  • i like your last words "the experience of living in the west is not conducive to our well being", it chimes with my own view on the subject of mental health.

more detailed videos about environment vs mental health:

    watch?v=J_O24tnqs_U "A Theory of Mental Health 1"

    watch?v=mgqIUf8Jg-c "A Theory of Mental Health 2"

    watch?v=-P6_FwpVo_s "Psychiatry the fraud"

there is more on my channel - playlist: culture

  • @tubebility Thanks, will check them out

  • 1) in england, the indians, turkish, jews, and even the scotish and welsh, have their own cultural congregations, schools, housing agencies, and publications.

yet, it seems to be that every time an african male is born, he has to reinvent the wheel - starting out in life with a deficit ...often alone!

  • 2) who does a black male go to (like elders), to get his cultural boost from if (usually) he didn't get it from his family?

and, just like other cultures have established for their people in this country; where does he go to for guidance on (miss)education, housing, debt, mental health, ...life? because, i've never heard of such a place.

ps: i'm sure a few people have solid foundations and don't need anybody for anything, so i'm talking mainly about... regular people :P

  • Great vid. Thanks SO MUCH for posting this!! You have a new subscriber. It is hard for those around me to deal with my issues but lucky for me I have a tight nit group of understanding people. The worse thing is when we flip out and go through the legal system. So far I have been very lucky with support tho. We need more people like you!

  • @CanadianLulz Your welcome CanadianLulz Yes family support is absolutely vital and I'm glad to hear you have that. I kinda forgot about this video so I'm happy that it's still impacting people

  • IT IS nearly the same here in the states I suffer from schizophrenia and I see about the very same situations and circumstances that you are describing here, it is very sad. we do have a pretty good mental health care system however it is a matter of access and many people of color due to financial constraints can't access some of the better services and as a result suffer in many devastating ways. I will do more studying of your videos. I have devoted the majority of my page to mental health.

  • boi av i got a story for you but i wont tell it because its not my story to tell... allll i can say is england doesnt do very well for its mentaly ill black community... social workers and government do not do there job,, im also very aware of black people dissassosiating themself from there own family because of there affliction,, black people need to do alot more in a community take responsibilty for eachother , cos kno 1 is goin to do it for u especialy not the system... 1 love

  • Thanks for your comments bro. I think we can't rely on the system. We have to do what we can to preent our people ending up in the system in the first place.

  • I think its was shown in a study somewhere that migrants/immigrants communities/ethnic minorities everywhere suffer from more severe psychotic problems than the stable dominant majority.

Perhaps, and its just a thought, 'Blacks' seem to suffer more, cos of a kind of real rootlesslessness? From a lack of an agreed social definition like for e.g Brits of Pakistani or Polish origin?

  • Yep, I'd say that is definitely a major factor in this.

  • i can agree strongly with this

  • Truth will make you free !!!

  • interesting video, i do agree with you, but i do believe that there are practices within psychiatry that make black people more likely to enter into an instutition than white people. Of course mental illness within our community should be address, but i don't believe that these statistics are as reliable as they would want us to believe

  • Good comment. For sure, there are some insititutional issues, like the way that mental illness is defined and also the interplay between law enforcement and mental health agencies. Even school needs looking at in terms of how the experience of going to school seems to prepare us, especially males, for entrance into the mental health system.

  • many brothers and sissters tell me that all these mental health issues can be caused due 2 a chemical imbalance in the brain and things such as our diet

we really need 2 stop smoking and drinking and try 2 be as clean living as possible so we can see truths and understand that there is a problem regarding mental health

  • Definitely. Alot of these things are inter-related and I think diet definitely has a role to play in the mental health issue. Eventually, I'm planning on doing a vid about our health.

  • there is a book iam gona get about how 2 cook food 4 diabetics and because them vaccines that are given 2 our aunts and grandparents i would not trust them at all and jewell pookrams book and Ato Z on vitamins is a book book 4 melanin dominate people talking about diets which help our body and when in the year 2 eat them

  • Sounds interesting. I definitely need to start doing some research into diet.

  • I have a relative who suffers from mental illness so thanks for bringing this subject up. You're right very little is known about the subject and with the stigma attached, it makes it doublie (is that a word?) hard to deal with. Well done, brother. I really like the off-the-field subjects that you bring up.

  • You're more than welcome brother . There's a LOT more to be said on the issue of mental illness within our communities.

  • Mental health (and health in general) is a really important issue in the black community and I'm glad you brought it up.

  • There's this model for causes of psychiatric disease; BioPsychoSocial - Biological, Psychological and Social factors interplay.

  • Its a set up check this out: watch?v=8RcQ68weq2E

Yes, there is some mental illness with black ppl called post slave syndrome, but its not as high a percentage as they are making it seem. They want to make as many blacks incapable as possible on purpose. Watch the vids-its eugenics. You even said yourself they are targeting more males. Thats because the absence of the male ruins the family structure and leaves women and children more vulnerable. Same thing they did with the welfare system.

  • Thanks for the link. I'm going to check out that series this evening when I get home.

We should be looking inward to our own people and to consider what we can do to address the whole thing. But part of this definitely needs us to wise up to the fact that the countries that we live in are largely run by people who hate us and who have developed systems to keep us in decline and chaos.

    Thanks again.

  • I think it's actually stronger because it's being associated with schizophrenia.

  • Yeah, skunk is high-grade cannabis. I think it might be the same thing as Americans call Chronic. It's normally really bright green with yellowish bits in it. It's a whole different ballgame from "normal" weed.

  • honest question. Im not opposed to integration and so forth, but ive always wondered... do you think that blacks should be able to have their own culture, customs etc, and whites should and latinos, etc..?? do you think the cultural melting pot is a good thing or bad thing?? Im not getting into whether one color is better, because before Hashem we are all equal and thats all that matters in that regard.

  • We should not be a melting pot, where everyone's culture traditions and individuality is blended into a homogenous soup. We should be like a salad - where the many ingredients keep their colour, texture and flavours, but still go well together.

  • well, I guess a follow up would be this...

Some cultural traditions are intimately bound to religious beliefs- don't have an example of this.. but for instance but should religous laws or cultural laws be allowed to trump secular laws? in the whole idea of salad?

  • I agree fully with the salad thesis!

  • My second movie, which is still in the making and will be released in April, is called '2 Bees In A Bucket'. This short film explores the connection between the powerful skunk cannabis and psychosis, which is effecting genetically vulnerable youths in our community. I would be interested in your opinion of problem we are facing.

  • Sounds fantastic. Please keep me posted on that.

High strength weed is definitely a factor in the whole mental health problem. I remember when I used to into smoking. There was a time when skunk suddenly became cheaper than normal weed. Then it got to a point when , there wasn't any normal weed around at all.
