  • Why hasn't Melle Mel responded to Joe Budden the GOD EMCEE yet? Joe is the greatest of all time Mel. We all know you're scared to mention his name... Just like everybody else in the industry. And I don't want to hear whatever bullshit you old heads have to say about it.

  • The Greatest MC of all time - The Most Influential - Lyrically, he changed the game… Respect Due to the King; Grandmaster Melle Mel...

  • I'm looking at these comments and SOME of ya'll really need to study the HISTORY of HIP HOP because MEL MELLE was the first MC on wax to talk about stick up kids doing 8 yrs bid.

White Lines and other Hard Core sh*t, every other MC after that was just a BITER off of what he started. smh...

  • Im 49 so I can say this. A lot of young heads DON'T understand that MANY of these cats would not even be rapping HARD if it were not for this man. HE WAS THE FIRST TO TALK ABOUT HARD CAOR STREET LIFE IN 79 ON SUPERRAP, WHEN MANY OF TODAYS MC'S WERE SWIMMING AROUND IN THEIR FATHERS NUT SACK. HE CHANGED THE GAME FOREVER, JUST LISTENING TO HIS VERSES IN BEAT STREET THE GREATEST RAP EVER ,AND TELL ME MOST OF THE GEATEST DID NOT BITE OFF OF MEL MEL, C'MON NOW RESPECT TO THE KING OF HARDCORE HIP HOP.

  • Respect......Melle Mel still bringing the flames.....

  • Hey Melle Mel, we just did a song with a shout out to you Bro!!!

check it out and listnen to it

  • Grandmaster Flash was the DJ of the crew, Melle Mel one of the Furious Five

  • melle mel is grandmaster flash? it all makes sense now.

  • Still the greatest! grandmaster flash and the Furious five for life

  • Remember this one: I'm tha legend in leather, the lord of tha rhyme and if you can't see that you must be blind. I always wear black and I always will, cause I'm dressin for your funeral - Rhaaaaahhh

    Melle Mel tha Master Supreme!

  • What's sad is we'll never give him his credit and make a better way for him and Herc and the other's to benefit off this culture they helped to create.

  • I love HIP HOP! Pac & Big were two of the greatest but I have to give Mel a pass on saying he's the greatest because man HE IS MELLE MEL. Lyricist blueprint! He can say that & 50 or who ever has to acknowledge his legend.

  • Love it...he's still got the yellow security tag on his jacket....i think i see the shop owner in the distance

  • to truelly know what you love, You gotta look into it's roots.-DboiStyles

  • the incredible legend melle mel!!!

  • Mos Deff , Em , Immortal teck, cannibus , hopsin , the list goes on lyrically alot of people got Melle he aint close to the greatest im not sayin hes garbage he got skills but not worthy to be call the greatest

  • @gojetsandpackers Naw mayn that nigga was weak as hell. I've heard better freestyles mayn. Put him up against a freestyle battle I bet you he'll loose. Even BlindFury would take his ass out.

  • That nigga wearing an old ass name brand "PellePelle" he either stole it or plan on returning it with that tag hanging on the left sleeve, smh. FYI not because your mouth is moving doesn't mean your lyrics go hard. I was bussy watching that damn tag the whole time. Your 2 minutes of fame was lame.

  • @Passhun4Fasshun The lyrics he was rapping were good, man. Better than AYOOO I GOT MONEIZ AND CARS WITH THE WOMANZZ YEEAAHHHHHHHH

  • @Passhun4Fasshun If you are so concerned with the name brand of another man's clothes, you are either a fag, or you are exactly the kind of fools that people like Nas and Mos Def speak of. Gain some hip hop knowledge and history before you speak. Go listen to some Lil Wayne or Soulja Boy, you only need half a brain for that.

  • @mofogek lyrically he's not that great. Dont get me wrong he is good but not great.

I love his music but i feel that he's not the best.

  • @sclapione He's just lame. I like alot of his older songs but i feel that he is wasting his time. The message is one of my favorite songs but i feel that he need to sit down some where.

  • damn..tight rhymes...but why did he still have the tag on his coat??? was it rented?? thats fucked up.

  • This was 2007! What is Mel up to now?? In his time, he was the best!! He just had that 'Punch' that no other rapper had! Indeed, since, there have been alot of good rappers!!! But, to me. He was the original!

  • wow yo!

  • @MrPHARAOH18

    shame on you .

  • sorry but melle mel wasnt that good...

  • @MrPHARAOH18 stick to your kiddy uploads

  • Doesn't nearly get the plaudits he deserves. Legend.

  • why the fuck is BeatBox in my video suggestions?

  • yougbloods make me laugh when they talk trash bout the old school. no matter how it is sliced, flash & the furious five along with NYC made it and every other mc and region jumped on the band wagon. youngbloods think they too old to get spanked? learn some respect youngins.

  • Grandmaster Melle Mel...SHIT the name says it all...(Grandmaster) indeed!!!

  • @wcbombers21 There is supposed 2 B a comma between 'Grandmaster & Melle Mel' Ie. Grandmaster Flash & Melle Mel! I don't like it either!!

  • this is like the dis track from gza from the wutang clan to 50 cent

  • amazing that was amazing

  • Static Major freestyle Uk rap!! The unknown<<<<<< watch this

  • Yea son dats wat Im talkin bout.Da Great Melle Mell.Stil got it.

  • Im guessing he stole that jacket.. The tag is still on it

  • @theyear2102 yes i think its true because he is broke ass a motherfucker they can say what they want like he is the best he aint shit against pac and he know it too it doesnt make you the best if you started rap

  • nice priece shield.

  • This is a great example of a Pro

  • Mel can flow with the best of them!!!! Old school rules!!!!

  • FU Devious and ANY ignorant MF'er who doesn't know true hip-hop and it's history and it's masters!!! All were influenced by Mel/ Flash! Any shit goes nowadays and it all started and was opened up by dudes like Mel (Pryor, Bruce Lee). It's so ez for all to take shit 100 yrs. later and act like it's better andthe past was nuthin' when they smashed down the doors that allow you all in!! Peace

  • shit sucks

  • your a boss

  • how old r u??? 59 idk im srry u look lke it!!!!!

  • Mr. Mel just laid every1 str8 out from the dome! I laughed my arse off genious.

Broad in the back of the limo sayin my dick was hard like tryin t'

get p diddy to listen to a demo.......

The rap legend still kills it

    RHYMES 4 DAYS

  • He said he was greater than Krs "BUT didn't Krs take him out head to head ?"

  • He impressed me, he shows he still got a lil somethin somethin. At the same time, if you started hip hop with party jams and and lively shit, why conform to what these young cats is out here doin with the muderin and killin? It kinda shows Joe Buddens got to him with the comments he made.

  • What a fucking lame. All he ever talks about is how he "created hip hop" and "was the first one to call myself an MC". Yeah, we know. You say it in every fucking video. Just because you started something doesn't mean you're the best at it. And when he did "start" rapping, wasn't he rapping about peace, and stopping crime? Now he's rapping about shooting people. What a loser. No wonder he wouldn't answer Joe Budden by actually dissing him. Lyrically, Joe will eat him.

  • Stop being a hater fool!!!! Grandmaster Melle Mel is the legend of Hip Hop!!

  • for all you kids out there who sleep on artist like this! just stop and think!

    that's how it is done....PERIOD!!

  • mel was the man in the day, but why is he trying to be one of these new school rappers? he had his own style and it was dope but this aint him

  • mel rocks so damn well, on and on, hear him now and forever #1 mc on the motherf mic. does he say "now eat a jock" ? at 1:57, damn. melle mel rhyming over the wind!!

  • there are alot of dope rappers/mc's out there...biggie pac rakim krs one ect ect... but Melle Mel is the "architect of Hip Hop"... living legend.EVERY rapper right now was influenced by him weather they now it or not.. In my opinion pac and biggie both were way over rated.. Good rappers but not in my top 10 list..peace out !

  • he doesnt qet enouqht respect & recoqnition in my opinion..everyone should respect this quy; for those who dont knoe ya should listen to "the message"

  • he doesnt qet enouqht respect & recoqnition in my opinion..everyone should respect this quy; fir"the message"

  • "You a low-life, get offa my penis,

Swinging on balls like you tryin to call out Serena and Venus."

  • the KING

  • Biggie and 2pac were famous because they were shot

  • Comment removed

  • @krs10 pac was nuthin just a freeloader jumpin on the wagon,i respect every real hip hop artist Mele Mel and the furious 5 ARE REAL HIP HOP if it weren't for them there would never of been a tupac or any of the others

  • pac did alot for all his fans

he tells us how to deal with love with hate with beef with your enemies

with god with your faith with chasing money with the corupt police and goverment

NO OTHER RAPPER CAN DO THAT EVEN THE RAPPERS THAT STARTED HIPHOP

RIP 2PAC LOVE YOU SOO FCKNG MUCHH

  • @zaantjedam123 You've apparently never heard "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Melle Mel lays down more knowledge in that song than Rakim, KRS and Tupac did in their entire careers. Dumb ass!

  • the legend

  • @KKRS10 did he just said better then biggie and pac

nigga he can suck my dickk

    he aint shit against pac

  • @zaantjedam123 Yes he is and just deal with it ....KID !

  • @jokeesmurf1104 hahaha he isnt trust me i know

  • @zaantjedam123 "trust me i know" Whuuuut. I KNOW? I KNOW? HAHAHAHA HOW CAN U SAY SOMETHING SO DUMB LIKE THAT? "I KNOW" DID YOU GO TO HIP HOP COLLAGE OR WHAT? AHAHAHA

  • @mupsen123 no i did not went to a hiphop COLLEGE but what i am doing is listen to 2pac like my hole live and i really do know that pac is way better than melle mel

  • Wow !!! I can't believe this guy still goes around the same block for 35 years.. Tinton Ave in the BX : 23 park

  • OMG, you lose again. It's called METAPHOR. I'm done with you, young grasshopper. I cry for the youth.

  • so old dogs CAN learn new tricks!

Rap ain't all about rhyme and gangsterism, it's about metaphor, internal rhyme, assonance and cred.

  • lol no disrespect but i could melle mel in a battle especially if he gone wear that pelle pell jacket with rihnstones in it talkin all that gangsta shyt

  • @swaggaBfresh With that very comment, you lose before you begin. Plus with that cornball name you got, you really shouldn't be rhyming at all. Respect the architect. He's why you rap in the first place, since you obviously weren't listening to the video.

  • @julaybeeb i agree with u on my name lol made it when i was 16 ...but i said no disrespect dude just need to give it up tho he had his time ....he still a beast but i dont like him talkin this gangsta stuff aint good for the upcomin youth ...

  • @swaggaBfresh Damn bro, do you need a TRANSCRIPTION of the lyrics?!? Mel is NOT coming with gun talk! He's talking about killing with the MICROPHONE, with his RHYMES. This is not gangsta stuff, this is HIP-HOP! Ever seen a rap battle? Mel's is coming with battle raps. He is the ORIGIN of the first four letters of your name, and he still can come with it! Again, RESPECT THE ARCHITECT.

  • @julaybeeb Have ya mama running door to door cuz the paramedics couldnt clean your body fluids off the floor lol that shyt gangsta but aint it nothin positive he is an originator but still he need to be out doing some programs for the youth or somthn

  • @julaybeeb and at 0:40 mark u can look at his left hand area he still got the tag on his jacket lol....he need to grow up with that nonsense obviously he a follower like the rest

  • @swaggaBfresh nice spot man, wtf is up with that?

  • @CensorshipFTL lol man idk i guess if he ever need to sell that jacket on ebay ..he might get a descent price for it

  • melle mel rock so damn well. #1 mc

  • yoooo!!! this is why they dont wanna see the grandmaster melle mel touch the mic!!! the dude is like an ancient volcano just waitin to erupt on these unsuspectin suckers. my man called out the positive & negative rappers all at once:

the greatest of the old & the new

greater than kiss, greater than krs, greater than jah rule,

50 cent, greater than him too

greater than biggie & pac, now eat a jock, cuz i'm greater than you! done!

    daaammmmnnn!!!!!!

  • As others have already noted, Mele Mel INVENTED what we now take for granted. I remember seeing the furious five play at Bronx River one night in 1980 and thinking that these brothers were just TOO BIG for this forum, there talent was gigantic, even then.

  • How can this guy be the best when Weezy's still alive?

  • @Deltacide1 shutup

  • @Deltacide1 OMG i hope that was sarcasm

  • @ozone51 Nope. Weezy.

  • he killed it

  • yoooooooooooo I just got in a mad argument with 2 dudes not acknowledging Melle Mel as "The Reason" hip hop gave birth to rap. They were namin all these dudes who never have had that flow or aggressive "reality" rap if it wasn't for Mel. Real Talk, no matter how "BAD" or "ILL" these other dudes were or are, with out Melle Mel's Blue Print (the real "BP), they would not have had anything to follow (or bite off of). I'm glad that Mel aint bowin down to any of these suckas. Mel Like Johnny Carson~

  • he made really good records back in the 80s

  • woooo... hot skills

  • halts maul

  • Melle started It L perfected it

  • My name is melle im a little bit smelly,i got a new show on the telly, where i give it some welly,i rap and i curse, wont be long till im riding in that hearse, got no more lines to this verse, now that does make me curse......RESPECT

  • Man that's what's up O.G. game don't die, this is a true legend and I will always respect the elders, shalawom fam.

  • tryna be ying yang twin that shit was garbage openin ur fuckin mouth when u talk, lookin like u got LOCK jaw when u think u spittin ha u clown

  • Melle Mel was the first Rapper to call himself M.C. Check the record. 2Pac &Biggie were great but Mel will always be first.! The foundation of Pac& Big. They learned from Mel not the other way around. Mel was the first conscious rapper with "the Message". All of the other rappers of the time were Party & bragadocious. Keith Cowboy of the Furious Five coined the term Hip-Hop so Madd Props to Cowboy! Straight innovators. They were at the beginning of the snowball that was rolling down the hill

  • greater than bigge and pac, get the fuck outa town dreamer

  • @simonistic Melle Mel was the first Rapper to call himself M.C. They were at the beginning

  • @Khaliqdialectic wasnt kurtis blow before them?

  • @LUKEWHITTYboii Nah not really, Kurtis Blow put his first record out the same year The Furious Five put their first record out 1979. Both after King Tim the 3rd by the Fatback Band & the Sugarhill Gang's Rapper's Delight. Kurtis Blow was the first Rapper to sign a "Major" record deal with Mercury Records but not the first Hip hop recording artist. See I was around in 1979 there were a lot of Rap records made in 1979 most of which were never recognized. Like Eddie Cheeba...(Will COnt.)

  • @LUKEWHITTYboii Fatback wasn't recognized because they were an R&B Band but it was undoubtedly the first recorded Hip Hop song ever put on the Market. Funky Four Plus One More Rappin' and rockin' the House (1979) Enjoy Records. Paulette and Tanya Winley - Rhymin' and Rappin'

(1979). The list goes on...But these are never spoken of in Hip Hop History

  • @Khaliqdialectic ah i see you def know your stuff tho

  • @Khaliqdialectic they didnt learn from melle mell they started by them self i just cant believe that people are telling that he is better then pac or/and biggie i mean come on we al know that biggie kills him with just one rhyme or freestyle do you even know how talented pac was his talent for poet a d even more

  • @zaantjedam123 I have surpassed people whom I have learned from so it is not impossible. I met Tupac in '93 in Atlanta though my brother Jalil who is 1/3rd of the 80's Rap Group Whodini. I know Pac and Big Were very Talented and I am aware of their influence on Hip Hop Music. But everything has a beginning, Melle Mel was at the Beginning of Hip Hop. I speak to Mel all the time lol these are people I knew and know not just Videos and records! Check the 3rd verse on 2Pac's "the Old School"

  • @zaantjedam123 Oh yeah Pac was Definately one of My Favorites, still is. I like Biggie also and KRS etc.. But don't take it too seriously it was just a rhyme he spit :),He's aware of Pac and Big's Greatness but remember he is in the Smithsonian and a member of his group is the one who coined the term Hip hop which we all use today to define the Music and culture. Also remember GM Flash & the Furious 5 were the 1st Hip hop inductees into the RR Hall of Fame.

  • @zaantjedam123 Also remember, Melle Mel was teaching the world this new artform of Hip Hop when Tupac and Biggie were only 7 & 8 years Old. See 1979 was a spectacular year. The world was a Different Place there was no hip Hop except in NYC! I was 9 years Old when Super rappin' came out in '79. I lived in Harlem NY and I remember all of the Hip Hop records that came out that year. They were all being played up and down 125th Street in the Mom and Pops record stores...

  • @Khaliqdialectic NOW HERES A MAN THAT KNOWS HIS HIP HOP, SUPERRAP: A CHILD WAS BORN W/ A STATE OF MIND, BLIND TO WAYS OF MINDKIND ...SMH... PURE LEGEND!

  • @zaantjedam123 So I heard it as a child growing up in NYC since '79 til the present. I've been to Numerous Hip Hop concerts since the 80's and I've been in Numerous Ciphers spittin' my own rhymes. Mel was the 1st to call himself an MC in Hip Hop. The Message,Survival,White lines, are all timeless records by Mel and they became classics before Tupac and Big even recorded their first record. No one can change that it's the history.

  • @Khaliqdialectic that is true but what i try to tell is that pac is just better thats all and biggie too

  • @zaantjedam123 Ok that's fine, that's in your Opinion and that's Ok. I like all of them for what they contributed.

  • @Khaliqdialectic yeah but its not only my opinion its also a fact pac is in every way better than that poor ny fool dont matter if he is the first mc he aint that good his rhymes can not compare to pac and also not biggie

  • @Khaliqdialectic so what if he was first, that doesnt mean he owns hip hop, or is the best, i havnt heard anyone that can touch Pac yet, his intelligence, passion, and natural talent makes him "untouchable"

  • @killakadafi77 Who said he was the Best? I sure didn't. Nor did I say he owns Hip Hop. If he feels he is the greatest there's nothing wrong with that. He certainly is in the Smithsonian. Deny that! 1st Rap group in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Deny that! I'm not taking this Rhyme Seriously, if he feels he is the best ...then to him he is. Not to Me LOL But I appreciate his contributiion. That's All!

  • @Khaliqdialectic Not saying theres anything wrong with that, and not saying he doesnt deserve respect, i just dont care about who did it first, 2pac was the realest, that cant be denied

  • @killakadafi77 Yup Tupac was Great

  • @Khaliqdialectic im not hating, this guy is awesome

  • @killakadafi77 tupac couldn't touch most conscious Hip-Hop MC's

  • @Portlandhardstylers you wish

  • OMG...that was like watching an old karate master you think he's too old then he fucking flips you with one finger...WOW...I just remembered why I loved hip hop all my life...greatest

  • word to big bird this nigga can flow

    too bad about his teeth

  • The GREATEST!

  • Mel will always be one of my favs but come on Mel, I was at the Latin Quarter when you lost to KRS.

  • the first mc on this game respect mell

  • In my opinion Nas is alot better than this guy i always liked this guy and got alot of his music but i dont feel like he's better than Nas or rakim or big or pac or Shady but its jus IMO and i'm kinda biased cus Nas & Eminem are my 2 favorite rappers. Like i said IMO.

  • This is embarrassing. He was trying so hard and that was obviously written and still wasnt good. He was the best rapper of his time by far and he influenced all of hip hop but he really should have stopped rapping long ago. Rap evolved a lot since 1982 and he wasn't able to evolve his flow and lyrical ability to go with it. For him to say that he is better than Pac or Biggie is insulting. He can't even really believe that shit. Hes just trying to stay relevant in rap now by actin like a gangster

  • @camgan1 you are fukkin crazy dude flow is still nicer than 95% of rappers today....and how can u say he aint evolved....he has evolved better than alot of other rappers from his time...

  • @MuttaEffinRocStarr Ill agree with both those statements considering soulja boy, gucci, and lil wayne are popular and there aren't really any rappers still around from his time but he is no where near the greatest and he shouldn't say he is.

  • krs might give him a problem though... plus he dissed canibus... not even his biceps won't get him out of that type of trouble.

  • @ultrakink31 he said kiss not bis you turd burgler , why would he mention a one hit wonder like bis ??? the us armys fav emcee lololololol

  • theres a tag on this jacket

  • Melle Mel, dont fuck with this made nigga....

Madafakerz, the biggest rapper of all time...

So much respect for this man!!!!

  • That's whats up!

  • man he's pissed off! haha great. he's speaks the truth!

  • hes style is so old school...but hes still so dope one of the original mcs a legend

  • @Zmw192 Melle mel was the first person that called himself an MC so he is the best MC

  • @jordyveld cuz your the first your the best? yeah right Ra is better then Melle mel thats just what it is

  • @Zmw192 smoking crack kills brain cells

  • @soulful1illusion..... um ok

  • true shit, not fake gay fish rap

  • HE IS A BEAST !!!!

  • omg!!! dope i want to hear him put a record back out!!!

  • refreshing

  • Y'all don't know. I'm 49 years old and Mel was my favorite rapper when I was a teenager. If any of the brothers that are out today can do what they do at a high level 30 years from now, I'll give them the respect I give him. Who knows, they might. We'll talk in 20 years.

  • @dwanethodges I hear that.

  • @ Eargasms You dont know nothing! The only ear orgasms you get is your boyfriend shootin his muck in ur ear!

  • Bad ass Icon.

  • youre tankin about the founder of rap shithead

  • he just flows like a river, respect to the max

  • damn! killed it

  • when i look at guys like melle mell, marly marl, mc shan, krs, rakim, grandmaster flash, grandmaster caz, kool moe dee, or run dmc, im thankful because im a 90s kid and we wouldnt have pac, nas, big, too short, twista, outkast, geto boys, rbl posse, rappin 4 tay, common, ice cube, or nwa, etc. i duno where the hell guys like soulja boy, ying yang twins, lil wayne, etc evolved from? ? thats a mystery

  • No, it's not.

They evolved from ignorance, no one any knowledge of the roots of Hip Hop & any sense of the pioneers & what done before them would come out rapping like last few idiot auto-coon rappers you just mentioned. The advent of internet, fruity loop type software, a watering down of mainstream rap & low self esteem has caused too many disrespectful, untalented, fan-boy, attention whore-thugs & suburban wigger white youth who watched 8-Mile to get into the rap game. It's fucking sad.

  • @ThaLyricalThreat who are you talking about tupac and them or lil wayne and soulja boy and them.

  • @MobHeataEnt You asked about certain people.... how hip hop could 'evolve' into individuals like them.... that's who i was speaking about. Who else could I POSSIBLY be speaking of? You thought I was talking about rakim or mos def or common or T.I. or something?

  • I thought you were criticizing 90s hip-hop that was majority dominated by the westcoast which is primarily gangsta rap. You gotta understand, hip-hop is poetry its all in the lyrics and visioning things. The message (1983) was just as sick as California Love (1995) just as theres poems on murder, sex, drugs, love, there are hiphop songs of that too. but soulja boy, lil wayne is no where near poetry. you cant vision shit and feel their music.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song melle mel was on the song has a line in it that says- Keep on pushing me- it sounds like melle say the guy singing is calvin richardson but can't find anywhere.alittle help

  • @guynsa don't push me cause I'm close to the edge I'm tryin not to lose my head. huh huh , it's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder how I keep from going under! If thats the song look up the message

  • fast talking? is that called music?

  • Comment removed

  • melly mel told it real in tha music he wrote..peace from france

  • he just bought that jacet srry

  • Comment removed

  • hm das vid hat was aba kein plan was :) und für die männers hab ich auch was HeisseZone . com für alle singels

  • BROOKLYN

  • hes hard

  • stay in sink like a bunch of dishes crazy

  • Original G

  • Dam ha ha I did a show with Melle Mel in 1983 and yes to me he is the best then. And had to switch up his game to show he could flip the script but his records are wayyyyyyyyyyy before his time, the man is gifted and rhyming intulectual,But people smoking weed don't want to hear the truth about life they want a loop to dance and forgt there worries but Melle Mel is the one that lived the ghetto life struggles and told his story with out remorse.

  • I have smoked everyday for 15 years barring looking for employment. I love the old school music born and raised on it. It has nothing to do with weed but ignorance and a lack of respect for THE Hip Hop Legend. PUMP PUMP PUMP PUMP ME UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Melle Mel is the greatest to me because he spoke on and articulated things back in the day That rappers today are just making derivatives of. They are saying the same thing he said 30 years ago but in a different ways and thats if they are saying anything.

Just like Kobe Bryant and MJ

The copies can't be greater than the prototype the copy can be better but never greater because the copy is rooted in the prototype

  • Dr. J trumps both of them.

  • People that talk shit on Mel are probably doing so because they listen to his records which are oldschool. Once the advent of newschool came about in the mid 80s/late80s and teh rhymes sped up and got faster, those oldschool rhymes seem less impressive BUT if you listen to Mel now like in this freestyle, you can clearly tell that he's gotten better with age and though he wouldn't admit it he's probably been influenced as much by the newschool cats from the 80s/90s as they were by him.

  • Eninem is the best rapper in my Opinion
