I BOUGHT MINE IN MARCH OF 2007 AND IT'S STILL RUNNING STRONG,THAT'S ABOUT 1800 DAYS @ 8 TO 10 HOURS A DAY.......HMMMMMMMM,18,000 HOURS ON MY ORIGINAL LAMP? I MUST BE ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES. : )

I HAVE 2 HITACHI TVS, 4 YEARS OLD AND IT BROKE!!! THE FUNNY PART? THEY NO LONGER MAKE THE PARTS TO REPAIR IT. DON'T EVER BUY A HITACHI. IS JUST GARBAGE.

Not to talk crap to the owner's of these but i dont think the reliability is that good. I have one Mitsu for 15 years an a brand new one with no problems but my Toshiba only lasted 4...

Do not buy this tv.. I have one worked for 8 months before the bulb blew, 6 months later the color wheel went out..There is a classaction lawsuit against toshiba for these models..JUNK

My sister gave me this tv and I'm having the same problems. Bulb went out in 8mos and now the tv won't power on properly. Do you know how to get in on the class action lawsuit?

@geerider94 I just got one of these TV's free because it needed an $85 bulb. I read that the bulb will last 5000 to 8000 hours but will get weaker and weaker as the hours go by. It's amazing what people throw out these days. In the old days black and white TV's were passed down from family to family with replacing tubes of all sized/shapes/and prices over the years. They should have a big notice on the TV displays in the store about the bulbs (called lamps).

Plasma Tv is still the best. Pionner TV is definitely the best Plasma tv out there, although it is expensive. I would say, go for panasonic plasma tv.

DLP is by far the best picture out there.

Plasma is just the new "trend" of slim styled TV's.

Best picture quality goes for DLP of course ! still, they r quite bigger than the LCD ! I personally changed my 47" Plasma for a 64" DLP, and believe me, the picture is just amazing, and it doesnt take that much space anyway !

My Toshiba 42hm66 sucks. I have a problem with the color wheel. I can't find one to replace it. Now its just sitting in the garage. Toshiba SUCKS!

I have the same tv it has a far better picture then the LCD tvs I have.

BTW they already apparently fixed the heat issue as mine has never gone out since I owned it.

You got that right man, Wow, At least there are a few intelligent people out there that know DLP is way better. You should try a mitsubishi DLP with a 6 segment color wheel engine. Its breath taking. My parents 2 year old LG lcd is alot dimmer now then before and there color is duller than hell, My dad kicked himself in the head for buying it and is always stunned when he comes over and sees my Mitsubishi tv. I hope they never stop making them so smart people like us can buy them still.

I've serviced TV's since 1975. These new Toshiba's aren't worth the box they come in. This model will in a short time turn itself off till it cools then back on every 15 minutes. I would tell everyone what the cure is but I would be out of a job.

Plasma sucks ass. When it starts lookin YELLOW after 2 yrs then say something. Cant even play video games PLASMA. DLP is way better then plasma and lcd. Feel sorry for u plasma and lcd owners who will be throwing away your tv in 4-5 years. Whats the use of having a flat panel if your going to put on a STAND??? LOL stupid people.
