I have read that vowel changes and letter changes were made, but I couldn't tell you what characters or when they were made. Being so isolated I understand that Icelandic did not change as much as German, and especially English. Changes did occur though. I read just now though that most Icelandic speakers can read old Icelandic with little trouble. Which I have to admit, is pretty cool.
