Persona 3 is hands down the best RPG out there. Fuck Final Fantasy and other over rated RPG franchise. Their stories are incomparable by a long shot to this game's intense and emotional storyline that surely makes players "sink into" the game.

@roxas32 Some western RPGs are good, but so are JRPGs and of course western RPGs are going to be ahead in western parts of the world.

I don't see whats so bad about this music either, it's easy listening you can't have a song thats to over powering when you'll be hearing it for 40 hours and it's hard to find a song that does that.

And of course JRPGs won't be as well received in western audiences they are intended for japanese players, be happy you even have the option to play it at all.

@roxas32 Final Fantasy is "a little more western now"? Are you kidding me? Final Fantasy XIII is about as far from a western RPG as you can get. If anything, it was the very first entries to the series that were closer to a western feel because of the setting. It started turning into weird emo/pretty boy stuff around Final Fantasy VII and VIII.

From a gameplay standpoint, almost all the Final Fantasies are as un-western as possible. They've always been JRPGs and MMORPGs in some cases. Not once has the series really felt like a Western RPG to me.

With the coming of 7, definitely it went to a clear jRPG style. But 12 was undoubtably based off of Star Wars, a western movie, and is quite the trend breaker in more ways than one. Anyhow...why is FF mentioned on a SMT game song again...?

Anyways, the main thing I was pointing out was how he said Final Fantasy is more western "now". I mean, other than Final Fantasy XII (which is pretty much its own game, going nowhere near the extremes of typical JRPG or WRPG stereotypes), nothing points to Final Fantasy having become more Western-oriented, especially not XIII.
