  • Amish people are more modern them I thought. I even seen them in a restaurant I went to 2 summers ago. There buggy was parked in the parking lot.

  • That's only 1 of the 4 verses.

  • Fascinating- thank you for sharing!

  • @ideologger You are welcome!

  • Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing..I have such a profound interest and deep respect for the Amish. They are a wonderful people..I wish one could become Amish if they were not born such...It would be a great sacrifice but some people would be willing to do it.

  • My hubby grew up Amish... he said the young boys would run around the church outside, and could get all the way around on the first "Oh" of this song. (This was a rare Amish settlement that had a church building.)

  • This is something special that not everyone will get the chance to hear. Thank you for sharing it with us.

  • @maddy6able You are welcome!

  • how disrespectful

  • @bluntsboobsbongs You mean your username?

  • @bluntsboobsbongs filming the Amish is also incredibly disrespectful as they view it as graven images.

  • @bluntsboobsbongs I am Amish and I think its wonderful!!!

  • What is this person like stalking Amish families?

  • @ABlackbear No Mam!

  • I don't understand what I am seeing. Are Amish traditionally found shopping in the city and eating out?

  • @OneFabFisher They are changing over time. Of course they do shop at stores these days.

  • @mrdeleted - they do? And watch videos and eat out? They are driving cars too? For some reason, that just seems a little sad. Maybe because of the image they held for so long and seeing them do these things shows a compromise and letting the world in slowly. Of course these things are not sins in any way but it just seems foreign to see Amish out and about in the world. Do they have electricity, bank accounts, cell phones and internet now too?

  • @OneFabFisher Well there are different sects or "levels" of Amish (I grew up Amish), and some are allowed to own a truck for their construction business if they hire someone to drive the truck. They can have a cell in that phone, but can't take it into the home. Yes they do have bank accounts, but the internet is mostly used at the library if it is allowed, but some Amish owned businesses do have the internet... They just have someone else use the computer. Hope this helps!

  • Some of these are not Amish some are just Mennonite...For example the ones looking at the movies....Why would an Amish watch a movie??

  • @VirginianWarrior1990 That is incorrect, but they were probably on their "running around" phase.

  • O Gott Vater, vir loben dich (Oh God our Father, we love you)

Und deine Gute priesen (and praise your goodness)

Die du O Herr so gnaidiglich (Which oh Lord so graciously)

Un uns nie hast beveisen (On us newly has shown)

Und hast uns here zusammen gefircht (and did lead us here together)

Uns zu vemanned durch dein Wort (to admonish us with your Word)

Gib uns genade zu deisen (give us grace to accomplish this)

  • Hearing this puts me back in church sitting next to my cousin John. If I had not been so scared to use my phone when I had gone for a weekend visit in Oct I would have been able to get some good audio of many good songs. I did go to a "singing" but I was too scared of being seen using my phone so did not use it the whole weekend. Thank you so much for sharing this because I needed to hear this.

  • @Intocable8306 Yes my wife is complaining that it puts her to sleep... But for me it just reminds me of the Amish church.

  • This is pretty relaxing something to put onto when your sleeping.

  • I like the style of singing. It is a type of plain song, which I guess is an appropriate style for plain people.

It struck me that we didn't hear anyone singing off key.

  • @erra404 Yes, it is a sort of soothing tune that can relax you. I know I kept falling asleep in church when I was young, and listening to this again, I know why!

I do like the faster songs they sang at young people's singings. I should try to take my video camera into one such singing. (It is the Swartzentruber Amish version of "rumspringa")

  • I have learned a lot from your website about the Amish people. Thank you for sharing with us!

  • @tubingonthetube hey just thought you might like to check the reply I made to erra404's comment.

  • @mrdeleted: Thank you so much!
