However, God said that these works cannot get you into heaven because it means you are counting on yourself to make it into heaven. However, God said that works cannot earn you a place in heaven, only BELIEVING in the Saviour of this world, God's son is enough.

You don't have to 'work' to be saved as you can recieve salvation on your death bed, but from what I have seen 'works' come as faith grows and its done for the glory of god and because we love him. My advice is don't give one penny or one second of your time if it isn't for the love and glory of God and to do his will.

On the contrary, He sent His son to live a perfect life without sin while living through the pain and suffering of man. He then gave His life on the cross as an all sufficient sacrifice.
