Well i have no source but its easy to figure out. Of the 8 SPE's on the cell 6 are useable by a game developer so 6 of 8 = 75% and please take into account that when they say 90% of the power includes the gpu too not just the cell

The thing about consoles is that because the hardware never changes games can and do look better and better throughout the consoles life cycle. The PS2 was weak as hell, but look at God of War. Developers find ways to squeeze more and more out of the hardware in the consoles the more they work with them.

PC PPC (without cell technology) has more than 6,5 million users.

Code Masters, Sierra, and Starbreeze Studios are just a few examples of developers who are releasing software across both platforms. If a developer can write software for the Cell, writing the same code for a PC or Xbox is cake. Its much less complicated. The only time it is going to be code that will run on the PS3 and not the Cell is when the hardware on the Cell is being used more heavily, and the Xbox 360 just cant keep up. That won't happen for some time though.

The Xbox 360 can keep it up but you have to code the program in a different way.

The GPU in the ps3 is to weak for the cell processor. So PS3 will have a better AI than the Xbox 360 (harder is not always more fun) and perhaps more players in the multiplayer but no better graphics.

There's nothing there that you're going to apply to anything else. You're not going to gain anything except a hatred of the architecture they've created. Your ignorant as they come, and entirely wrong. MIT, Virginia Tech, and some of the best technical universities there are have courses based around the Cell. If you can write code for the Cell, you can write for any hardware available, and hardware that Intel and AMD are developing which have graphics and general purpose cores on a single chip. It is the highest standard in technology, and any company that invests in writing for it will be able to use that towards everything else.

Their a new advent, their cutting edge, and undoubtedly more complex but that is unavoidable when it comes to new technology. It is an IBM chip, Intel and AMD are developing chips of the same kind. The Cell only has 2 general purpose cores, the rest of them are specialized for specific types of processing just like a GPU. GPU's can be used to crunch numbers just like a CPU, some kinds of numbers they crunch much better than a CPU. The Cell has distinct cores that process specific types of instructions faster than a general purpose core. When the code is organized to take advantage of that, it can process more efficiently than a GPU or CPU.
