  • It's a good base to build on. I'm not a big fan of wrapping cord or tape around the tin, but whatever works for you. Keep up the good work.

  • I have to say not a fan of this kit, he made some glaring mistakes assembling it. first off ditch the paracord and replace with bank line(you will fit far more bank line then paracord).Replace the chlorine with puri tabs(saves a heap of space).Take the handle off the ferro rod.Add storm matches

    Add 2 large oven bags for water (folded down)storage/carriage/boiling ability(mark1Lfor purifying)Add a survival whistle, LED light,fresnel lens,button compass,small fishing kit,snare line,sail needle

  • DOPE VIDEO!! GREAT MUSIC CHOICE, 9TH WONDER IS THAT REAL HIP HOP SHIT!!

  • Kitty cat!!!!!

  • 0:23 to skip beginning..

  • i wonder if he had rubbers in there? there good for holding water among other things hey you never know who you might meet in the woods

  • LOL your cat ^_^....... but thanks for the vid very helpful :D

  • Don't know if this has been brought up or if you did it intentionally or not but you can use the altoids tin to make charcloth since you put a hole in it. Great idea

  • @TheCanyonCrawler I dont think i covered it enough but the hole has a piece of clear tape over it and it can be used just like a normal signal mirror. But yes it would be great for charcloth too!

  • nice cat !!

  • hey he's not a ranger lol

  • there is more than a couple of feet of duct tape and paracord there

  • VERY SORRY!!!

  • Loud Music! Thanks for not pulling a fish hook out of your kit! Loud Music! Thanks for sharing.

  • board with a sewing string tied to a needle and the string wrapped around the cardboard/ needle, wlectical tape about 2 feet long wound in a peice about | | wide after it is wound toghether, a giftcard and ducktape also wound like the electical tape but its about the entire width of the altoids tin,a couple of nails that can be used for makein a spear or sumthing like that, superglue, twine AND a swiss army pocket knife =D all in about 2-3 hours of gathering materials =D

  • that wasnt all that much stuff, ive started my survival kit yesterday and i have a bic lighter, a litle over a sqaure foot of aluminum foil, fishing line 3 small hooks and a medium small hook a piece of pen cotton a bic lighter ( i chose a lighter instead of matches because it lasts a little longer and even when the gas/ liquid runs out it still makes a spark) a thick thing kinda like a toothpick but longer and thicker, and i wound a bunch of sewing string around it, i got a small peice of card

  • Not a bad kit I would also add a bouillon cube cause after you make the water safe with you cloreen tab it will be like drinking pool water

  • OK everyone! He is making an emergency survival kit, Key words EMERGENCY SURVIVAL! it's not for extended periods, I must say that he makes a good kit the only thing I would add may be some fishing line and hooks. Besides that Excellent kit nice job.

  • @TNT66613 Thank you, im glad someone understands this video. Also good idea, i was forgetting about the fishing lines.

  • @ArmyRanger10 i would recomend having some baking soda and some nails other than that i think its pretty good i gonna make one and bring it hunting

  • I had a bit of trouble understanding what you would do with the chlorine or even where to get it if I wanted to put it in my kit… Please let me know the answer… Other than that, great block of instruction. I am assuming that you are an NCO, so thank you for the video Sergeant… Heard - Understood - & Approved... HUA

  • @skiball2001 Thanks buddy. The chlorine is for water treatment. A few small shavings in a bottle of untreated water should kill all parasites and last a while. The chlorine came from an above ground pool.

  • I think kits for unplanned trips should also have things that you would carry on a planned trip

  • at 1;30 nice cat

  • Have you actually tried to sharpen a knife with that nail file?

  • wrap it in 20lb test fishing line instead of cord its strong and you have more

  • omg... compact kits are crap. ive got 4 kits on me at all times that weigh about 20 pounds total. and then an extra 5 pounds in extra equipment like cooking supplies, another extra 5 of cooking equipment. 30 pound kits are perfect carrying weight. 2 belt packs and a 20 pound backpack kit. atleast i have all i need for emergencies. pack some bandanas made from old shirts. theyre the most useful accessory you could carry for purifying water, heat srokes and first aid.

  • @501poundmiget I agree. I would never carry this kit on a backpacking trip. But for the average person or someone not on a planned trip this makes a good pocket kit. I usually take a water filter, extra clothing, rain gear, fire starting materials, my Kabar and the basics for a day hike, and misc gear depending on the hike and weather. Not to mention the knowledge of edible plants.

  • @ArmyRanger10 thats a given, if ur not expecting to stay outside for a long period of time, its fine. but in my case i like to go out for a week, i like to cook real meals and have alot to use for passing the time so i pack everything i see as useful, especially if something goes wrong. say if u get lost while hiking? thats why if i go near the woods, i need a perfectly prepared pack, call it paranoia but im just playing it smart :P besides, i like a challenge.

  • @501poundmiget you realise this kit is made for emergency situations right? and at that this is a poor example, watch weapon collector's video on a survival kit, you would have to be retarded to go camping with only a tin, this is just a kit you have so that when something goes wrong, at least you have some basic survival supplies. this is just something you would keep in ur pocket or car at all times

  • @metalskatelife and you do know ur comment is a bit late? -.- anyways, i keep my survival packs in my car...i just stock up on food before i go camping, thats the point. i doubt you can do much with a fishing hook, a whistle and a match (unless you're mcguiver) just saying...if you're going to have a compact kit...fine, other than that i wouldnt advise depending on them.

  • @501poundmiget i bet u have back problems carrying that around all day......... these small kits are something you carry with you all the time not something you go backpacking with.

  • @nicko978 trust me, if you can't handle 30 pound packs you need to work out more xD the army makes you carry 130 pounds of equipment and you're out on the fields for weeks at a time.

  • @501poundmiget You carry 30lb pack everywhere all day long its going to strain your back idc who you are.

  • @nicko978 been camping since i was 15 and never had that problem ; ]

and it's a pack, not utilities, you keep some of the things in your campground and carry 10 pounds of emergency supplies / tools and your water. and compact kits are just a bunch of trouble, having to compress everything for the convenience of packing isn't very convenient when you need to actually get it quickly when you have to. waterproofing and organizing your pack is the best thing you can do.

  • dumb kit

  • you should have probably put razors instead of x-acto knives

  • Both would work good. I think exacto blades are more durable.

  • u should of got a button bag or a weed bag 4 the chlorine

  • its not that ultimate. maybe a few more things would make it just right

  • always good to have one great idea but one problem is you where stoped by a cop and he found that he would thinks its crack .

  • their field test would find it negative as cocaine if they bothered to do it

  • I love it! Thanks.

PS: I wanna be a power ranger too!

  • i want to be a power ranger too

  • oh i didnt know.if thats the case maybe you should cut a smaller piece.please watch my video:altoids survival kit-in-a-tin

  • i think the duct tape thing is not very good because if u need something quick it will take a long time to open and while its loose the duct tape can get dirty and than useless.maybe you should replace the chlorine tablet with iodine tablets because it takes a lot of space and iodine is better

  • Thanks for the comment, Your right about the duct tape. The thing with the chlorine tablet is that I can shave a small amount off and put it in my water. With Iodine 1 pill = 1 liter.

  • yeah when i was in 5th grade i slept in my backyard without gear 2!

  • have u ever been outside?

  • No ive never been outside. Durh look at my hiking videos. And Ive slept outside no tent no gear no nothing.

  • do us all a favor and eat that whole peice of chlorine asshole you dont know shit!

  • Oh good one did you come up with that all by yourself? Try saying that without a dick in your mouth.

  • nice cat.... not

  • oh and a real knife would be good cuz exacto knifes arnt that strong and could break

  • prity good but i think u could do better, try puting some wire in there, fishing materials, some actual water purification tabs that wont take up so much room, and some realy small high poundid cordidge for smaller taskes and a bow cuz u dont have that much para cord ther and when u run out ur screwed, also mybe a magnifine glass

  • It looks like a brick. XD

    Nice kit

  • Its a brick that could save you life. LoL.

  • Yup. I'm sure it will. :3

  • Likes like a great kit, but as long as you have room, you might as well put in some fish hooks and line.

  • great video! ;o) Thanks

  • my survival kit : Cell phone, sun battery cell phone charger, extendable antenna,.

  • Thanks for the comment. Id like to see that fit inside an altoids tin.

  • You can even use that tin to make char cloth using your t-shirt or something. Nice kit.

  • Thanks, yes thats another great use for this kit.

  • cat 0:23
