Manson generally attracts a lot of unwanted attention from mainstream media - he's used as a poster boy for fear and the media use him as a scapegoat. The media targeted him during the aftermath of the Columbine Massacre.
What gets me is, Lady Gaga is promoted despite the fact she has the same outlandish over the top style as Manson, but because Manson is a rock n' roll singer he is made out to be an outcast.
