This is not the Highest paved road, the highest paved road is in fact the "Karamkarom Highway" in the himalayan mountains, check it up on wikipidia to conform it, it tool almost 23 years to build almost 900 ppl died building it
For more handheld still digital camera footage fun, check out the video response from 14degrees. That video from his world record solo unsupported skateboard journey, and was taken by himself on a Canon G9 still camera. 640x480 pixel resolution, 30 frames per second.
Galfromdownunder, what resolution was the Elph video?
Oh this is way after the fact, but the res was merely 3.2 Mpix, not only that, to save space I shot it at medium resolution 320x240 and on 2x 256 Mb cards at a time. Really my first effort at doing this. Strangely, people look past the production values and just enjoy the content.
actually it's not the highest paveroad..in the other hand it is certainly the highest railroad ever built..(the railtracks are about 15806 ft above see level
And btw, you said you were the first Gringos up this road? I did it in July 1999, which is earlier than you. But I don't make these outlandish, so-called great achievements. Wow, I'm the first Gringo up that road. Big freaking deal...
Man, I feel so sorry for you. I don't understand how someone who has achieved so much can be so miserable, nasty and downright rude to others. Why not celebrate life instead of putting shit on people who want to share their joy with others!
Bolivia. It's a mining road behind Laguna Blanca in the Altiplano. It's just under 19,700 feet, making it the highest road of any kind in the world. Sorry, dear, but get your facts straight next time...
I hate to burst your bubble, but the Khardung-La Pass in India is 2,500 feet higher than Ticlio Pass. I know - I've cycled both. In fact, I've cycled up the world's highest road period. That is in (continued)...
