I am hoping President Obama will end this. It's not just him that makes that choice. Between the BUSH JR invasion and immediate growth in heroin at that time....The real Taliban nearly stopped the heroin growth, but after the CIA US invasion it grew again.
Please visit my Afghanistan video and see what you think. It's only about 3 or 4 minutes. I think many of you will find it interesting. The video is called:
Well Cenky, you got a good point. You know WHY Obama and co won't play that card?
Because even Obama is still a corporate bitch, and the corporations want it this way with healthcare and the wars.
You want this to REALLY happen, create the US Labour Party. And THEN run like that., and there's a few more things you can run too, and you'll probably take it as well.
If I am god I fuck those white asshole up and make his children's ass it up for the approval of all this bullshit. Tell them sent their own children to wars n stop sending the innocent there as a way to create jobs
To the white please mind your own business all these bullshit u created . All bcos of black gold which you are after. If without oil will you be involve ? Fuxk you man try sent your own children's there. Who ever approval this war ask him to sent his own child there. Fuxking white pig pussy man
You know what HE IS RIGHT! People SHOULD be taxed! IF THEY WOULD THEN THEY F-ING WILL KNOW THE COST WAR IS! Remember with WW1and WW2? The countries that fought from the beginning to end, FELT THE COST OF WAR! That's why SOME countries stopped fighting (aka Canada) for a LONG time! Why do people who support wars DON'T SUPPORT taxes and paying for it? CAUSE THEY ARE HYPOCRITES! They want to kill without paying for it! No balls to have the consequences!
let the corruption within afghanistan rule their pitiful degrading uneducated society as it has been for centuries. Leave this hell on earth place and their rebels to themselves and do not contribute to this warrior tribesmen. We will only win by leaving.Quit supporting the arms manufacturing interest groups here. we do not to have to save face from a major screwup from our politicians. ludwigtom53@yahoo.com
Why is America in the Middle east! The truth is we are in Iraq and Afganastan for the sole purpose of stealing thier resources. We've stolen Iraq's oil. We are fighting a bogus war in Afganastan so we can steal thier lithium (one trillion dollars worth) We also want thier heroin! America no longer fights wars for noble reasons! Now you know the truth. This is why our country is bankrupt and our soldiers are dying! If America does not stop the warring we are doomed. Peace!
Afghanistan and Iraq are the biggest jokes ever! The US is just seeking to control Iran by controlling its immediate neighbours. Otherwise its terrorist WW3, beginning in the Middle East!
Not to be offensive, but as Americans, do you ever feel like you are extremely behind the rest of the world on these issues.. America is supposed to be the most powerful nation on earth, but when it comes to spending and healthcare, you are decades behind the rest of the industrialized world.. Im not looking for a fight but some American ideals and policies seem archaic and utterly ridiculous.. I hope the U.S. decides to catch up to the rest of us.. P.S. The Imperial System, really? get with it!
hold on, why the fuck do I have to suffer because of the wars. I do not support the wars, so why do I have to pay for it. I do live here and pay my dues, but why do I have to suffer for what these dumbasses who hide in the government.
The Pentagon does not serve the American people, it serves Lockheed, Halliburton, Dyncorp, and Blackwater. It certainly has not been defending the US taxpayer.
Defence contractors are parasites, corporate welfare spongers who greedily steal taxpayers money (with the collusion of the Pentagon).
Karzai got the job entirely because of his links to big oil, he was imposed on the Afghani people by corporate America.
Bin Laden's plan, IMHO, is to use the MIC to destroy America by bankrupting it.
Instituting mandatory war taxes to pay for wars, along with a draft to give everyone an opportunity to be killed or wounded fighting them, would be the end of America's wars.
No nation is going to attack us and terrorism is a phenomenon we brought on ourselves. (See "blowback" in the CIA manual.)
What are the chances of this actually happening? About the same as voters waking up to the fact that Democrats and Republicans are two sides of the same coin and don't represent them. Little to none.
McChrystal wants the US to institute jobs program for the Taliban--mainly to keep them off the street at night. Midnight basketball too?The military's own figures suggest every additional US combat soldier sent to Afghanistan will cost $1 million per year.
Some of the budget people suggest that is a vast underestimate, which it is. It does not count paying for caring for the resultant vegetables (severely wounded and mutilated but not dead) , for example, for the rest of their live-long days.
"Make no mistake, fellow citizens, the Pentagon we have now is not interested in defending America because the head dudes there know theres nothing they can defend us from. Our far-flung forays overseas are disasters. Our missile defense systems dont work. Our $2 billion strategic stealth bombers can be shot down by moisture. No, the brass hats just want a never-ending war...so they can continue to justify soaking up half or more of our national budget."
The MIC's been in charge for a long time, cenk - they got kennedy, nixon, and 911 - your opposition to the wars should go back further in time - nothing changed, they were always a fraud.
Brilliant idea! This should have been done a long time ago! Then neoconservatives like John Bolton will think twice before encouraging military action on Iran. Cause they will have to pay for the bombs used.
Joe Lieberman on the other hand would love this idea.
"US troops don't need a constant presence for that to happen"
To get to this point, US still need to be there now. Even Iraqi government is not confident that they can hold. Those people in White house are not dumb. Again, it's a gamble. We live now = 70% chance of losing all and it will cost more to come back
It's dumb Bush idea to invade in the first place. Now, Obama needs to clean up his puke
According to the US Army's own counter-insurgency doctrine it would take almost 800,000 US combat troops to effectively occupy Afghanistan with a population unwilling to be occupied.
Guess what--Afghanis are unwilling to be occupied by outsiders.
This is an ancient tribal society in which many tribes have stabilized their relations and conducts over three thousand years.
Meyer said...Condoleezza Rice raised Iraq in a telephone call on Sept. 11, only hours after the attacks.
"She said there's no doubt this was an al-Qaida operation, we are just looking to see if there could possibly be any connection with Saddam Hussein"...
...the U.S. quickly tied the attacks with Saddam's regime. Years later, Bush's administration was forced to acknowledge they could find no connection."
The problem with leaving afghanistan is that we entered to overthrow the taliban and al qaedia, and help afghan militias create a working democracy, and Karzai was the leader of that militia. We went with the hopes of catching bin laden, but so far that has proven to be ineffective, the problem in afghanistan is the US troops lost the initiative without proper reinforcements (which were sent to Iraq, although we did win the war there so far..) We must create a successful democracy in afghanistan
to show the rest of the world that when you stand up again tyrany and fight for democracy, the United States will support your efforts; the majority of fighting in afghanistan pre-regime change was not done by US spec ops, but by Afghani militia who, for reasons both good and bad, fought under the banner of democracy, and refused to follow the taliban; how can we tell those in nations seeking democracy that if they seek it, we wont help?
The Afghan government is so corrupt, that any thought of democracy is a joke. Karzai's govt has imposed Sharia law, which is probably the most tyrannical form of religious law with respect to women. What sounds noble on paper, often does not work out that way.
"Northern Afghanistan has long been a forgotten portion of the nation. The home of the rebel Northern Alliance that largely became the Afghan government after the 2001 US invasion, the region didnt have a terribly strong Taliban presence to begin with. Now, however, they seem to be rapidly establishing themselves in the small but key Kunduz Province.
Locals say that the Talibans presence has been steadily growing since spring of 2008 but NATO appears to be paying no attention..."
@DaMaxxy What i do not understand is what is our objective ? I supported the war in Afghanistan because we were going after bin laden. and al qaeda. this seems to no longer be the case or the objective now we seem to be in the proses of nation building this i cannot support. i am confused we are now at war in two countries and both wars are quagmires with no end in sight we need to end these wars before we bankrupt the country.Financially and morally
Let me help you out cjfilm, since you gain your historical knowledge from a ceral box. America has gain its power through fairness, compasion, guidance, and most of all conquest of other nations. If we can conduct nation building in Iraq and Afghanistan we will have completely surrounded Iran for there future demise, in which they know that as well. Why do you think they want a Nuke so bad. You dumbass LIBS don't see what Bush was doing, but I guarantee Obama received the briefing.
@feba36 I am glad that at least you are not denying that conservatives are a bunch of warmongering fools. and can some one please explain to me why conservatives keep changing the justifications for the wars first it was w m d then it was al qaeda now its Iran ITS ABOUT THE OIL STUPID. bush was an idiot to him it was a holy war.but Cheney knew how to manipulate that idiot well.End the wars !!!!!!
You think people who consider themselves civilized and most other cultures savages who are beneath them, could come up with a better way to solve their differences. We tell our kids not to fight, and it never solves anything, but go to war at every opportunity. Fight with kids=black eye. War=death. Which do you prefer?
This is a excellent point that has finally gotten some attention and well deserved. I was against the first emergancy approbations for the wars. It was well known at that time that the wars were going to be funded by off budget borrowing, not tax revenue. Every approbation after that was met with the same outrage!! Especially when it became known how much of that money was being funneled into pet companies and fat contributors pockets.
Then came the stalls by Rummy about where the money was being spent. A audit was attempted but failed due to lack of accurate and tractable data. Where was the righteous right back then? As the national debt kept rising, laying the payment of those wars on future generations. It's bullshit to me that all this money went to Wall St, just like the banking fraud and the only results we have seen in both cases are CEO's getting richer.
Congressman Obey is absolutely right, and I completely agree with him, and support his idea. Nowadays the only thing everyone really cares about is their pocketbook, so let's get them involved by hitting them where it hurts. Maybe that will get people's attention away from "Dancing With The Stars", and back on our Country's problems. Besides, Obey makes an excellent point regarding the need to re-asses our Country's financial priorities, which is desperate to say the least.
your arguments are nothing but "passing the buck" which even a 5 year old's intelligence is capable of. By that logic clinton can pass the buck to regan/bush sr. for supporting mujahidins and regan can pass it to truman for allowing cold war to happen in the first place and that goes on and on. But that's not how the world works, cause there is something called accountibility . Bush IS responsible for 911, just like obama will be if an attack happens on his watch
ok it makes sense. TYT got me... let's get out of Afghanistan. I think Obama want at this point to push in to kill the Talaban as much as he can and leave as soon as possible... that's my take on his strategy. Dunno know if it is a good one.
Every bill that gets voted in congress is reviewed by the Congretional Budget Office and a cost analysis is produced.
Than congress votes and base their votes on this report. Lets have CBO put out a report on the cost, and then have congress vote on funding for this invasion.
SHINE THE LIGHT !!
Lets see how much republicans like taxes. Right now it is a HIDDEN TAX.
Health care isnt payed for i hate to tell ya buddy. The Senate bill is $848 billion right? WRONG!! This is how they hid the cost. There gonna start collecting taxes for this thing next yr if it passes now. However, the actual program doesnt partially kick off until 2014 & really doesnt fully start until 2017. So u collected taxes the 1st 5 yrs and did nothing. And the plan doesnt fully start till the 7th yr. Guess how much this costs the 2nd 10 yrs. $2.5 TRILLION!!!! Thats how they hid the cost
It always disappoints me to see ignorant people speak their delusions with such confidence.
I understand not everyone had the opportunity to know the truth, but instead of seeking it, some people just invent their own. And it's a real tragedy, as it shuts their mind from reality.
If youtube visitors are representative of large portion of our society, then I'm afraid we still got long ways to go before we can truly claim to be a civilized society.
u think im making this up? go read the bill buddy. i suppose your one of the ppl who thinks that social security, medicare and medicaid are in fine condition and doesnt need any financial reform at all. Those 3 programs alone have $53 trillion in unfunded liabilities. By 2050, those 3 programs will consume 100% of the federal budget and we wont be able to pay for anything but those 3 programs. And now u want to add the biggest entitlement program in the history of mankind to the list?
Yea Great Britain, France, and Canada are doing just fine. It might cover everyone and yes it might give everyone proper health care. But there is one major downside to a public health insurance system, THE COST. If u look at Britain, France and Canada's systems, the costs are out of control. They rise every single year, as all govt programs do. Name one country that is SAVING money from govt run health care. Take Massachusetts for example, costs have risen 43% since they implemented it.
A Federal non-profit Health Insurance Corporation with the whole country as the risk pool will save enromous amounts of money.
All other government health insurance, contracted to for profits or government funded, will become unnecessary, including Veteran's care, Medicare, and government employees insurance.
France does allow for a mix of public and private but not Britain or Canada. They have single payer systems. However, if u read about Frances public health care system, u will see that the costs are beginning to get out of control. So what did they start doing? They started privatizing more of the health care industry and adding american style co-pays to help pay for it. Show me an example of a country that has saved money by implementing a public health care system.
The for profits are scared shitless of Kucinich;s plan getting national publicity.
That is why GE blocked his appareance in one of the debates.
The for profit Health Insurers bought off both sides in the present dog and pony show to make it look like what they are actually after is some some of reform.
"Every other industrialized country has some form of public health insurance and they doing fine. "
Germany is trying to drop there social based healthcare for a U.S. version of work based healthcare..... since 1995 they have been trying to leave social healthcare but can not because once you subject your populace with it is hard to take away....
This is why there is quarterly riots in France....lol... they are no longer a productive powerhouse like US... check on it....
So you don't mind soldiers getting killed and maimed for no reason?
History seems to indicates that any attempt to occupy Afghanistan will end in the defeat and possible end of that defeated power as a world power. Is it really worth it?
Yes, however, As long as the USA keeps printing dollars out of thin air to pay its debts, and as long as people continue to accept dollars as payment, things will continue as they are.
Sir. We pay for it, the same way we pay for everything else, ie, the "stimulus" bill, cash for fucking clunkers, financial bail outs, universal "healthcare", etc. We simply mortgage more of our future by borrowing more money from our deep pocket "friends" in China, who already financially own us. Seems to work for everything else. Having said that, Afghanistan, (in my opinion), is a lost cause. Not one more American life should be lost in that cesspool. Put up the white flag & come home.
yeah china may 'own' us but without our huge consumer economy their industrialized economy would not have the so called 'leverage' we believe that it has. so really we own them.
Here's another way to pay for the war. Get the country we are keeping safe to pay the salaries, benefits, ammunition adn all associated costs. Let's see how quickly they send us home.

how pathetic the liberals plan to win the war against terrorism, RAISE TAXES. so cenk is willing to sacrifice thousands of US soldiers lives, our national prestige, and the ideals for which america has fought for 300 years, so he can save money for himself. liberals are the most heartless, cold, and violent people on earth. no wonder communist, nazis, and every dictator on earth identified themselves as liberals, it is an inherantly evil and cowardly political beliefe case and point TYT
Win the war on terror? You do know that's impossible, right? You also know that the forces we're currently fighting in Afghanistan by and large have no connection to international terrorism and are fighting us simply because we remain in their country? And our national prestige is in the toilet and has been for decades, going back to Vietnam. And exactly what American ideals are we fighting for in Afghanistan? Foolish swaggering pride at the cost of American lives?
It's not impossible!!!. The only reason a terrorist is a terrorist is because he/she has been ingrained since childhood to hate the western world. I was in IRAQ in 91 and guess what, no one I met in Middleeast liked Americans if the soldiers I fought with from Saudi. We can win by nation building, educating, and providing the capitalism to there economy. In 30years or so they(middleeast) will grow into a peaceful compasionate region. There I told you, yea I know it isn't fast like we like.
Yes, if you basically invade and colonize every middle-eastern country with ties to terrorism and enforce a democratic/capitalist system upon them and reeducate their entire populous over future generations to love America and its values you can quell the hatred against the US.
Good luck with that. Nation building is a terrible idea in my estimation, and it's not worth the loss of lives and the burdens placed upon the American people to radically change every single country that doesn't like us
We don't fight until the last American blood my friend. We fight until the enemies last remaining blood... God Bless the troops... Don't fuck with the Giant.
I understand what you are saying Shadow, It is a long task but remember besides the middle east not a lot of nations hate us. As much as the news wants you to believe they do, they really don't actually the common man in other nations love us and adore the mystique that Americans carry. Of the 24 countries I visited my life time excluding Mexico, majority of the common people were excited about meeting a cowboy (which I'm not) but Hollywood has stamped us with such iconic behavior.
That is exactly right.... its not easy like....lets say orgering a #1 at McDonalds. But it can be done.. Not all middleeaster nations want to live in a tolatarian government. They would pursue a progressive west style of gvernment......It can be done.
the war ITSELF that the REPUBLICANS started has cost THOUSANDS of lives... and you turn around and put the blame on cenk for agreeing with the idea of having americans PAY for THEIR wars (instead of just the soldiers paying for it with their lives) in an attempt to persuade ppl to end the war
If Obama listened to this guy and ended the never-ending wars and gave medicare to all Americans tomorrow that had no insurance, Obama would go down as one of the best presidents in a hundred years. Instead Obama's "change" is just a revised edition of Bush's failures.
Hey far left and far right, guess what. You are all loud loons not representative of the majority. Your ideology clouds common sense and logical thought. There are more than two sides to this equation. Your conflicting insane philosophy's are destroying this country. When the shit hits the fan you all will be against the wall for what you have done.
You want to clarify what you said in your last sentence ?
Sounds to be your teetering towards the bat shit kind of crazy that actually wants a revolution so you can deal out your ass backwards sense of justice from the barrels of your guns.
I could be wrong but at least I'm not hiding behind words and hinting at coming violence.
Oh, yes.. this is war which was started to be ENDLESS - that's what every american wars was. We loose our money.. Military Industrial Complex get them... nothing new in it. our wars produce our enemies, and then they produce a new wars... what else Military Industrial Complex can dream about? :)
who the fuck is Liz Cheney??? just a few years ago she was a nobody....and now she is all 0ver the the news like she has some intelligence about war issues lol.....pathetic seriously
I think the rich should pay for the war in its ENTIRETY. If we are, indeed, overseas to defend the "American Way of Life," then why shouldn't those who have benefited most from that way of life pay for the effort to defend it? Well, I think they should. It's time for the rich to do THEIR part!!
Cenk...just like Mr. "I'm not a war strategist" are simplistic fuck nuts trying to justify Obama nation backing out on pre-election campaign promise. The fact is that if you asked people 2 days after 9/11 how much they would contribute to supporting retribution on radical islamist..the answer is whatever it takes. Now, 8 years later in the midst of the worst economy and unemployment levels we've seen in decades..of course they're are going to 2nd guess the war effort. Liberals..had enough yet?
The only problem is that the people who attacked us, Al Qaeda, are now in Pakistan, not Afghanistan. Right now, we are fighting local insurgent groups that fall under the very general heading of "Taliban" who never attacked us. The war effort should be second guessed because we are not fighting the right enemies. And if we really wanted to get rid of Al Qaeda, we would have to invade a lot more countries than we have now.
You want to do away with the danger of the region?
Step one: Eliminate the DEA and allow doctors to actually treat pain in the US.
Step two: Divert all of the regions opium (that you can) back into legitimate pharmaceutical markets.
Then everyone, except the gluttonous multinationals making drugs from oil, wins. The farmers cut out the middle men and make more money, the planet gets more carbon eating plants, and the heroin market dries us. Problem solved.

If the US listens to communists about whether they should be in Afghanistan then they've not only lost that war but lost everything.
Afghanistan was an open sore on the face of humanity & a breeding ground for an extreme form of islam that is a threat to everyone including other muslims who dont adhere to it .
America can pull out & Afghanistan will revert to a terrorist state, exporting murder and heroin.
The left in the US are weak & if followed will bring real disaster to the people.
Thats really an awesome idea.. I mean often when the people have a problem with something being passed there like "OH THATS BULLSHIT" and dont do anything.. Well if they were actually paying for these things.. And not knowing the reasons think how pissed they'd be.. The country would move foward.. And for the better
I'm surprised the U.S. Army hasn't shot depleted uranium shells in Afghanistan. Kills all human beings (enemy insurgents), but keeps our new pipelines intact. They've done in in Iraq. Fuck the troops. Support our Constitution.
America has lost the war. What did they get out of this war nothing but debt that you the America people have to pay for, that's why your war was a predetermined lose.
When will people wake up and realize both parties are selling us out to the highest bidders. The Military Industrial Complex and the Wall Street Bankers.
Fire Congress, Kick them all out. It is our only hope.
The worst is when everyone knows who is bought out, and its out in the open.. Noone is ever arrested.. Almost always never anyone arrested and kicked out.
Here's how you end the war in Afghanistan. We bring our troops home, it's that simple. Afghanistan was a shit hole when we went in there and it will be a shit hole when we leave
i think they need to lower the taxes on the poorest of americans, and increase the income tax of the top 1% to 80% of their income, and top 500 should pay 95% (and fix the capital gains tax, it should be inline for the rich to actually pay as much in taxes as the poor)
is there a problem with pure communism? that shit the ruskies had was not pure communism (yes there are problems with communism, the major one being that humans are not meant to wield so much power, and until there is a truely unbiased system it will never work...but in theory it is the perfect system)
The problem was crappy central planning and a shitty comms net. From each according to their ability to each according to their needs is a lot easier to implement with high speed broadband.
well more importantly was that communist party officials got mote food, better living conditions, and better lifestyles than others, so it was not truely communist, the key imo is an AI computer system capable of properly redistributing wealth and work without taking human bias into affect, and in the future when complex robots will be capable of doing all of our physical labor jobs, we will need a new system since capitalism doesn't work without work (i.e. no work, no money, no trading...)
Sorry when you write " without taking human bias into affect" you just lost the votes. Politics is a function of people and politics is always about changing and bending the rules. Let the capitalists play their games if they wish just not at the expense of peoples lives, not when people are starving.
Mopsius, I asked a question dipshit... I didn't tell you the behavioral patterns of a lion or Gazelle dumbass. THEY ARE QUESTIONS FOR RETARDS LIKE YOU TO PONDER.. MAYBE SEE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNELL.
Thanx for confirming your a typical liberal dumbass who has never worked (most likely) (never served) (never took pride in your nation).. You are the Sheep... By the way U.S. 36% Approval rating for Healthcare reform. 57% not in favor.. Gee who is the dumbass now.....idiot
Yep, the Democrat Health Reform is a total botch and will be an economic disaster. Predicted that it might be about a year ago--i.e. that it might be the worst of both worlds.
Thanks for the confirmation and vote of confidence, feba26.
Other than that fuck your jingo dumbass cannonfoddder ass.
The US is bankrupt. USD is no longer the world reserve currency. The US real economy is comatose and has been for decades. All over but the fat lady folks.
@nilbud -People are dying and starving today because of the wealth gap, which is unparalleled by any other time in American history, and Politics is a game about who is the most popular, and rarely about statesmanship (why i hate politics/capitalism)
@ feba36 - are we merely animals? and the lionesses of the pack hunt for the pride, and even though they share, they still hunt, imo animals are better than people because they aren't afflicted with greed and they feed their entire pride/pack
I'm glad you used the analogy Zombie, most animals don't share food with others in the pride. They only feed there litter. Proverty is no where near what you believe. Most of the proverty or starvation is self inflicted behavior problems. I.E. Most people that live in projects in America wouldn't take care of there kids, there children are a valued commodity. I work for Fed Gov. Housing as a part time employment. A child is money to majority of your project dwellers
Project housing is a mirror image of communism in former Russia. All families are stuck in a non advancement lifestyle. I'm not wealthy Zombie, I'm middle class economically. I do not want to be wealthy, but if I should desire to put hours upon hours of my time to be wealthy then I should have the right. I do believe in monopolized oversight to ensure capitalist competion stays fair, but I don't believe I (tax payer) should pay for someone else to lay around and do nothing for themselves.
So the top 1% controlling 34.3% of America's wealth and the top 10% controlling 70% is acceptable? the point is that we don't have capitalism, we have some bullshit form of corporate control that appears to be capitalist, but in reality it isn't. it isn't good for America to have such an absurd wealth gap. Another problem is bias in taxation. The top 100 Americans pay 17% in taxes a year, Their secretaries pay 35%, go figure.
I see what you are saying Zombie, I don't totally disagree with you, BUT sharing the wealth wont come from the top 1% as Obama may have you believe. The middle class and low income at 50,000.00 or tax bracket will be taxed out the ass so johnny the lazy drunk wont have to work or define himself in productivity. The top 1% pumps money into economy and provide tons of jobs. Regardless what you say that makes America the most productive nation in the world.
Firstly, the Obama tax plan reduces tax for 95% of Americans. Secondly, the trickle down theory you refer to is an outdated excuse to give tax cuts to the rich.
you give them far too much credit. they operate a budget a small family lives on. they arent very high tech, nor do they have the direct backing of any government. they are outlaws everywhere. so yes, you are fearful. there are somethings which they will never be able to do, and a basic look at nuclear security around the world will tell you that obtaining a nuclear weapon is one of those things.
The bin Laden family is also connected with the royal family of Saudi Arabia. A cousin of Usama bin Laden's was best friends with the former king of Saudi Arabia, King Fahad bin Abdul.
The bin Laden family has reportedly severed all ties with bin Laden, but he invested a large amount of money in Al-Qaeda before this and most likely he had a pretty penny tucked away as well.
(cont.) "nor do they have the direct backing of any government. they are outlaws everywhere."
They don't need to be because they are not outlaws in the traditional sense of the word either. They don't have govt. backing but they have tribal backing, which in parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan is more important.
There's a difference between senseless panic and being afraid of serious threats. As far as nuclear security, I reiterate again, look at how close the Taliban got to Islamabad.
fuck you wit ur money ,wats important money or all death sins on your shouler

I am hoping President Obama will end this. It's not just him that makes that choice. Between the BUSH JR invasion and immediate growth in heroin at that time....The real Taliban nearly stopped the heroin growth, but after the CIA US invasion it grew again.

Why do people who support wars DON'T SUPPORT taxes and paying for it? CAUSE THEY ARE HYPOCRITES! They want to kill without paying for it! No balls to have the consequences!

The problem with leaving afghanistan is that we entered to overthrow the taliban and al qaedia, and help afghan militias create a working democracy, and Karzai was the leader of that militia. We went with the hopes of catching bin laden, but so far that has proven to be ineffective, the problem in afghanistan is the US troops lost the initiative without proper reinforcements (which were sent to Iraq, although we did win the war there so far..) We must create a successful democracy in afghanistan
zombikilla92 2 years ago
to show the rest of the world that when you stand up again tyrany and fight for democracy, the United States will support your efforts; the majority of fighting in afghanistan pre-regime change was not done by US spec ops, but by Afghani militia who, for reasons both good and bad, fought under the banner of democracy, and refused to follow the taliban; how can we tell those in nations seeking democracy that if they seek it, we wont help?

This is a excellent point that has finally gotten some attention and well deserved. I was against the first emergancy approbations for the wars. It was well known at that time that the wars were going to be funded by off budget borrowing, not tax revenue. Every approbation after that was met with the same outrage!! Especially when it became known how much of that money was being funneled into pet companies and fat contributors pockets.
Boomer1949 2 years ago
Then came the stalls by Rummy about where the money was being spent. A audit was attempted but failed due to lack of accurate and tractable data. Where was the righteous right back then? As the national debt kept rising, laying the payment of those wars on future generations. It's bullshit to me that all this money went to Wall St, just like the banking fraud and the only results we have seen in both cases are CEO's getting richer.

And now u want to add the biggest entitlement program in the history of mankind to the list?
CollegeLyfe23 2 years ago
A non-profit Federal health Insurance Corporation as basic Health Insurer will save money.
It may cost $200 per person per year.
It will also help the economy.
The present House bill should be deep-sixed.
Any Health Insurance with the participation of for profit Health Insurers will be an economic disaster.
You and your "entitlement" lingo are transparently Social Darwinist and Right Wing.
Every other industrialized country has some form of public health insurance and they doing fine.
mopsius 2 years ago
Yea Great Britain, France, and Canada are doing just fine. It might cover everyone and yes it might give everyone proper health care. But there is one major downside to a public health insurance system, THE COST. If u look at Britain, France and Canada's systems, the costs are out of control. They rise every single year, as all govt programs do. Name one country that is SAVING money from govt run health care. Take Massachusetts for example, costs have risen 43% since they implemented it.
CollegeLyfe23 2 years ago
You have your head up your ass, CollegeLyfe23.
For those who have for profit Heatlh Insurance in the US the average cost is $7000 per year.
One third of all for for profit Health Insurance premiums goes for advertising and executive salaries.
That alone is over $700 billion per year.
mopsius 2 years ago
All the systems you mention allow the participation of private for profit insurers, as does France and Germany.
But France and Germany have the best and it is cheaper than what people in the US are paying now directly and indirectly.
mopsius 2 years ago
A Federal non-profit Health Insurance Corporation with the whole country as the risk pool will save enromous amounts of money.
All other government health insurance, contracted to for profits or government funded, will become unnecessary, including Veteran's care, Medicare, and government employees insurance.
That alone will save trillions.
mopsius 2 years ago
France does allow for a mix of public and private but not Britain or Canada. They have single payer systems. However, if u read about Frances public health care system, u will see that the costs are beginning to get out of control. So what did they start doing? They started privatizing more of the health care industry and adding american style co-pays to help pay for it. Show me an example of a country that has saved money by implementing a public health care system.
CollegeLyfe23 2 years ago
For profit Insurers can contract.
The answer is a Federal non-proift Health Inusrance coproration.
It will reduce costs to a tenth of what they are now.
It will be universal.
It will save money.
It will help the economy.
Any other system will be an economic disaster.
Other than that--you have your head up your ass, CollegeLyfe23.

What did they get out of this war nothing but debt that you the America people have to pay for, that's why your war was a predetermined lose.
aceone1988 2 years ago 3
um, so how is america paying for it at the moment?

When will people wake up and realize both parties are selling us out to the highest bidders. The Military Industrial Complex and the Wall Street Bankers.
Fire Congress, Kick them all out. It is our only hope.

The worst is when everyone knows who is bought out, and its out in the open.. Noone is ever arrested.. Almost always never anyone arrested and kicked out.
Basically should be treason

Here's how you end the war in Afghanistan. We bring our troops home, it's that simple. Afghanistan was a shit hole when we went in there and it will be a shit hole when we leave
codeman1979 2 years ago 2
here is how to end all wars, stop filing taxes,
if you can get enough people to NOT file, you'll be set
how many can they arrest, 500k? a million? 5 mil?
you can get gov. to really work for you instead of banks, corporations,

i think they need to lower the taxes on the poorest of americans, and increase the income tax of the top 1% to 80% of their income, and top 500 should pay 95% (and fix the capital gains tax, it should be inline for the rich to actually pay as much in taxes as the poor)
zombikilla92 2 years ago
that's pure communism.
polos505 2 years ago
is there a problem with pure communism? that shit the ruskies had was not pure communism (yes there are problems with communism, the major one being that humans are not meant to wield so much power, and until there is a truely unbiased system it will never work...but in theory it is the perfect system)
zombikilla92 2 years ago 2
The problem was crappy central planning and a shitty comms net. From each according to their ability to each according to their needs is a lot easier to implement with high speed broadband.
nilbud 2 years ago
well more importantly was that communist party officials got mote food, better living conditions, and better lifestyles than others, so it was not truely communist, the key imo is an AI computer system capable of properly redistributing wealth and work without taking human bias into affect, and in the future when complex robots will be capable of doing all of our physical labor jobs, we will need a new system since capitalism doesn't work without work (i.e. no work, no money, no trading...)
zombikilla92 2 years ago
Sorry when you write " without taking human bias into affect" you just lost the votes. Politics is a function of people and politics is always about changing and bending the rules. Let the capitalists play their games if they wish just not at the expense of peoples lives, not when people are starving.

How is communism perfect system? Does the fastest lion eat more?
Does the fastest gazelle live longer? or
Does the fastest lion share its food and then no longer hunts because he is tasked to feed the pride? No he does not.
Does the fastest Gazelle now slow down so he may perish with the slower Gazelles? No he does not.
Communism failed because the society didn't have the choices to excel and so the theory failed.

You know shit about real lions int he wild, feba36.
You know even less about Capitalsm, Socialism and Communism.

Mopsius,
Thanx for confirming your a typical liberal dumbass who has never worked (most likely) (never served) (never took pride in your nation).. You are the Sheep... By the way U.S. 36% Approval rating for Healthcare reform. 57% not in favor.. Gee who is the dumbass now.....idiot
feba36 2 years ago

@ feba36 - are we merely animals? and the lionesses of the pack hunt for the pride, and even though they share, they still hunt, imo animals are better than people because they aren't afflicted with greed and they feed their entire pride/pack
zombikilla92 2 years ago 2
I'm glad you used the analogy Zombie, most animals don't share food with others in the pride. They only feed there litter. Proverty is no where near what you believe. Most of the proverty or starvation is self inflicted behavior problems. I.E. Most people that live in projects in America wouldn't take care of there kids, there children are a valued commodity. I work for Fed Gov. Housing as a part time employment. A child is money to majority of your project dwellers
feba36 2 years ago
Project housing is a mirror image of communism in former Russia. All families are stuck in a non advancement lifestyle. I'm not wealthy Zombie, I'm middle class economically. I do not want to be wealthy, but if I should desire to put hours upon hours of my time to be wealthy then I should have the right. I do believe in monopolized oversight to ensure capitalist competion stays fair, but I don't believe I (tax payer) should pay for someone else to lay around and do nothing for themselves.
feba36 2 years ago
So the top 1% controlling 34.3% of America's wealth and the top 10% controlling 70% is acceptable? the point is that we don't have capitalism, we have some bullshit form of corporate control that appears to be capitalist, but in reality it isn't. it isn't good for America to have such an absurd wealth gap. Another problem is bias in taxation. The top 100 Americans pay 17% in taxes a year, Their secretaries pay 35%, go figure.
zombikilla92 2 years ago
I see what you are saying Zombie, I don't totally disagree with you, BUT sharing the wealth wont come from the top 1% as Obama may have you believe. The middle class and low income at 50,000.00 or tax bracket will be taxed out the ass so johnny the lazy drunk wont have to work or define himself in productivity. The top 1% pumps money into economy and provide tons of jobs. Regardless what you say that makes America the most productive nation in the world.
feba36 2 years ago
Firstly, the Obama tax plan reduces tax for 95% of Americans. Secondly, the trickle down theory you refer to is an outdated excuse to give tax cuts to the rich.

you give them far too much credit. they operate a budget a small family lives on. they arent very high tech, nor do they have the direct backing of any government. they are outlaws everywhere. so yes, you are fearful. there are somethings which they will never be able to do, and a basic look at nuclear security around the world will tell you that obtaining a nuclear weapon is one of those things.

"they operate a budget a small family lives on"
Osama Bin Laden comes from a rich Saudi construction family. Moreover you've obviously never read anything of the opium trade in Afghanistan.
"they arent very high tech"
They don't need to be.
