eyes and ear to many different sources to realize that Glen Beck has nothing to say but propaganda and lies along with the use of emotional manipulation he is a "Joseph Goebbels" the propaganda minster for the Nazi party and that is what that subversive FUCK HEAD a real danger to the whole of the US

@VChapaev Are you serious????? You get your info from Bill Maher?!?! haha You are either insane, ignorant, or you hate the truth. I'm guessing its the later. And unfortunately for American we are full of people like you.
In 1749, George Whitefield campaigned for slavery's legalization, claiming that American territories would never be prosperous unless farms were able to use slave labour.
Remember that America's founders were slave owners.
@yahwehsferret "Remember that America's founders were slave owners."
So, your point is what exactly? That because SOME of our founders were slave owners that nothing good could come forth from them? These men gave the world they greatest nation it has ever seen, where freedom, individual liberties, and opportunity where more equally distributed that ever before.
@elijah5791 The point is to have a balanced veiw of the Fonding Fathers, something Beck is intent on avoiding. Not only did some of the Founding Fathers profit from having slaves, some of them executed slaves [ Jefferson was so fond of some of his slaves he 'bedded' them]. These were men, not gods, but Beck and his ilk would have us believe they were beyond reproach and created a perfect document, although any logical person understands this is impossible.
@molloyxx1 I don't see Beck as thinking these men were "gods" or "created a perfect document." But, there can be no dispute that these men learned the lessons of history very well, and instead of hanging on the necks of this new nation yet another heavy yoke of oppressive government, they instead created something altogether fresh and welcome: a republic constituted on laws whose guiding principle was the recognition of the rights of the individual.
@elijah5791 Beck goes to great lengths to instruct his veiwers that the Constitution is a perfect document and that anyone who dares to dispute his vision of the Founding Fathers [ who, as we well know, were very much at odds with each other on certain fundamental matters] is anti-American. That any reasonable person would pay heed to the paranoid rant of a shock jock Mormon cultist is beyond me.
@elijah5791 Jefferson believed that central poweer should be restrained...until he became President and used the power of his office to effect the Louisiana Purchase 'without any controlling authority'. It is impossible to imagine Jefferson or Madison embracing political dogma in support of todays GOP positions on prayer in schools, abortion of gay marraige. John Adams was a Federalist, believing in a strong central government. And no one was more of Federalist than Hamilton.
@molloyxx1 Look, I am opposed to gay marriage and abortion, and for prayer in schools, and you oppose me on all of them. But, you know what? If it were not for the fact that the Federal government has usurped the rights of the individual states, then none of these would even be an issue.
You'd have states where gays could marry and women could have abortions, and owning guns was illegal, and other states where the opposite was true, and you could pray in schools. Then we could each choose.
@elijah5791 I simply don't believe in the primacy of state government when it comes to basic individual rights. I am old enough to remember the civil rights movement and the states rights arguement routinely presented by unashamed racists of that era. They had no reasonable defense for their bigotry BUT 'states rights'. If you want to engage in a reasoned debate about the legitimacy of, say, gay marriage or the separation of church and state then do so on the merits.
@molloyxx1 "I simply don't believe in the primacy of state government when it comes to basic individual rights."
I absolutely agree -- when we're talking about basic civil rights. And, this is where we will likely disagree. I do not accept that it is a right for gays to marry. Marriage is something. It has always been something. If you could travel through time and ask people of other ages "What is marriage?" they'd say "when a man and woman join together as one." That should not change.
@elijah5791 What do you mean by ' marriage is something'? If you could travel through time, say back to the American South in the 1840's, and ask people if they thought slavery was a good idea, what kind of response do you think you would get. And while you were there, letting your time machine cool off, you could ask if women should the right to vote.
@molloyxx1 I mean it is something. It has a definition. If I said asked you to describe a square you could, because it is something.
Marriage is the same way. Ask anyone throughout history what marriage is and you'll get the same answer -- until this generation. This generation seems to think that all the generations past were bigots because they had a name for when a man and woman legally united, and called it "marriage.'
Let gays unite, have tax breaks, etc., but call it something else.
@elijah5791 . Racism and bigotry and sexism and genocide and slavery and children working and dying in factories are all part of an ugly legacy. America became a great nation because it steadily, and legislatively, turned away from these depravities [ and liberals were the driving force, while conservatives consistenly fought against the changes]. These days most people under 40 support full rights for gay Americans, so, as time passes, it is certain gays will be afforded equal rights
@molloyxx1 "These days most people under 40 support full rights for gay Americans, so, as time passes, it is certain gays will be afforded equal rights."
A man to "marry" a man is not a right. A man to "unite in legal union" with a man is a right, I suppose. That's not just semantics, either.
Why is it that homosexuals are so insistent on calling it "marriage?" To me that is very suspicious. If all they want is equal rights, then civil unions gives them that, right?
@molloyxx1 By the way, every nation on the face of the earth has "an ugly legacy." And, you are absolutely full of shit to claim that "liberals" who really today are "socialists" "communists" or "anarchists" were the driving force behind abolition, ending genocide, and ending dying in factories, and conservatives fought against it!
Are you crazy? Lincoln was a conservative, christian, republican, as was Martin Luther King, Jr. Robert Byrd and the rest of the KKK were Democrats!
@elijah5791 The Democrat party is not socialist , communist or anarchist, They are seperate but use the Democrat party to use each other to get there power and most of the time they do not they are being used. They are not the same type of party compared to way back when Like in the south it was heavy democrats way back when but, it transformed into more of a liberal party. The south still has some Dixicrats and they are about the only conservatives left in the south in the democrat party.
@molloyxx1 Liberals were the driving force???? Wow. Reading through these comments is very telling. How wrong you are! Christianity was the driving force against those things. You can deny this fact all you like. It is the liberals who use these things and exploit them for their own gain. This, my friend, is not turning away from these depravities, rather using them to promote their own self-serving power and greed. And that is just sickening.
@Chriscjs Power and greed? When I hear those words I instantly think of the Wall St Robber Barons who came very close to bringing our economy down. Or coal mine owners who cheat on safety measures to save a buck, costing dozens their lives.I also think of Enron, who raped California electricity users by selectively shutting down plants and so jerking the rates sky high, in the process bankrupting thousands of small business. Then they screwed their own employees out of their retirement funds.
@molloyxx1 You have been very effectively duped.Open your eyes to how these politicians exploit events like BP, Enron, Madoff, and a crisis like a coal mind exploding..they use a very broad stroke to make the whole industry and everyone associated with them into the villains in order to increase their own power and regulations. I've never been employed by a poor man. Destroying Wall St and big business will only make more Americans suffers. Why do you think there is STILL almost 10% unemployment?
@Chriscjs What in gods name are you talking about? Do you think the government should not establish mining safety laws? [Ask the dead miners families]. The regulations being propsed for Wall St are SPECIFICALLY targeted at investment banks [ who, in a bad economy continue to make billions], who BTW, produce nothing but profits for them selves. BPs safety track record was the worlds worst and they should damn well have to pay for the damage they did and be very strictly regulated.
@Chriscjs I can easily translate that; you have no basis on which to make a counter-arguement. As Limbaugh and Beck and the like go to great lengths to avoid debate of any kind they ill serve their listeners, who are ultimately only capable of parroting what they hear and never develop the ability to think for themselves. You, Christopher Jesus, have been duped.
@molloyxx1 Avoiding debate? I guess that's why you answered my question about why unemployment is still at, around, or possibly even above 10%. Where are all the promised jobs?? When is the stimulus $ going to start working??? Where is the transparency that was so quickly promised by this Administration? You lost the debate the moment you opened your liberal anti-American mouth and tried to engage in the topic. Keep drinking the kool-aid and I'll be the one laughing in November and in 2012.
@Chriscjs There are a variety of reasons for the level of unemploymnet. As Bush departed the job loss rate was 740,000 per month. That has since stablized but leaves a lot of catching up to do. Also, investment bankers find it far more profitable to gamble their funds in a variety of complex ways than lend it to small businesses [ better return; such is raw capitalism]. I am not anti-American, unregulated corporate greed is anti-American. Did you vote for Bush in 2000 and 2004?
@molloyxx1 The blaming Bush crutch has worn out long ago. But its a typical diversion tactic. Obama has been in long enough and name one good thing that has come out of what he has been pushing through? Unless generational theft is a good thing, then you are left with nothing. How many promises has Obama already broken?? Transparency. HA! Iraq? HA! Not passing a bill until the public can see it? HA! Now it's "we have to pass it for you to see whats in it." Obama is failing before your very eyes
@Chriscjs For those who hate the fact of history and believe that the economic crisis began the second Obama, who crushed McCain/Palin by apppx 10,000,000 votes in a free election in a free society, was inaugurated, your comment makes sense. The rest of us understand that Obama inherited a collosal mess [ and that Bush inherited a mild surplus, which he then pissed away via the trillion dollar mistake in Iraq and tax cuts for the super rich]. History is a bitch, eh, Chris Jesus.
@elijah5791 It wasnt the greatest nation on earth for slaves, women, children, and American Indians. It was. in its era, the greatest nation on earth for men with some direct claim to property. And while the Constitution is a sturdy, insightful document, it is not scripture, it was written by men and written in a fever of heavy debate, where comprises and deal making were common and necessary. Not so different than it is today.
@molloyxx1 Oh, crap! Here we go with the whole "America is evil because of it's despicable history of slavery and oppression" bullshit! Would you please give that a rest!
Why can't you just acknowledge that America is the greatest nation ever conceived? It's unique and special in numerous respects from every other nation that preceded it, and even from most nations today.
Did America fuck up from time to time? Sure. But, all nations fuck up, as all peoples do. But, the U.S. is better!
@elijah5791 Slavery and genocide and child labor and the suppression of womens rights [ they got the vote in 1924] are a fundamental part of our history, but they do not disqulaify all the good America has done at home and abroad. History should never be the province of ill-educated propagandists like Beck, or Iranian mullahs. The facts are best fleshed out in vigorous debate between qualified historians, and the only venue for this is, commercial free Public Broadcasting. My taxes at work.
@elijah5791 I think everybody should read more history [ the average American reads one or two books a year] and spend more time talking about it. However, when I see a former shock jock pawning himself off as some sort of professor or expert on a particlar era in our history...I worry for his audience. Beck is no more equipped to blather about the Founding Fathers than Paris Hilton.
Founding Fathers are Deists...According to George Whitefield, they are in hell right now because they were deists. Unless George Whitefield believed that Deists could still inherit salvation, which would have made him a heretic among Protestants. Also, Let me play with Glenn's logic abit. They come for the illegal immigrants and im silent, they come for legal immigrants and im silent, and soon they will come for non-white US citizens...just kidding.
@wkcr He also hated the bad treatment of slaves, he treated his slaves well and used them to raise money to give to the orphanage. Yeah, what a horrible man.
@31guitar That might be the dumbest thing I have ever read...yeah he was nice to his slaves what a swell guy! HE BROUGHT SLAVERY TO GEORGIA AND FOUGHT FOR LEGISLATION TO RE-LEGALIZE IT! HOW MUCH CLEARER CAN I GET? LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET HE WAS A COMPLETE DICK
@wkcr Thats all you got? He fought for slavery? He fought for it for economic benefits. Unlike the Church of England, he felt slaves needed to be educated and were in need of salvation. I've given multiple examples on how he was a good person and all u got is that he pushed for slavery
@31guitar What a stand up guy, offering slaves their much needed salvation to prepare them for their afterlife. In their actual life, emancipation was clearly out of the question due to the economic benefits. That's all I got and all any reasonable person would need to declare the guy a hypocritical fuck. Its ok, keep deluding your brain with Beck's preacher-like rants while he runs to the bank laughing at you simple-minded fucks
@wkcr Ok bitch, I gave u multiple examples on why hes nice, you gave me one on why he isn't. Get the cum out of your eyes. You've clearly lost this argument. Lincoln didn't plan on freeing slaves when he was first elected, he is a bad guy for that? You such a liberal retard
@58fenix No, im not. I think the idea of slavery though has become perverted as poor souls who were whipped and tortured. Actually, most freed slaves were worse off after the civil war, and many actually went back to their owners for work. This does not exucse the fact that enslaving a person is wrong, even though it wasn't viewed wrong back then. What Im saying is just because he wanted slavery, doesn't make him a bad person
@58fenix Why are u twisting everything? Try to think in the context of the time period. Back then, slavery was ok. Lincoln did not plan on getting rid of slavery when he was first elected, so is he a bad guy? Washington didn't get rid of slavery, so was he evil too? Whitefield was well liked by his slaves. He was disgusted by the horrible treatment of slaves. Unlike the church of England, he wanted to treat them like humans and not property.
@58fenix No of course not. What you're assuming is that because I said slavery was perverted by the left to seem more horrible than it actually was (ex: Uncle Tom's Cabin), you think I'm suddenly for it, when I also said it doesn't excuse the fact that slavery is still wrong today. Society back then, however, did not find slavery as immoral. Some did, but most did not. To understand these people, you have to understand the context of the time period they lived in
@58fenix I didnt really take your question seriously. And I think your misunderstanding my whole arguement because you fail to understand the context of the time period they lived in
@58fenix Are u kidding me? I say understand the context of the time and now i support slavery... really? You twist shit around more than Obama. Congradulations, you're a liberal retard
Why does Beck have a huge wall around his house ! beck will say things . Then be a hypocritical situation. He is a hypocrite. I hope those zombies do not have too pay too see that flam
"Why does Beck have a huge wall around his house!" Because people threaten violence against his wife and children and send him death threats all the time. He requires 24/7 bodyguard protection thanks to idiots that wish harm to him and his family. Disgusting.
Great great analogy between God's people in reversionism back then and client-nation USA in reversionism today. Perhaps Beck will speak about 2 Chron 7:14 (if he hasn't already)

Are you crazy? Lincoln was a conservative, christian, republican, as was Martin Luther King, Jr. Robert Byrd and the rest of the KKK were Democrats!
elijah5791 1 year ago
@elijah5791 The Democrat party is not socialist , communist or anarchist, They are seperate but use the Democrat party to use each other to get there power and most of the time they do not they are being used. They are not the same type of party compared to way back when Like in the south it was heavy democrats way back when but, it transformed into more of a liberal party. The south still has some Dixicrats and they are about the only conservatives left in the south in the democrat party.
leemer12 1 year ago
@molloyxx1 Liberals were the driving force???? Wow. Reading through these comments is very telling. How wrong you are! Christianity was the driving force against those things. You can deny this fact all you like. It is the liberals who use these things and exploit them for their own gain. This, my friend, is not turning away from these depravities, rather using them to promote their own self-serving power and greed. And that is just sickening.
Chriscjs 1 year ago
@Chriscjs Power and greed? When I hear those words I instantly think of the Wall St Robber Barons who came very close to bringing our economy down. Or coal mine owners who cheat on safety measures to save a buck, costing dozens their lives.I also think of Enron, who raped California electricity users by selectively shutting down plants and so jerking the rates sky high, in the process bankrupting thousands of small business. Then they screwed their own employees out of their retirement funds.
molloyxx1 1 year ago
@molloyxx1 You have been very effectively duped.Open your eyes to how these politicians exploit events like BP, Enron, Madoff, and a crisis like a coal mind exploding..they use a very broad stroke to make the whole industry and everyone associated with them into the villains in order to increase their own power and regulations. I've never been employed by a poor man. Destroying Wall St and big business will only make more Americans suffers. Why do you think there is STILL almost 10% unemployment?
Chriscjs 1 year ago
@Chriscjs What in gods name are you talking about? Do you think the government should not establish mining safety laws? [Ask the dead miners families]. The regulations being propsed for Wall St are SPECIFICALLY targeted at investment banks [ who, in a bad economy continue to make billions], who BTW, produce nothing but profits for them selves. BPs safety track record was the worlds worst and they should damn well have to pay for the damage they did and be very strictly regulated.
molloyxx1 1 year ago
@molloyxx1 sigh...there really is no medicine for a fool. You are a case in point.
Chriscjs 1 year ago
@Chriscjs I can easily translate that; you have no basis on which to make a counter-arguement. As Limbaugh and Beck and the like go to great lengths to avoid debate of any kind they ill serve their listeners, who are ultimately only capable of parroting what they hear and never develop the ability to think for themselves. You, Christopher Jesus, have been duped.
molloyxx1 1 year ago
@molloyxx1 Avoiding debate? I guess that's why you answered my question about why unemployment is still at, around, or possibly even above 10%. Where are all the promised jobs?? When is the stimulus $ going to start working??? Where is the transparency that was so quickly promised by this Administration? You lost the debate the moment you opened your liberal anti-American mouth and tried to engage in the topic. Keep drinking the kool-aid and I'll be the one laughing in November and in 2012.
Chriscjs 1 year ago
@Chriscjs There are a variety of reasons for the level of unemploymnet. As Bush departed the job loss rate was 740,000 per month. That has since stablized but leaves a lot of catching up to do. Also, investment bankers find it far more profitable to gamble their funds in a variety of complex ways than lend it to small businesses [ better return; such is raw capitalism]. I am not anti-American, unregulated corporate greed is anti-American. Did you vote for Bush in 2000 and 2004?
molloyxx1 1 year ago
@molloyxx1 The blaming Bush crutch has worn out long ago. But its a typical diversion tactic. Obama has been in long enough and name one good thing that has come out of what he has been pushing through? Unless generational theft is a good thing, then you are left with nothing. How many promises has Obama already broken?? Transparency. HA! Iraq? HA! Not passing a bill until the public can see it? HA! Now it's "we have to pass it for you to see whats in it." Obama is failing before your very eyes
Chriscjs 1 year ago
@Chriscjs For those who hate the fact of history and believe that the economic crisis began the second Obama, who crushed McCain/Palin by apppx 10,000,000 votes in a free election in a free society, was inaugurated, your comment makes sense. The rest of us understand that Obama inherited a collosal mess [ and that Bush inherited a mild surplus, which he then pissed away via the trillion dollar mistake in Iraq and tax cuts for the super rich]. History is a bitch, eh, Chris Jesus.
molloyxx1 1 year ago
@elijah5791 It wasnt the greatest nation on earth for slaves, women, children, and American Indians. It was. in its era, the greatest nation on earth for men with some direct claim to property. And while the Constitution is a sturdy, insightful document, it is not scripture, it was written by men and written in a fever of heavy debate, where comprises and deal making were common and necessary. Not so different than it is today.
molloyxx1 1 year ago
@molloyxx1 Oh, crap! Here we go with the whole "America is evil because of it's despicable history of slavery and oppression" bullshit! Would you please give that a rest!
Why can't you just acknowledge that America is the greatest nation ever conceived? It's unique and special in numerous respects from every other nation that preceded it, and even from most nations today.
Did America fuck up from time to time? Sure. But, all nations fuck up, as all peoples do. But, the U.S. is better!
elijah5791 1 year ago
@elijah5791 Slavery and genocide and child labor and the suppression of womens rights [ they got the vote in 1924] are a fundamental part of our history, but they do not disqulaify all the good America has done at home and abroad. History should never be the province of ill-educated propagandists like Beck, or Iranian mullahs. The facts are best fleshed out in vigorous debate between qualified historians, and the only venue for this is, commercial free Public Broadcasting. My taxes at work.
molloyxx1 1 year ago
"Slavery and genocide and child labor and the suppression of womens rights...are a fundamental part of [every nation's/ human] history..."
fixed it.
"History should never be the province of ill-educated propagandists like Beck..."
History is the "province" of anyone who is interested.
"The facts are best fleshed out in vigorous debate between qualified historians..."
Nonsense! And, only the Pope can interpret scripture, right?
"the only venue for this is...Public Broadcasting."
ROFL! :D
elijah5791 1 year ago
@elijah5791 How was the genocide 'fixed'?
molloyxx1 1 year ago
@elijah5791 I think everybody should read more history [ the average American reads one or two books a year] and spend more time talking about it. However, when I see a former shock jock pawning himself off as some sort of professor or expert on a particlar era in our history...I worry for his audience. Beck is no more equipped to blather about the Founding Fathers than Paris Hilton.

I love America.
I love the good that came out of the American revolution.
I'm just saying; we don't follow the practices of the American founding father uncritically, nor should we.

George Whitefield brought slavery to Georgia and fought for its re-legalization in the South...what a decent guy!
wkcr 1 year ago
@wkcr He also hated the bad treatment of slaves, he treated his slaves well and used them to raise money to give to the orphanage. Yeah, what a horrible man.
31guitar 1 year ago
@31guitar That might be the dumbest thing I have ever read...yeah he was nice to his slaves what a swell guy! HE BROUGHT SLAVERY TO GEORGIA AND FOUGHT FOR LEGISLATION TO RE-LEGALIZE IT! HOW MUCH CLEARER CAN I GET? LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET HE WAS A COMPLETE DICK
wkcr 1 year ago
@wkcr Thats all you got? He fought for slavery? He fought for it for economic benefits. Unlike the Church of England, he felt slaves needed to be educated and were in need of salvation. I've given multiple examples on how he was a good person and all u got is that he pushed for slavery
31guitar 1 year ago
@31guitar What a stand up guy, offering slaves their much needed salvation to prepare them for their afterlife. In their actual life, emancipation was clearly out of the question due to the economic benefits. That's all I got and all any reasonable person would need to declare the guy a hypocritical fuck. Its ok, keep deluding your brain with Beck's preacher-like rants while he runs to the bank laughing at you simple-minded fucks
wkcr 1 year ago
@wkcr Ok bitch, I gave u multiple examples on why hes nice, you gave me one on why he isn't. Get the cum out of your eyes. You've clearly lost this argument. Lincoln didn't plan on freeing slaves when he was first elected, he is a bad guy for that? You such a liberal retard
31guitar 1 year ago
@31guitar Your saying that a person was
nice to his slaves and treated them well.
It sounds like your saying slavery is okay
only if you respect them.
58fenix 1 year ago
@58fenix No, im not. I think the idea of slavery though has become perverted as poor souls who were whipped and tortured. Actually, most freed slaves were worse off after the civil war, and many actually went back to their owners for work. This does not exucse the fact that enslaving a person is wrong, even though it wasn't viewed wrong back then. What Im saying is just because he wanted slavery, doesn't make him a bad person
31guitar 1 year ago
@31guitar so your saying it does'nt make him
a bad peron because he wanted slavery.LOL!
I am laughing hard right now.
58fenix 1 year ago
@31guitar So if you had a chance to have slavery today.
And people were voting for it would you vote for it.
58fenix 1 year ago
@58fenix Why are u twisting everything? Try to think in the context of the time period. Back then, slavery was ok. Lincoln did not plan on getting rid of slavery when he was first elected, so is he a bad guy? Washington didn't get rid of slavery, so was he evil too? Whitefield was well liked by his slaves. He was disgusted by the horrible treatment of slaves. Unlike the church of England, he wanted to treat them like humans and not property.
31guitar 1 year ago
@31guitar I'm not twisting anything around.I'm
asking you a question?Again if you had a chance
to vote for slavery would you?Yes or No!
58fenix 1 year ago
@58fenix No of course not. What you're assuming is that because I said slavery was perverted by the left to seem more horrible than it actually was (ex: Uncle Tom's Cabin), you think I'm suddenly for it, when I also said it doesn't excuse the fact that slavery is still wrong today. Society back then, however, did not find slavery as immoral. Some did, but most did not. To understand these people, you have to understand the context of the time period they lived in
31guitar 1 year ago
@31guitar Two reason's why he act like slavery is
a good thing.1 I read what you said and you said
these people were nice to there slaves. How can
you be nice to your slaves when slavery is wrong
anyway.
58fenix 1 year ago
@31guitar And 2,when I asked you a question you did'nt
answer the quetion right away.I had to ask you twice.
So you make it seem like you were afraid to answer.
58fenix 1 year ago
@58fenix I didnt really take your question seriously. And I think your misunderstanding my whole arguement because you fail to understand the context of the time period they lived in
31guitar 1 year ago
@31guitar It does'nt matter what time period it
was.The real fact here is it is wrong to say he
was nice to his slaves regarless what the
time frame is.
58fenix 1 year ago
@58fenix No it definitely matters. Because slavery was viewed as moral then. U have put yourself in that context.
31guitar 1 year ago
@31guitar Yeah I see what your saying,
you pretty much are telling me that slavery
is right.
58fenix 1 year ago
@31guitar So if you lived in that time you would
vote for it.You just admited slavery is right even
though its in a different time.Congrats, you just
admitted you are racist!
58fenix 1 year ago
@58fenix Are u kidding me? I say understand the context of the time and now i support slavery... really? You twist shit around more than Obama. Congradulations, you're a liberal retard
