Allen's a good guy, but a wimp. "We can do better? True to ME? If this were actually true, he'ld have done his job & called for investigations on the articles of impeachment drafted by 65 ME attorneys, & 20,000 registered Maine voters calling for hearings! Won't vote for him, or Collins, we've too many ballsless dems in congress...
No one, including Senator Collins, has faulted Tom for missing votes for legitimate family reasons. It's when he misses three days of votes to attend a fundraiser in California or skips work to go to the All Star Game that I feel he's broken the promise he made to represent me and the rest of his constitutents in Congress.
You're wrong. This video alone references over 4 votes that were missed for family reasons. Combine that with Collins hitting Allen last spring for missing some inconsequential votes to attend the funeral of his cousins wife. This is type of behavior is what I'd expect from Karl Rove not Our Senator. Her whole argument is crap anyway. Missing 2% of over 7,000 votes over a period of 11 years? Sounds pretty human to me.

I want to know what he said after "yeah, I missed a vote". Because it appears he was going to his mother's funeral and taking care of his wife who had breast cancer. I wish Susan Collins would miss a few George Bush votes and stop this kind of gutter politics
I couldn't agree more. And many of them seem like meaningless "feel good" votes -- for commemorations and memorials that probably passed easily and by large margins. In other words, bullshit that Congress wastes its time on at the taxpayers' expense because members think they're duping us into believing they're all wonderful and caring people. It's not how many votes Congress completes -- it's WHAT they for that counts.
Typical Republican tactic of taking a non-issue (vote tally), presenting 'facts' out of context, and making a personal attack of it. Everyone should take a long, hard look at HOW Senator Collins voted. There lies the truth of who will better serve the citizens of Maine and the US.
Funny you refer to comments as vitriolic. When this video is nothing if not vitriolic and hate filled. Collins is back to her to the same dirty tactics she uses when she cannot campaign on the issues or her record. In 1996 she did the same thing when running against Brennan. Collins lied about her role in 1996 and her lies didn't really come to light until after the election. (during the 1999 testimony of her 1996 campaign manager Robert Tyrer at a libel trial)
Interesting to only see hate filled Democrats commenting on the first day of this video.... Tells me these people watching are scared and have nothing better to do. Get a job and a life......
Btw, who sent you all a link so that you can fill the comments up with vitriolic comments?
Senator Collins. I have voted for you in the past even though I'm a registered Democrat. You crossed the line here. How many votes have you missed? Maybe you should be entrenched with the troops rather than entrenched with the senate good ole boys. Peace.
And what is your point? Check how Susan Collins has voted. When push comes to shove and she has to make the choice between being George Bush's lap dog or an independent politician for Maine first and foremost, she has chosen Dubya. Her voting record is nothing to brag about. Collins is not the moderate she sells herself as.
Is Sen. Collins married? Does she even have a personal life? Is she gay? Is this really where she wants to go?
Collins voted to confirm Justices Roberts and Alito. Time to go Susan, (besides didn't you pledge not to seek muliple terms?). I would of rather Sen. Collins had missed a few votes, because when it really mattered she voted wrong!
It's not surprising Sen. Suzie-Q is going after future Senator Tom Allen's family, because it diverts attention away from herself. Yeah, yeah, she doesn't want Mainers to know that when she shows up to cast a vote, she's voting for George Bush only and no one else. Whatever Georgie wants Suzie-Q will give him! Oh yeah, and plus....she doesn't want her sexuality to come into question either. Oopsie.
Let me guess...Lance Dutson made the video? It sucks. My son could do better and he's 13.
Allen missed a number of votes between his father's death, his mother's death, and assisting his wife with cancer. Senator Collins and her staff should be ashamed for creating this video. Clearly she is concerned that she can't stand on her record for her to stoop so low. This only convinces me my vote for Tom Allen for US Senate is a good choice.
Congressman Allen and Senator Collins have served the same 11 years in Washington. During that time, he has cast about 7,020 votes, compared to her 3,700.
I'm a susan collins supporter but this video is retarded. Seriously, wtf?

Maine wants someone who does their job... obviously Tom Allen is not qualified. Collins has my vote.

Allen has a 98% voting record. He has cast over 7,000 in his career. Senator Collins should be above this kind of pathetic attack.

I'm not completely against challenging opponents in ads but to do so on an issue where one has a worse record is misrepresenting the facts.
