I`ve been cruising thru the Santa Barbara channel at 1:00 am am and the coast gaurd said don`t bother stoppin` by. I told the skipper and he said he was gonna teach us to surf in the morning with a very exspensive Riviera yacht. We needed the fuel. Try being out there before you say shit. There wer boats waiting off shore and we punched those 1650 marine cats and hauled ass. til you been in that harbor with low pressure and big swells you can shut the hell up!!

why would you send a 49 foot boat through the surf? Any boat that is inside the surf line is going to end up on the beach, no matter what, and if there is anyone in the water inside the surf line, all you need is a jet ski.

Morro has its moments of shear terror and is definitely psycho on giant w/nw swells, and packs a lotta punch in the "channel" when it is this size. In my humble opinion Cape Dissapointment sets the standard. Wicked opposing currents and shifting sand bars at the mouth of columbia river. large area of foul water. enormous winter swells all season. Both places can make a grown man wince. Good video.

I am in the Army...but Id like to say that I really do appreciate the Coast Guard..I have never been rescued or nothing like that...but they are doing something great even tho they arn't like really combat oriented they are protecting and saving lives every single day, and keeping the dirt out of our country...so I think everyone should appreciate the Coast Gaurd

@vinceing this is very good but i think that coast guard station cape disappointment out of ilwaco wa. takes the cake since it is the uscg best motor life boat school and a rescue swimmer school also.
