  • My next MOBO!

  • There doesnt seem to be many motherboards readily available that offer all 4 x16 slots to run at x16. Makes me sad :(.

  • so this board can run 2 cards at 2.0x16 ???

  • 14minutes of basic shit talk .... you fucking spaz. not even a bios preview or benchmark test (WASTE)

  • @R3AP3R664 i enjoyed it.

  • Great review. Ask your boss for a promotion.

  • nice but can i buy in no

  • Yea, pretty sure mine is NOT the B1...It specifically says 11.4 - nothing more.. If you guys have issues getting IN to bios (i.e. pressing delete key doesn't work), I am able to do it with just a standard Microsoft "Comfort Curve" keyboard (in other words, just a plain old USB keyboard). My Logitech G15 is hit and miss. I haven't had any other issues, though. And also, I agree:I have high hopes that this board will really show its teeth, once Zambezi/Bulldozer comes out :D

  • I bought this board from Newegg - rocks out. Built my computer from scratch having no clue so I needed a board that was 1) Bulletproof, 2) told me what I did wrong THIS time, 3) could take a Bulldozer when (if) they came out, and 4) could take serious OC abuse if I can ever figure out what I'm doin. So far we're 3 for 4; if AMD will just release the Bulldozer then we are golden.

    P.S. BIOS sux sux sux

P.P.S. keep in mind I'm a newbie AND they don't even make a processor yet for this board (AM3+)

  • @motel420 I'm in the same boat as you, this is going to be my first build and I think I'm going to use this mobo. I'm going to wait until the bulldozer comes out first before I make any purchases. I might get the FX-8, or a Phenom II 1100 if it's too pricey for me now and upgrade later. Probably going to drop in an AMD 6970, not sure if I should do a ssd of hdd. Will upgrade to crossfirex later on. Anyway, getting geared up soon, looking forward to it!! :)

  • If you own this motherboard, get the 11.4 (aka B.4) BIOS released just within the past week....MSI has given us a lovely surprise in it, that is not mentioned in the release notes. If you have problems accessing your BIOS setup after flashing, try another keyboard (PS2 is almost guaranteed, but I was able to use just a standard MS Ergonomic USB keyboard, where my Logitech G15 would not work initially). Once you get it going, you'll see why this board is priced with the big boys ;)

  • @statikreg I was really having doubts about getting this board because of the driver issues but I'm glad they updated the BIOS, how is it so far? pros? cons? :)

  • @SynysterCondom Like fine wine, this board has definitely gotten better with age. It lacks some of the gee-wiz features of more expensive boards, but that's subjective. Build quality is extreme. Early reviews will say poor performance, poor OCing and laughable click bios, which WAS 100% true at the time, but now all of the above have been fixed! Wish I had more room to give details, but in short: you will definitely get what you pay for - just make sure you use bios 11.4 or later :) Good luck!

  • @statikreg I'm not interested in any gee-wiz, Cheez Whiz, or any kind of wiz. ;) I just wanted a reliable board with support for dual 560tis in SLI, and for the FX-8170 processor. I'm happy to see that the GPUs won't be sandwiched together, and the 16x/16x mode is a nice plus! I will definitely make this purchase within the following weeks. Good luck to you too and long live your mobo! :D

  • @SynysterCondom Sweet =) I've owned 3 MSI boards now and only problems I've had were my fault! They won me over from Asus due to their similar quality standards and features, while still offering lower prices. I've even used their GPUs in my last 3 builds, as well...Currently have 2 MSI 6970 Lightnings - performance is awesome and rock solid stable. Built like tanks, too so I have no doubt it will last long beyond the warranty!

  • @statikreg just don't use V11.4B1! I would flash right this second if there wasn't a T-storm.

  • @SynysterCondom i have BIOS 11.4B1 and it's horrid! I can't even use it atm. That being said, I absolutely love this board & I'm confident MSI will continue to improve the BIOS. Keep in mind also that can be fixed + the northbridge & south bridge are built for processors that aren't out yet.

  • @motel420 probably not a good idea to use a beta BIOS driver when the board is known for having issues with drivers :p And I'm waiting to buy a Zambezi processor, I hear that its release has been pushed back a month, but I can wait.

  • MSI motherboard sucks because it cannot boot from the PXE

  • @lhong23 Hey whats PXE? Thanks :)

  • Lastima que un hardware como este no soporte 64gb ddr3

  • click Bios is nothing new i got a HP Laptop from back in 2009 with click bios

  • what is the button next to the s/pdif

  • Get this card. Out of all the different paths you can take, this way hits a homerun.

Wish perhaps it had 2-3 more fan connectors.

  • SATA 6Gb/s is compatible with SATA II (3Gb/s)?

  • MSI > ASUS

  • ? YI....

  • Mobo out at 5:37

  • could this board run morrowind

  • @Angelus246x thats dependent on cpu, not motherboard. A Phenom X4 or X6 or any of the upcoming bulldozer cpus will easilly handle it

  • at least this MB wasn't another damn whoopee intel board, i think I have heard and seen enough of their crap to cover my life time.

  • So does newegg compress their files or what? It took me an hour to load this video on 720p with 800kb/s download speed. What the hell is with that.

  • @resdudeornardude damwn that was quick i got a 12 Mb/s, and it load just fine in 1080p, do i used to have a 2,1 Mb/s line that was only a rare time able too play 480p

  • @Trillios No, not 800Kbps, I mean 8mbps, which is 800kb/s, which is on the faster end of things.

  • @resdudeornardude what? 8 Mbps = 1MBps that i can understand but 800 Kb....

  • @Trillios Thats the max download speed I have but I usually get around 800kb/s

  • @resdudeornardude if your getting around 800 Kb/s how can you even watch 360p i had a network connection that wa bearly enough and it was 2100Kb/s

  • @Trillios You really don't understand KILO BYTES PER SECOND do you? Not KILO BITS, BYTES.

If I can download a 15 gigs game in about 5 hours, and any other 1080p video on youtube that isn't from newegg about 5 minutes (if its 10 minutes long) then why can't newegg load faster than 1 hour?

  • @resdudeornardude well you said bits, so why would i think otherwise? im not sure whats up with newegg but it runs jut fine for me and i have trouble with other sites

  • @resdudeornardude

Dude. You change the 'b' from upper to lowercase to indicate the change from byte to bit, not the first letter telling you which prefix you're using.

  • @Funnyfunification Ah, sorry that must have been a noob comment. I just saw that it had 8 LED lights for the CPU, which was for each core...

  • ty for this video newegg, good job Paul!

  • When reviewing these motherboards, any chance for a build at the same time and match it vs some benchmark machine of same price range

  • I have a feeling the new AMD processors will have 8 cores...

  • That was my point the "+" means it'll work with next gen processors I thought amd was retarded and they were making a new chipset for bulldozers something like apu

  • What would u recommend this or GIGABYTE 990fx UD5??

  • @USSRTerminatorSV MSI has the Mil-Spec, Gigabyte doesn't. Gigabyte is nothing to joke about. With the 2x Copper PCB, And the 3x3 USB Power, SATA 3, and USB 3.0.

  • This motherboard look really nice! Now i cant decide between this or the ASUS Sabertooth...

Give us an in depth review of the Sabertooth now!!!!

  • So is it am3 or apu? What's a plus? Am3 plus which processor?

  • @tres311 apu uses the FM1 socket which is completly different than am3+. The AM3+ socket is for the soon to be released AMD FX (bulldozer)

  • why cannt they put the legacy pci the last , y have a asus dg sound card and not changing it 4 the world fuck gd65 for me :(

  • Motherboards are cool and all but after a few videos it gets redundant. I want to see some CPUs or cases

  • @Zacccc51 I only care about mobos because I'm waiting for the chipset with PCI-E 3.0

  • @danx033 Well yes, you have a point, but other people like to see reviews of other things. Not everyone is interested in mobos.

  • @Zacccc51 When bulldozer is released there will be a ton of CPU videos.

  • @Zacccc51 There really isn't as big a variety of CPUs as there are motherboards since CPUs only have two main manufacturers. A motherboard is something these people actually can go through all the features of, plug it in, show it in action. I have to agree, though, that motherboards are getting stale. I'd definitely like to see some more cases.

  • @Zacccc51

    No - video cards:D

  • the 4. pcie is only 4x ;P

  • But will it blend? That is the question.

  • @hheintze1 try harder dude

  • lol i cant watch get stuck after some sec, i will back later >.>

  • 6 gig birds

  • Cool a motherboard............................

  • ???

  • *checks subscriptions, sees another motherboard* FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • @EvasionX2 In fact I checked my "uploaded by newegg" module on the YT homepage... I see 2 motherboards.

  • ahh, 240p... we meet again!

  • yep

  • Nope
