  • exactly how much gunpowder did you put in that cannon? I'm trying to make a quiet cannon that doesn't scare my neighbours and I need to know how much to put in.

  • wow i wanna try

  • how did you block up the other end? and what gunpowder did you use?

  • melted aluminum.

    and home made gunpowder.

  • how the hell did you melt aluminium? lead would work too maybe. dam how hard was making the powder

  • aluminum melts fairly easy, burn hardwood until you get embers, then you should be able to melt it.

the powder wasnt that hard, either, i just took components of fireworks and mixed them together to create a relatively mild gunpowder.

  • i could do the led bit using air rifle pellets.

what? you used fireworks? shittin hell ive tryed that but my powder is shit, ive mixed it with shotgun powder but no good. can you tell me how you made your powder?

  • shotgun powder is just black powder. there is very little gunpowder in it. to get more of a "bang" sound, you need to wedge some sort of projectile in the barrel so that no air can get past it. in my case, it was a lead bb i molded for it.

  • i dont think any of my shotgun shells are black powder and anyway they dont really work well. what kind of fireworks do you use?

  • the main propellant in the big bottle rockets (the "Texas Size" ones are my personal favorite) and then compress it and put in a small amount of waater/oil so that it is grainy instead of powdery.

  • well ive taken some powder from a firework we had last night, its orange powder but theres lots of hard lumps. if i can ill get some rockets and take the powder out. what difference does adding water make?

  • add just a little bit of water too make it stick together, if you add too much, it wont work. but when the powder get water on it, it pulls together and makes little grains.

  • will it do that with the orange powder? can i store it after ive put water on it or do i have to use it straight away?

  • you have to let it dry off, but if there are already lumps in it, you dont need to add water to it.

oh, are you sure that the orange powder isnt clay? light a few grams on fire and see what it does.

  • yeah i will see what it is but it was from one of those fireworks which they call a cake.

there was tonnes of it that came out of it, i bet knowing my luck it will be clay. if it is theres still more fireworks left and ill have a look

  • alright, good luck!

  • yeah i think it is gay clay. spose i cud sneak sum fireworks without anyone knowing. its real anoyin that i cant get decent powder from the fireworks ive got at the min, if i get a few rockets or wheels i will open them and get the powder

  • AWSOME!!!

  • that was so awesome!!! nice mini cannon =)

  • That was very cool...

  • haha that was super cool man!

    g'job
