  • If you add the battery in the shopping cart, the price become $17. Thank you for take the time to respond.

  • @jetlongextra No worries, good luck!

  • A123,is it same as LiFePo at H.K.

  • @jetlongextra Go to the LiPo, LiFe, NiMH Batteris, click on Tx/Rx Batteries, PRODUCT ID: A123-6.6VB its now $31.43, its the assembled 2300 mAh pack, I also bought 2 A123 batts to build my own pack also PRODUCT ID: 18650

  • What kind of battery do you use?do you like the 4S set up?

  • @jetlongextra I've been using mostly the Turnigy 3600 4s, and a 4000 and a 5000 4s, I really like the Nano Techs, This plane is huge, I like the 5000s best, also I just got an A123 2300 mAh Rx pack from HK, I think its a must, I'm using it all my larger warbirds and EDFs.

  • Just got the p47 1600mm from BH, thinking of using 5S Lipo, its got 4258 400kv motor, will it burn the ESC or motor?

  • @jetlongextra I checked the specs on the BH 1600mm P-47, it's 400kv motor and 85A ESC, off hand I'd say you're gonna have to upgrade the ESC to 100A to handle at load the 18.v 5s. Also I can tell you that you should 100% add an external BEC, or better yet use the A123 Rx pack, I just got 2 from Hobbyking (HK), the 2300mAh pack was only $22 or so. I was constantly getting Rx brown outs, using the Rx pack will eliminate this- and ONLY use genuine A123 batts- there is a huge difference!!

  • Hey thank you I was looking at it again but want the other paint scheme and they are out in the kit type. Thanks again.

  • Who makes this plane for Banana Hobby? Isn't it the same size as the Nitroplanes P51?

  • @shurlock1 No it's not the same as Nitroplanes Airfield P-51, from what I know the Airfied and FMS are the same. The BH BlitzRCworks 1600mm P-51 is the same as the Starmax 1600mm P-51-- I'm pretty sure on that.

  • Im still putting together my "RTF" P51D as they say. I would call this a kit. I already see that my retracts are mo good. Out of the box they were drooping out of the wing a.d are very loose. Ill have to check on those from HK. Thanks. And what do u mean the ESC is set to break? They didnt mark the wireing good at all. Im confused. Any way u can make a video showing what goes where?:-)

  • why didnt you put the covers on the servos under the wings? they were grey plastic coveers in the box. u had to cut them apart. Just wondering. I just got mine in. and u are right, the instruction manual sucks!!

  • @The1sRos Damn I didn't know what the hell those 2 plastic pieces were--thanks! I might still have them since I never throw anything away...If you watch my maiden you'll see my main retracts were defective, BH finally sent the correct replacements after sending 2 wrong sets! Check you retracts for way too much free play, I found the same exact servoless from HK, and just installed--way better. Also check your ESC-- I think its factory set to 'Brake' the motor--I just replaced with Cyclone 85A

  • how many servos are in this plane? I would think 6 but on the website for the airframe only version says it needs 8 servos? 6 servos would make sence 2 for the ailerons 2 for the flaps 1 for rudder and 1 for elavator. that makes 6 right? thanks,

  • @MrDrob08 Yeah you have it right--thats strange-- on BH site the ARF kit lists 6 servos, and mine has 6 servos. The retracts are servoless, main gear and tail gear. Must be a typo-this BlitzRC P-51 is a beauty--highly recommended!

  • @inthetubedeep OK thank you I already have a motor, esc, bat, tx/rx, servos, ect. I just wanted to make sure before I got it

  • @MrDrob08 Cool, make sure you add a separate BEC to your ESC if you havent done so yet, from my experience its a must on all the big warbirds and EDFs!

  • @inthetubedeep Ok and I forgot I have 1 more question what size are those servos? I believe they are 9 grams but not sure? Thanks.

  • @MrDrob08 Yes the wing aileron + flap+ rudder are 9g, the Elevator is larger-- I used a Hi-Tech HS-85 I believe on my other 1550mm P-51, go with quality servos its worth the added cost!

  • I have an underpowered p 51 and the engine mounting broke from a handlaunching.(again it is underpowered and it broke when I 1st got it) Do you think that the mounting is safe to repair, or should I get a new one/have an experienced hobbyist look at it?

  • @MrItsmine91 Hey whats up-- Yes, should be easy if the mounting just came loose, if the mounting is cracked or broken you'll need to replace it. Remember the mounting plate is usually angled about 2 degrees right and 1 degree down to compensate for prop torque, get it as close as you can and use washers or spacers to acheive the proper motor position-- good luck!

  • Many said get kit version of Mig-29. I totally agree with you...custom servo extensions, complex wire routing, having to glue the fuse together would probably end up looking like it had been through a war before the 1st flight given all the wear and tear while building. BTW, recheck the BH video on the P-51, you'll see shortly after take-off that Pete cycles the retracts about 3 times. Someone asked Pete if retracts problematic..Pete said no, mistakingly flipped the wrong switch. Really ???

  • @akenedy Yeah you're right on Pete's vid-- thats what mine were doing, and check his landing-- you can see when its taxiing back the gear are not locked in down position, way too much free play just like my landing where the left gear binds...

  • Just one step behind you, I was planning to get both the P-51 and the Mig-29. I read many people commenting the ESCs burn out on ground test or 1st flight. I thought no problem, I'll just buy the RTF versions and replace the ESCs with better ones before 1st flight. But now knowing the retracts are also likely to be problematic as well...not acceptable. Perhaps waiting for the 3rd or 4th generation production batch to see if they can get things straightened out...what a ridiculous headache.

  • @akenedy Thats the way to go-- the gear on the P-51 I found at HK made by Change Sun, $27.99 a pair not bad! As for the MiG those screw drive gear are really sweet-- I'm sure I just got a bad set and BH seems to step up every time I have an issue. For sure good idea to replace the ESCs-- the stock electrics on most of these are crap. The MiG I bought was supposed to be upgraded, now its being built I'm just waiting for it to be 're-delivered'! Long tragic story- I ordred it on December 22;-(...

  • Am I understanding your commentary correctly...you also have the Mig-29, and the retractable landing gear on both the P-51 and and the Mig-29 were defective to the point where you had to request replacements from BH ?? If so, all I can say is that these planes are not ready for prime time yet, they need to go back to the drawing board on the electronic components (retracts & ESCs). Suprising since in your video you show the retracts on the P-51 working perfectly.

  • @akenedy So I thought also-- Watch my maiden-- you can see the retracts never retracted fully, and did not lock out on gear down and yes BH sent replacements which work fine(took 2 times they sent wrong gear twice), and yes the screw drive gear on my MiG-29 were DOA BH sending working ones this week, but I think I just got a bad set. The P-51 is a beauty-- highly recommended even with bad gear. As for MiG I would say buy PNP or RTF mine was Kit- forget the kit version on this one.

  • @akenedy On the MiG it requires way too many specialty parts which are not easy to find- ie correct servos with lead length, Y connectors etc... Kit does not come with LEDs so that sucked, does not come with smoke bombs...anyway mine was a horror story from another seller who drop shipped it to me from BH, the instruction booklet was a JOKE!! This plane is VERY complicated and the manual is small and only pictures--TOTALLY USELESS!! Anyway its a great looking plane-- go with the PNP

  • did this fly well any tips when puting together and did you change anything from stock cheers aaron, and any problems you encoutered??

  • @MrXygtho351 Yes flies insane! This is a beauty of a P-51, even though I really like FMS, this has nicer detail. I flew it all stock, see my maiden 'Blood in the water: Captain America maidens the P-51' I had a few issues on the build, the factory installed center post nut on the vert stab was fitted with a 2.5mm nut instead of a 3mm, I had to melt it out of the plastic piece and insert the correct 3mm nut. The main gear were defective, BH just shipped replacements. For the price it INSANE!

  • Just got one, it is a fabulous scale plane. My only issue is as you say the instruction manual. Just useless. Other problem was the decals. I think the guys just applied them with gloves. Broken, not at the right place.... Anyway, not sure to go with BH anymore as they don't want to send back a set.

Now waiting for the better window and will do the maiden flight.

  • @yanmare Ha-- I thought the manual was useless on this P-51!? -- you should see the manual that came with the Giant LX MiG-29! OMG-- ridiculous-- I was sent the kit version, totally complicated build--so USELESS its almost funny!!! Anyway check out my maiden-- super cool plane, but my main gear were defective-- BH just sent replacements-- just keep bugging them-- its the ONLY way... Did you get the maiden in?

  • Lets see some flying! I can't wait to see this bird in the air!

  • @superjet110 Yeah soon-- I lost my camcorder! I'm walking past his beauty 10 times a day cringing with no camera for the maiden. BUT-- I just won a SONY HDR-SR7! Look for the maiden soon.

  • Just waiting for a cameraman, and weather...Also I cranked the prop on tight and now worried the motor mount needs to be tweaked a little to the right and can't remove the prop! May just go for it as soon as cameraman is free since my camcorder was stolen...

  • Gonna fly it soon?

  • @superjet110, yeahhhhh

  • That is one heck of a model. Glad to hear it went together well. Also glad you still have good luck with BH.

  • @Ispintechno1 This BH P-51 is just a beauty-- I'd rate it higher than the FMS and at a better price-- we'll have to see how she flies. Look for the maiden this week...
