  • " i cant settle but she may"

  • "Could you settle to shoot me?

Or have you picked your target yet?

    Hey Sandy"

    D C B

    A G# A

  • Skip to :48 to start the song

  • somebody get that guy out of his fucking chair. hes not playing an unplugged show

  • The guy on the drums is the guy from Home Improvement! :D

  • Just amazing music, I wish more music was this good, maybe some of it would make it's way onto the radio.

  • @kigster18 yeah, it is far from a known fact that the lyric is "can you settle to shoot me". That seems to be the accepted version, but a lot of people thought he said "don't you talk back" as well, which clearly isn't the case in this video. As for the meaning of the song, there is a lot of debate on that as well. I've read conflicting theories on that as well. Until i hear it from Mark himself, I have drawn my own conclusions.

  • That thing of the lyrics just doesn't matter. The thing is that mystic vibe that Polaris brings to all of ourselves, Mike just bring happiness yo our souls, and that is what we should enjoy. Fuckin child music. And is not a bad label. I wish i was a child.

  • To me in the video it sounds like the "unknown lyrics" are "I think it's how it should be"... makes way more sense and even matches better than this "settle to shoot me" crap. :)

  • @snakes80 you should know that it's already a known fact that the lyric is "can you settle to shoot me" right? If you knew what the song was about you would understand

  • @nk3007 RIGHT

  • That 2nd guitar player is either a relative of Mark, or has some blackmail video of Mark doing something horrible, because he has absolutely no business being on stage.

  • hahahaha the drummer looks exactly like Al from home improvement.

  • CAN YOU SETTLE TO SHOOT ME IT ALL SEEMS SO FUCKING OBVIOUS NOW!!!

  • Richard Karn can play drums??

  • @TittyTittyBangBangXX that was my reaction

  • @TittyTittyBangBangXX I just searched for an hour or so to re-find this comment. Laughed once again. Pure Gold.

  • gotta say i like the pete and pete version (polaris) better

  • This is such a great version... I am really impressed by how the musicians can do this song so many different ways, and it still sounds like the same song, just slightly tweaked... it's great, makes me listen to every version.

  • He should play with better musicians, i play better than the 2nd guitar and thats says a lot. The drums just regular.

But i love everything that Mark does, even though i think he should get back with Polaris.

    Cheers from Chile

  • @Kudell46and2 God bless earthquakes!

  • I would so dress as artie, glasses and all, and do the awesome one-legged super-hero stance on the stage FTW

  • @TerrorDomeRules And I would be Ms. Fingerwood, Big Pete's math teacher who thought 2 was her mother.

  • Mark needs to p`lay with better musicians, i think the other guitarplayer and the drums werent in tune with him. He still has it, he should get together with polaris again!!!!

  • the drummer looks like Richard Karn who plays al on home imporvement

  • no one jumped off of the bass drum

  • @KillingJoke43 nor was there a flying lawnmower

  • I loved Pete & Pete

  • @Kingofironfist25: we all did.

  • Pete & Pete was a silly show

  • OMFG.. AWESOME!

  • This vid pretty much confirms the "unknown lyrics" as "can you settle to shoot me?"

  • @travelsonic i have herd him say on an other video cant say that it shouldent be so i think he likes to play with it

  • @travelsonic I knew it all along. Mulcahy rules!

  • @travelsonic eh, i think it's actually could you settle

  • @travelsonic i always though the "or have you picked your target yet" gave it away.

  • @travelsonic i always thought it was "yada yada ya shimbay" lol

  • @squall600 I always heard 'shimbay' too hahah...thought it might be somethin like 'could you sail the shipmate'

  • @Durandal1717 :) yeah its definitely "a shimbey"

  • @travelsonic I can sail the shimba

  • Wow, I can't believe his voice still sounds the same way it did over 10 years ago :D

Polaris and the other band he made faded away, but it's great Mark still plays the classics we all love.

  • This is stunning, look out for the tribute album to support him since his wife passed, REM, RADIOHEAD etc

  • would you happen to know if he is touring?

  • My Second Cuzins Name Is Mark Mulcahy

  • Voice reminds me of The Pixies.

  • Far from it.

  • voice reminds me of david bloomberg

  • @Oxycontin

the rythem section reminds me of frank black.

  • IT seems like he just plays shows in the Northeast.

I wish he'd come to Baton Rouge or something.

  • id be dancing my fucking ass off if i was there

  • this has like a punk spin on it

  • Oh man! I would LOVE to see them live.

  • same!

  • =O =O =O

  • hey what he said when he said like apperaing shelly to show me...? or can you settel to shoot me..?? its a mystery... :(

  • can you settle to shoot me or have you picked your target yet?

  • His voice hasn't changed a bit.

Makes me want to crai :')

Seriously, I fucking love his voice.

    Viva '90s

  • this song is the love of my life

  • Wow, I can't believe this is what the band looks like now...

  • what's up with the vocals?

  • What are you talking about? It sounds exactly like the original version.

  • u kiddin me?

check my profile, i've upload the original one, fix ur ears man! compare it!

  • im not saying his bad, i mean, as the original singer, he should sing it properly.

  • How do you sing something "properly?" Just because it doesn't sound like the accepted studio take, singers do like to change up the way their songs are sang, that's what can make a live version better, or I guess worse, depending.

  • I understand, but really, he can sing better...

  • Oh, well if you put it that way, I guess it could be said that his voice is of question in this performance. Sorry if I misinterpreted what you said.

  • dudes, really the guy is what 45 now? This was recorded, oh... I'd say nearly 18 years ago. He's doing fine for that, appreciate both.

  • Why? When have you ever heard Mick Jagger sing the songs the way they're on the record? Seriously, live performance is about not knowing what you're getting, and experiencing something different from everyone else.

  • No one mentioned abt performing songs the way they were on the records, it's about playing it BETTER! as the original singer, just want em' to perform live BETTER!

  • wow, that was horrible.

  • Triste.

  • is that the original singer of polaris?

  • That's the only singer that's ever been in Polaris.

  • awful version...sad, really

  • I threatened to glass him in a pub when I saw him play unless he told me what the third line was.

  • The third line is:

"Can you settle to shoot me"

  • but is it?!

  • i know the lyrics.. it's "I could'nt settle a shimbee"then go's on 2 say.. but have you bit your dog again hey sandy ai ai ai ai dus ya dog bite hey sandy....lol do i win a prize

  • Shimbee? Are you fucking serious? He says, "Could you settle to shoot me?"

  • ha ha ha,you didnt comment on the dog and bite "lyrics"....i put a LOL in my comment to show it was tonge in cheek p.s. dont swear at me u fucker

  • no actually the line is unknown, as admitted by Mark Mulcahy himself.

    Wikipedia the song.

  • i know it's unknown...but i said what it sounds like to me in my comment..but some people are convinced they know what the lyrics are ..when they dont...true or false?

  • Haha, that was a good one, for sure.

  • rofl@shimbee

  • Can you settle to shoot me or have you picked your target yet?

  • I miss Pete and Pete, its about the only thing me and my brother Matt ever watched together when I was little.

    ,Ben

  • te amo

  • The guy on lead guitar(not mulcahy) is playing it wrong.

  • It's over a decade since they made the song. I doubt they remember how to play it. Even in the beginning, Mark sees which chords are right...

  • hes playing down in merriden connecticut, ill be there!

  • I almost can't believe its Mark Mulcahy himself performing his legendary Pete and Pete theme song!

  • One of my favorite songs ever.

  • Great, are this Polaris's guys?

  • Mark Mulcahy is incredible!
