We have a PC that uses 10 watts (no NComputing!) but it's supposed to be 8 watts, the only thing that makes it use up more power is the monitor, keyboard, and mouse (speakers?). Hooking up an NComputing access to it would be awesome though (can only support maybe 3 people lol).

If Windows XP and 7 can only be used to VDI, why Vspace allows multiple sessions 1:N when being used with these OS? It is very clear that they keep on supplying multiterminal products to be used with XP and Windows 7.

2) NComputing keep on selling Multiterminal versions to Windows XP and Windows 7 market. They are driving their users to believe they are not doing anything wrong about Microsoft´s licensing. They say Windows XP and Windows 7 should be used only with VDI architecture 1:1, however their unique products that can be used on VDI is L series, but the X series and U series products are also available for download to run on XP and 7.

No se si sea el mismo sistema, pero se de algunos Ciber que trabajan con este sistema y no les he escuchado queja la reduccion en costos, energia, espacio, torres, y ahorro en los costos de las licencias. El kit de licencias para el win7 y el office 2010 oscila entre los 750 mil pesos para cada equipo, no hay licencias multiusuarios. Creo que pedir una demostracion antes de comprar seria saludable, sobretodo para entender cuales son los requerimientos minimos del servidor.

y para concluir el precio no se justifica tanto con la del precio de un PC normal, sin considerar el costo del monitor, teclado y mouse que este l230 tambien lo requiere.

por lo tanto de acuerdo a esta experiencia en mi opinion sirve solo para aplicaciones por no decir una sola aplicacion que no requiera de casi nada de procesador ni memoria, solo asi creeria que funcionaria de una manera menos tortuosa, o en su defecto para hacer consultas de informacion de un sistema transaccional

lo mas extrano de todo es que conetar una memoria USB este tambien hacia que se bloquee el equipo y por ende todos los conectados al hosts, y por el ultimo habia en ocacion que ya no funcionaba nada ya que habia q bajar actualizaciones de sofware para que funcione el hosts como para sus respectivos micro pcs.

En la empresa q trabajo compraron 5 equipos de estos, pero al instalar y empezar a trabajar el CPU que hacia de hosts se quedaba totalmente paralizado, las aplicaciones que se ejecutaban era: su sistema cliente servidor, ofimatica, correo e internet, lo extrano que el equipo se quebada congelado de 2 a 3 veces por dia, por lo tanto habia q apagar el equipo en su totalidad perdiendo la informacion ingresada en las terminales

Enserio haz probado esto?, en la empresa en donde trabajo lo acaban de ofrecer y la verdad yo no confío mucho en eso.

por ejemplo yo tengo un pc con un procesador core 2 duo de 2.6 GHz y 4 de ram y hay veces en que lo elevo a más del 50% con programas de offimatica y diseño.

Claro con lo que veo que comentas y que es algo obvio pues cuando me pidan mi punto de vista les diré que no.

VAYA ME SIENTO BIEN... HE SALVADO UN ALMA....JAJAJAJAJAJA...

La "solucion" que encontramos para "convivir" con esta tortura (perdon tecnologia) fue montar una pc virtual con vmware y darle botonazo virtual aprox. cada 3 dias, y tenemos otras pc virtuales como backups, ya que irremediablemente el SO de tanto apagon y aparte, no se porque, se vuelven muy lentos, pues termina muriendo.

Se me olvido dar un punto a favor de estas terminales: Ahorran Energia Elextrica XD.

If you want to use for gaming or graphical software, diskless solution is better than NComputing since that diskless desktop possess processor, RAM, & graphic card which is essential for all the heavy loaded programs.

I have been using n computing L300 for about 2 yrs in a commercial tire business.

I have about 4 work stations to handle my customers,inventory,invoicing, and many other apps. The L300 has worked flawlessly for over 2 yrs except for general maintenance and upgrades. I have this network running on a supermicro intel quad core server 2x 250gb hd's on raid, and 8gb of ram. I have this running on server 2003.

These units where not built for gaming period they are design for apps

This is a lie. My company started testing Ncomputing 2 years ago. And the stations will stop allowing you to logon. We have to format an reinstall the OS about every 6 months or sooner to repair it. The ncomputing people have been to our facility twice and can not fix this issue.

@bophed Does not surprise me, that they would over hype this, my quad core AMD Phenom, uses most of it's CPU resources just running some 3D cad software, with Nividia cards in SLI mode. and that's using XP. they have this all preloaded off an HD or SSD, and not processing in real time over a network, sounds like a big joke if ya ask me.
