  • I up for a roll in some play called " Dogs see God". They wanted to hear if i could do New Yorker accent. So, here i am.

  • damm ! thts messed up..thats how new york jews and italians sound like..then they come to florida and everyone here thinks that ALL new yorkers are suppose to sound like that..shameful

  • so the word Sir, turns to the word Soy? Thats weird.

  • @OriginalRockstarJosh nah it's more like a s-aaah. hahaha.

  • @merveilleuxcameron haha, S-aaaaah!! LOL. Its weird, In Connecticut, we don't talk like this.. I lived very close to NYC.. and the dialect was so different than this.. I wonder why?

  • @OriginalRockstarJosh bc ct has class? ha just foolin. sort of. I actually think a lot of it has to do with wealth. Like Manhattan-bred, well-off kids never have accents at all. My thoughts, at least. :p

  • @merveilleuxcameron Ohh yeah.. thats interesting. I never thought of it like that before!

  • The only people I heard tlking this way is when I was on xbox live talking to Rhode Islanders they talked that way but not NYC that's bizarre. I think the furtha up coast the less R's exist like in Maine cahhhhh. Just like New Orleans and some other country folks I've listen to drop R's and make 'em two syllables like here (he-yah) instead of hea.

  • im trying out for adilade

  • yes this is a big help im doing guys and dolls for my school musical

  • well most people are looking at this to follow a play like guys and dolls or newsies like me, which takes place in the 1940's or earlier. so far its helping me a bunch!

  • did u mean to release this video in the 50's cause no one talks like that here.

  • nobody talks like that in NY where do you get this from stop going to school to learn how to talk like us just come to NY and get some real knowledge

  • @718javon YEEES I was thinking about the same.... I think this video is quite strange

  • BRONX RAGE

  • this sounds like german

  • nd hurt becomes hoit

  • this is really helpfull! :)

  • goigeous honey

  • we don't talk like that in NY anymore. That's a long time ago.

  • no one says "poifect".. or "soich" and im from ny.

  • omg look at 44 sec. lol

  • your stupid lol no one says it like that in ny

  • Big-nosed rubberfaced basterd!

  • this is a terrible guide. poifect coive? woim? you kidding? i cant even explain it. we say the r, but its muffled and mushed with the other letters? need to learn NY, take a walk around howard beach or anywhere for that matter and listen to the locals!

  • Don't let me catch you slippin' lady

  • "Oith Woim"?! Even though I´m not english or american I can tell this is way off. George Costanza would never say it like that!

  • i actually heard one of my classmates back in 8th grade talk like this. its just that hes a fat ITALIAN

  • I'm sorry but this is completely false. Maybe if you're jewish... MAYBE. but no.

  • what the fuck? i've lived in NY my entire life and the only time i've heard anybody say oith woim is in a corny ass movie

  • this is just an insult.

  • im so affended im from NY n i dont say oith woim thumbs up if u agree

  • lol i live in NYC. i've never heard anyone speak this way. this is more of a Boston accent. Or if you're a Jewish or Italian New Yorker.

  • ummmm... FAIL.

i've lived in new york my WHOLE LIFE and ive NEVER heard anyone talk like this.

you sound more like a mobster from 1940 when you do this acccent, and its not even completely correct for that.

this is offensive to everyone from new york.

  • @brianna26xx ikr im soo affended

  • you have obviously never been to new york.. ive lived here for 15 years and never heard ANYONE talk like that

  • i used to talk like this when I was a kid and had an lazy r

  • Coitanly!

  • Um... okay there is NO way I freaking sound like that. She sounded like a cartoon character. We sometimes do those things in NY and NJ, but if we did it every word like that last sentence then we'd all sound like toons

  • lolz!!!! >w<

  • F

  • ... Archie Bunker may have 'oi'ed his 'er's, but nobody in NY talks this way, and if it's a historic accent, for one it was probably limited to a class and ethnicity, and in any case I think it's a bit caricatured.

  • wtf is a oyethwiem????

  • yeah... we dont talk like this

  • I lived in Brooklyn most of my life and I NEVER heard anyone say oy for er. NEVER. This is a caricature of NY speak. Or, perhaps, the way people in NY USED to speak, but I'm 58, lived in NY until I was 45 and never heard anyone speak like this. SO annoying!

  • @gentlewomanM She is exaggerating the accent to demonstrate the differences, but yes, New Yorkers do sound like this to everyone else.

  • I lived in Brooklyn for most of my life and I NEVER heard anyone speak the way this woman is telling people to talk. She has some of it down, but this sound, especially, is a characature of NY speak. So annoying!

  • i am european... is it joke?

  • @Sunshine7600 nah she's just bad.

  • @Sunshine7600 Not sure if it's a joke... but it's definately WRONG

  • I live in new york and i know a lot of people in each part of new york and ive never heard anybody talk like this....

  • the godfather 3 where the assassin shot the godfather through his shoulder and the bullet caught his daughter, that made me cry

  • I don't think ANYONE in New York talks like this, you wanna hear a real new york accent, watch the Godfather.

  • oith woirm?!?!?!??!ady you are a b**ch

  • Lmaoo . IS this a joke ?

  • Im going to be in a musical with my company and this really helped :)

  • Amazing. I live in Brooklyn and this is exactly how we all speak. We even type like that. Spat Awn! Rube.

  • BROOKLYN RAGE!

  • oith woim?

seriously?! Poifect? Soich lol hahahah The oith woim had a poifect coise?

  • GUYS!!!! this vid is mainly for actors preparing for one of the MANY plays set in old town new york. im about to perform guys and dolls and this is helping me talk like adilade.

  • @twihard1210 You'll get a lot better instruction from Bugs Bunny. No joke.

  • @twihard1210

People need to realise that 1. Everyone has a different view about accents and 2. That every time someone teaches accents there WILL be some things that are grossly exaggerated. Otherwise you wouldn't learn anything. The only way to really learn an accent is to live in a place where that accent is spoken.

  • @twihard1210 it would be good for like a L.E.S or bay ridge/marine park sorta deal from like the 20s-backwards to like 1840

  • @twihard1210 it would be good for like a L.E.S or bay ridge/marine park sorta deal from like the 20s-backwards to like 1840

though this one is a little jewish like a midwood sorta thing

  • @twihard1210

EXACTLY! Thank you. Doing Mack and Mabel and this really helps :)

  • @twihard1210 YES!! I am auditioning for Guys and Dolls and this really helped me.

  • @twihard1210 Omg, Thats why I am here. That exact performance. Guys and dolls :D

  • @Kazlom I am also here because of Guys and Dolls LOL.

  • @twihard1210 same here! But im tryna learn for Sky(:

  • me too i am for guys and dolls

  • Uhm...imma New Yorker and all I gotta say is that New Yorkers don't say oithworm! They say earthworm ...I was born in NY, and I'm Italian. EPIC FAIL...!

  • mostly italians tawk like that. but iThink she did a HORRIBLE JOB!!!!!!

  • don't you people realize???? SHES TRYING TO HUMILIATE NEW YORKERS!! old bitch!!

  • Actually I have NEVER Heard anyone saying oithwoim...Neither in any American TV series nor at Uniersity I study... I just hope that it's not true because it sounds really weird!

  • THIS IS VERY UNTRUEEE

  • It's for actors, fucktards. Onstage if you're portraying an accent you do the stereotype of it, a caricature. Most people from any region don't talk like that region's stereotype. I'm from Minnesota and I wasn't offended by Fargo.

  • LMFAOO! i live in new york and havent really heard this accent around here...... lol

  • wtf? perfect becomes poifect and search becomes soich? wtf? this bitch is CRAZY!!!

  • wtf? earth worm? becomes oit woim?

  • that sounds like the old lady who work in my school's mailroom. I bet she is at least 50 yrs old though.....

  • What the fuck? I'm from New York and I have never heard anyone speak like this at all. This is just a stereotypical accent.

  • u come to new york talking like this, people will think u r nuts and most likely get your ass kicked

  • o right i forgot

  • thois a fucking tutoiial foi this?

    soiyusly...

  • what you got to be kidding me... no one talks that way around here....

  • New York Dialect?...as in New York, USA, Planet Earth?? =/...cuz i dont think so

  • hahaaha..I live in brooklyn when I was little and i don't I mean never heard of people talk like in this video

  • if you move to new york you need to get use to these accents or you wont understand most people talking in new york. so actually this helps alot!

  • @stuckin80ss If I was used to this, why would it sound so odd to me? o.o

  • Or sorry read this wrong.

  • This is fucking ridiculous. I can't even believe she thinks she's helping people.

    Goddammit.

  • SHE SOUNDS LIKE BUGS BUNNY!

  • wtf when did i freaking start sounding like this,oh yea, never.this is the biggest loud of crap i ever herd

  • I'm a great fan of that medical program set in New York, OI

S: I ddint know the oith woim with the poifect coive played baseball...

  • Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat in the world? XDD

    soich? WTF?

  • LOL, first = foist

  • hahaha this is absurd...if she is a specialist she should be embarassed. This is so inauthentic it's actually not even that funny, it's just stupid. Follow this if you'd like to sound like a 1920s gangster.

  • @rappaccinisdaughter Haha yeah xD

  • Actually, this is how the stereotypical New Yorker would sound in really old movies.

  • I'm not from New York i'm also not from the United States, i'm from Canada. I travel to New York every year mostly Long Island, and i assure you this isn't how a new yorker speaks at all. I think if you want to learn how to speak like a new yorker then go to New York and study the accent. The same goes with the British accent you did.

  • since when do we sound like this? you mean stereotypical italian new yorker which isnt even that drastic. damn

  • Sounds more like New England than New York

  • wtf!! orth wooom... lol

    Is dis some joke?

  • BROOKLYN RAGE!!!

  • She sound like dhat lady from the nanny cuz new yorkers dont sound shyt like dhis she also sound like "I thought i saw a putty cat" lml

  • @T0rm3ntr lol she does

  • You sound like a sweat hog from welcome back Carter. No one speaks like that anymore!

  • are you kidding me?

  • Im from New York and i dont talk like that that because im from Brooklyn and we dont talk like that so i dont know what part of New York she is talking about

  • THIS IS RETARDED. I'm from NY born and raised and I don't know who the hell talks like this. She sounds like the crazy hair woman from the comedy series Taxi.

  • I always thought this was more of a Brooklyn accent.

  • the only person that sounds like this is fran drescher from the nanny

  • no one since Damon Runyon speaks like this. this is Brooklyn in the 1890s. Bogus

  • omg she's gone onto destroy the american accent too

  • Sure Moe Soiently!

    LOLOLOLOLOL

    This Lady is batty!

  • eoith wyum.

    LUL

  • You noobs don't get mad. This would help in acting and what not.

  • For someone like me from louisiana, i may have a southern accent ( i think i cant tell) this is over exaggerated and helps. Seriously guys its obviously not to go to ny and say your a native its for actors.

  • @AdrianaxPiranha i disagree because even if it's for acting it's gotta seem realistic. Very few people speak with such a strong brooklyn accent nowdays, sounds like something out of the godfather. There's a difference between saying it slowly so it's easy to learn, and completely exaggerating and morphing the accent into something unheard of. Watch her "british accent" videos they are ridiculous, and just reinforce the fact that so many americans seem to think all british people speak posh :S

  • this broad has no idea what she's talkin about. If you visit Brooklyn or any other part of NYC you're gonna get your ass kicked if you talk this way.

  • think she's trying to teach stereotypical Jewish dialect

  • i have watched these tutorials a few times each just for laughs because im from nyc and this is the most absurd thing i have ever heard totally over the top and this is a "poifect" example of how it shouldnt be expert village it should jackass village

  • omfg, you are retarded

  • oithwoim? i have yet to meet one new yorker that talks like this. my man is straight outta queens and you can barely tell he has an accent.

    wht a stereotype.

  • lolol omg she is to funny

  • ummm ive lived in new york all my life...no one talks like that at all so what kinda crack u smokeing lady?

  • @emovampress34 i want a accent ; teach me?

  • "...why, coitainly bwoss!"

  • This lady has no idea what shes talkin about shes not from new york

  • This is the dumbest shit i've ever heard

  • I lived in Brooklyn for 42 years never heard anyone speak like that, probally the worst immitation of a New York accent I've ever heard. You even have a real N.Y accent or you don't it can't be taught especially from a non New Yorker like the woman in the video.

  • people havent talked like this since they stopped making popeye. what an idiot

  • the oith woim had a poifect coive! LMFAO i nearly fell off the chair laughing

  • archie bunker with a speech impediment.....nuff said.

  • haha thats funny

  • Me and my family have lived in New York or whole lives (some even from Brooklyn) and NONE of us speak like this. This woman makes New Yorkers sound like idiots! No one says "oith woim" we say "earth worm".

  • omg, why is everyone being so mean to this lady?!? Yes, not everyone has that thick an accent, but some people do. For example, everyone in Maine doesn't pronounce their "er" like an "aah" at the ends of words. Not everyone would say "lobstah." Some people do though.

  • @Mcafeegood222 it's not that people are trying to be mean, at least for the most part, it's just embarassing if you're a New Yorker and people from other areas are using this as a legitimate guide. this is no way represents a new york accent. "oith woim"? that sounds absurd.

  • @Mcafeegood222 "some people do" Hate to break the news to you as a native New Yorker NOBODY speaks like that and I mean NOBODY!!!

  • rly you're gonna follow this rule only when you're going toinga toinga toing on my dick

  • this is a fucking joke! haha thanks for the laugh...

  • hahahahahaha this is the funniest crap! No one around here talks like that! She sounds like a retarded irsih newspaper boy from jersey in the 1930s hahaha

  • you are so wrong.

  • Poifect? Soich? WTH!

  • Uhm, I'm from Long Island, my mom is from Queens, my aunt is from Manhattan, a good friend of mine from Staten Island, and I've spent a lot of time upstate. No one from New York sounds like that. Maybe the guy from the Honeymooners did, but that was just him. His wife didn't even sound like that....

  • barely anyone speaks with this heavy an accent. this is not expert at all.

  • you are so ugly

  • you sound like fucking tweety bird

  • @sachemlax13 ...or in her case "tweety boid" xD lol

  • You out-of-state yuppie transplants who speak like robotic news reporters think you have a Ny accent ? LoL and blacks/spanish who speak ebonics ? Nah, dont think so. The real NY dialect was formed by European immigrants (Irish, Italian, Jews, Germans) when the city was virtually all white. Thats a fact !

  • I dont know what u clowns are talkin about but she's right, this is original new york accent (though she's exxagerating a little).. Im talkin about the folks who have been here for generations. The part she messed up on was 'th' at the end of a word is just 't', the h is dropped.

  • thats an older Ny accent..my father spoke like that, he was from queens..i have not heard any one from my generation talk like this at all...

  • LOL. Oith woim? Yeah right.

  • Oith woim?

    Poifickt?

Where the hell did you grow up, Great Neck?

  • perfect eyes

  • you eyes are the best i have ever seen

  • lovely kneck

  • lOL soierch? LOL
