There are heavy politics at play in the happiest place on earth. They have made it a part time gig by hiring a bunch of players and only giving them a day or two of work. This allows the mouse to not pay benefits and undermines the union. Too bad. It is a good thing they haven't changed things in Orlando. Jim Omohundro is about the only person playing ragtime full time and making a good living.
Well, we don't all get to enjoy living in a dream job our whole lives long.
I'm not the least bit enthusiastic about unions, and I figure a person has just got to suck it up and apply their brain power to make a decent living without having to rely on power politics and unions to push their way around for them.
My point was that the management has taken what was a great gig and diminished the quality of music by breaking it up. The have hired a number of good musicians, but for many of them they would rather be playing other kinds of music and are slumming by playing ragtime. The results is that the public is not hearing first class ragtime at this supposed ragtime gig. The management is saving money by thinking the public won't know the difference.
Of course it starts with Tom Brier's famous "Razor Blades". I can't place the first and the last two of the Disney medley, though. It's been so long since I've seen some of the classics!
So is Adam auditioning for the gig at Disneyland?

Hey Ron!
Maybe Adam will tune in and help me out with titles and whatnots.
Fun seeing you at the festival and I loved your Elmer Fudd routine!
Best,
Tom
