@MrOrklord Don't talk rubbish! Yes, some great Westerns were made in Europe - Leone's films in particular but also some of the other Italian directors. However, no list of great Westerns is complete without including the works of John Ford, Howard Hawks, George Stevens, Anthony Mann, Sam Peckinpah, Clint Eastwood, to name but a few. Sure, we can disagree about Top 10s but, please, don't make such obviously dumb comments.
You have to be a young guy! I won't mention the obvious movie that CAN'T be on this list. The others are good westerns but you have to see more of them. Try "The Cowboys" or "Will Penny" for classics that don't make most peoples top ten. Good job though on your video.
@chinoverija Thanks for the random cliche. I hope you aren't applying for the job of arbiter of which people are allowed to express opinions and which ones aren't. I suspect you are underqualified for the position.
@MrFred757 Nope, I think that job is already covered by politicians and catholics wich unfortunately are in a much better position to do that than me, or anyone else why we are at it. Or so they say. Anyway following the topic here, confessing how a disgusting pastiche of low quality movie making, cheesy dialogues and bad acting (coming surprisingly from such a great casting) is better at your eyes than a myth, makes you a perfect candidate for being spanked to death with boiled asparragus.
The quick and the dead... Young guns... AMERICAN OUTLAWS... You must be quite a courageous gentleman, sucking so much but deciding to show it to the whole Internet.
Apparently all these "geniuses" making negative comments missed the small word "my" in your title!
I like The Quick and the Dead a lot. I like it a whole lot more than I like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid or any spaghetti western you care to name.
I also like Silverado, Rio Lobo, and Big Jake. I am a big fan of El Dorado and Rio Bravo, too. The Jimmy Stewart/Anthony Mann films are great, too. That's why they call them opinions. Everyone can have one. Good for you, writerchick44.
I'm thinking this is a woman's list for a twenty something who has never seen any old westerns prior to 2000. Quick and the Dead is a mildly good movie but has one fatal flaw - it has a female gunfighter (Sharon Stone). Good premise but preposterous heroine. Hard to take women action figures seriously. Quick and Dead may make some top 100 lists but none of the other choices - not even top 200 lists of most serious critics. Unforgiven tops; Shane second and the rest open to dispute.
Hooray; I am not the only one who loves The Quick and the Dead. But first of all, the song you play in the background of the clip doesn't fit. Yes, I get it - they sing about a girl who's a cowboy. But the style the song is in completely assrapes the mood the movie itself has.
Second; why the hell don't you take the time in this video to explain why you like them? To just show some random footage is... lame.
Either you never watched a 'real' western or you wrongly named the video... It should be top 5 NEW westerns.... In my opinion westerns are no more made.... Because you simply can't have the likes of John wayne or sergio leone anymore... maybe I am biased too but for me western is rugged and old :)
If you consider yourself a Western fan, you absolutely must see the following: Pale Rider, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, The Wild Bunch, and The Searchers. Just a few, but after you've seen those, you'll be blown away and wont look back at these.
the quick and the dead??? better than young guns? hahahahahahha are you a fag?? or a woman??? q and the dead is the most stupid unrealistic piece of crap ever filmed, even worst than that piece of shit silverado ,
@TheMosseh Songs used in order were: Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy by Big & Rich, Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi, Wild West Show by Big & Rich, and That Girl is a Cowboy by Garth Brooks. Oh and the credits song was Red Dirt Road by Brooks & Dunn
@Sirwastealot yes at one time keifer sutherland (jack Bauer) actually retiered from Acting to go on tour in rodoes. haha sounds wierd but he does alot of westerns, the cowboy way young guns on and two. you get the picture.
Like i said before, these are just some movies that I liked. I'm not actually a huge fan of the older westerns, and don't know a lot about them. Awesome video!! I love these movies, well except for 3:10 to Uma which I've never seen, but I plan to eventually watch it. Lovin the songs also, Big and Rich, Bon Jovi, and Garth Brooks rock. Jesse James and Jim are the best looking out of the bunch I must say. :) Oh, I almost forgot Leo in The Quick and the Dead.
