Golden harvest were with them and played I need your love and a couple of others. The golden harvest guitarist played some shit with his teeth and we all just thought it was the greatest . I moved to Aus not long after but my heart still remembers, Fucken Ace man!

(Although th' dudes released theirs first ;)

  • Am I getting old or dont they make music like this anymore? GO DAVE what a Kiwi talent

  • Your not getting old. they dont make music like this any more.

  • WOWEE- even in his early days, Dave had the goods for sure- talent just waiting to burst the seams! Davo's a long way from the streets of Glen Innes where he grew up (incidentally me too)- he was a familiar sight there a few years ago. A true home grown hero

New Zealand and Dave Dobbyn should be credited for Napoleon Dynamite. I think its obvious where the idea came from...

  • You know i always thought Dobbyn looked like Yoda.... Yoda's green though.

  • Dave, you rock man!

  • YES you are wrong the best bands to come out of new zealand are split enz , headless chickens , and the swingers

  • Dave is definately in top 5 male singer song writers of New Zealand

  • so much potential

  • NICE!!!!!! Kiwi music the way it should be!!!!!

  • Dave wrote a bunch of great songs but none better than this classic. (I'm only guessing that Dave wrote it - feel free to correct me)

  • Choice as bro!

  • 1978 in fact. And did you know this song was originally titled 'Quite Frankly'?

  • Awesome ;-)

  • Dave you are proof Kiwi's can and always will be some of the unsung greats locally or globally I'am rapt.

  • LOL! Dave Dobbyn looks like Napoleon Dynamite.

  • naw Napoleon Dynamite looks like Dave Dobbyn... he was there first haha

  • kiwi music.. it doesn't get any better than this :)

  • ever seen music like this nowadays?...wanna know why?...because music nowdays is shit

  • Much music is being churned out but so much of it is a poor imitation of what has been done better in the past. The same goes for movies. True originality is hard to come by these days, that's for sure.

  • All the love is gone in the music today. I know what you are saying. I want to live back in these times man. Everyone had more passion back then. And jezz, like they say, you could leave the keys in the car.

  • and its all because the music industry is a bunch of right wing money wanting pigs, they reject talent for looks and thats why you dont see great bands on TV

  • @BrickUnit agreed. As with everything, don't make them like they used to lol

  • @BrickUnit Shit yeah, oldskool Dobbyn is the man

  • @BrickUnit ...I agree 100%

  • @BrickUnit you do, it's just harder to find. To be honest though, you know you're getting old when you don't like any of todays music.

  • kiwi in oz,and i love to jam this song down there throats, lol

  • A song that many NZ adults will have drilled into their brains by Radio Hauraki...

  • peter urlich looked like such a homo back then
