Starting the ACME NB16

Hi, I'm thinking of getting an acme nb16 for my birthday, I just need to know if I can replace the pull starter with a roto start. Secondly, about how long does a tank of fuel last? Plz reply ASAP as i need to get it by mid next week. Thanks.

@Slatert97 unfortunately a roto start back plate is not available yet. One tank lasts 10 mins or so

@monkeyboyjoe21 Wouldn't say its normal no, but it's a common problem :) Turn the idle down using throttle trim or remove the air filter and check the idle gap is between 1-2mm open. It should be around 1.5mm open and you can adjust it by using your idle speed screw

@NITROPRONB16 There is hardly any difference between 15% and 16%. You don't necessarily need that % anyway. 25% will be fine :)

hi mate i will be buyin a nitro car in the next few weeks. bin lookin on nitrotek and saw the NB16 buggy wat are the pros and cons. can you buy upgrades for it if so wat do they do and wat sort of upgrades are they. and bin looking at the condor pro is this any good? cheers for any info and advice you can tell me..

@24Stiffler Dont get it, if you do then be prepared to spend alot of money on it :D Get ACME's latest models, they are much better.

Although your question, yes you can get upgrades for it.

I just got my nb16 and it sprays fuel out of the engine also the radio doesn't work cos it shot off like a roket and crashed a wall breaking the left wheel off and i didn't touch the remote, other than that it's a cool car.

i got my nb 16 finally and it wont start any advice i think its because the engines cold so put i near a radiator but low heat can help me with some advice

@310iresh Check the glow plug, prime the engine alot, also check that your igniter is fully charged. It should start :)

@daewootech Seems a common problem with this car, try to tune the engine right, check glow plugs and make sure igniter is fully charged. :)

@jthornley12 yeah i worked on it for about 4 hours, shortened my fuel lines since there was extra slack when i replaced them before, spent a good amount of the time tweaking with the carb, seems to have been partly the fuel partly the carb because once i got it primed a good amount it finally started to startup, but only a few revolutions, then a bit more and more. it starts now, and idles finally on its own, now i just gotta get it to go, once i give it gas it turns off..

@daewootech if it stalls when you accelerate then tune the engine a bit :) lean out low end and see if that works ok

Although I can give you some brands for Not what to look for ehhehe :) Don't buy anything that has a Team infinity engine in it, they are not good for beginners :) Have a look at ACME 1/8 models on Nitrotek site or Redcat racing RC cars, depending on what country your in :)

The engines are not awful mate, its the people who use them :) Once they are tuned they are great engines. Team infinity engine is no different to any other , just get it tuned good and they run fine.

hi i have just got a new car im a bit new to this and it run's fine and run's good but when i start it walks away like run's a way a tiny bit i way i whant to say still when i start it and when it idleing so do i just tern the idle screw down a little tiny bit.

Yep turn idle screw down a little, and also check your not running it too lean. But if its a new engine, then new engines seem to run a way a little in the first few runs anyways ;)

Yeh it does. Its just like pulling on the starter but theres no compression at all isnt it?! Mines not too good to start either, especially with this problem :( Check the one way bearing is correctly installed, thats all I can think of :)

Well engine was cold, and clutch always engages late on this little engine :) Often when its cold I have to pull trigger nearly open full until the clutch engages

do u no what ma problem is i have a roto start when i insert the dog bone in the backing plate it turns clockwise for a sec and when i press the button it docent go round eny more i think its just flooded a lot do u think it is also i was messing around with settings. what do u recomend.

Yep flooded engine or battery not charged enough. For settings return them to default settings and then retry

i have tuned my engine good by the way and i just wanted to know when i tern the steering on the remote it terns right like it is supposed to but it makes a clicking noise when i tern the steering right a clicking noise do u no what i should do. when i tern it left it turns good and makes no noise only when i tern right i makes a clicking noise

my nitro rampage is flooded  a lot so do i just take the glow plug out tip it up side down and pull the pull start

or 1 thing even tho its a slide carb when u look at the low speed needle is the still supposed to be a millimeter gap mine is like 5 millimeter gap is this what you are saying tern it clock wire to get it like 1 millimeter or near to it and tern down idle if nessary

Open the carb fully. the two pins should have a 1mm- 2mm gap. Close the low speed needle until there is a 1-2mm gap. The idle speed should be a 1.5mm gap for idle position. What engine is this? :) Or do a video of your problem, start it up in the video and show your problem

when i put the throttle trim on zero on the remote it zoomes off when i have it on 3 it slows down and when i tern the idle counter clock wiser it still stay at the speed it docent lower much and it moves a bit with out me pressing the throttle so u do think its the low speed needle needs leaing out and the revs tearing down the low speed needle needs tering clock wise and the tern the idle down a bit

i have just go it out the box it is a slide carb do i tern it counter clockwise a bit and tern the low speed needle.The idle down when i tern the idle counter clockwise it goes a bit faster and stays at that speed. and when i have the throttle trim on 0 row on the remote and it start the car it zooms off when i have the throttle trim on 3it run's a bit ok

To lower the idle speed screw, turn it counter clockwise. To lean out the low speed needle turn it 1/8th turn clockwise. What car is it? :)

To richen, Counter clockwise turn. To lean, clockwise turn. The Low speed needle needs leaning, the high speed needle needs richening

well you need to richen out the high speed needle and richen out the low speed needle too. Also lower the idle speed screw if necessary :)
