The body seems a little too big to be a raccoon, if you ask me. Then again, there's nothing to compare the body to. Honestly, it does look somewhat dog-like, in my opinion. I have a pitt-bull and the body structure of this creature is reminiscent of my dog. The saltwater could have decayed its muzzle and paws, causing it to look flippered or bird-like. The water also could've swelled the body.

But, then again, it could be a monster :)

2nt, everyone knows there is no beak. The animal merely has the flesh decayed off of the front of its snout exposing the bones beneath. The teeth in the upper jaw have fallen out, leaving the appearance of a beak to people that do not know better.

The facts are, everyone that actually saw the thing in person said it was about 2-3 feet long (when they held up their hands they actually indicated something closer to two feet) and was the size of a small dog. A raccoon fits rather nicely into that size range.
