  • Been trying various body armors, and none have the protection like hockey armor does. Especially for the cost. I simply can't justify the 100-300 prices for this thin plastic stuff. I got some Easton shorts with hip/kidney protection (plastic with padding under it). Don't even bother with those wimpy kidney belts from these "pro" MX and cycle companies. They'll leave you injured. People don't realize that broken hip bones are serious in their own right. I enjoy these reviews though.

  • Forgot to mention that I find most of the "full" armor to be lacking in one or two areas. Those being the elbow/forearm and collar area. And most of the "half" or just upper armor suits fail to provide shoulder armor, leaving you exposed. I looked at the Commander(out of production) and it's got shoulder, but not enough. And the back piece is small. Again this is an area where hockey upper armor excels. And for a much cheaper price.

  • the solution to your only complaint has already been done in the past. they made a 3/4 suit (top + compression shorts with thigh and hip pads). they never move. but they do feel uncomfortable sometimes on the package. to fix that, i sometimes wear padded shorts

sadly they dont make em anymore.
