It was an exciting time in the late 90's, when there were three viable contenders for the land speed record. Rosco's Aussi Invaders were designed to surpass the 1983 world record of 633 mph. No doubt Aussi Invader II could have done it, but alas, Richard Noble went faster than Aussi Invader II was designed to do, breaking the record and the sound barrier in 1997. After the dust died down both Bredelove and Noble visited Rosco in Australia. That was a sure sign of respect, I'd say. Bravo Rosco
