Skyrim is so glitchy it's not even fun, I got 70 hours of played time and while u can complete some quests using console comm there are others in which completing one quest, won't let you get the follow up quest, because of things like this I can't do Battle for Whiterun, one of the most important/epic parts of the game. Bethesda made players their beta testers, I haven't tested DA2 yet but from my exp skyrim will lose to any game, never played such a horrid game in 16 years of gaming.
@Cellfactor1000 Skyrim is the most bugged game I've ever seen and the bugs aren't minor, they actually stop you from doing quests, your literally forced to use console commands to progress on some of them once they are stuck and sometimes not even that helps you. Sorry if I disagree with the 90% of the people here, but skyrim is just a good game, no where near what people say it is. Patch 1.4 and still sucking, present me facts that counter arguement this, than come again.
Skyrim took five years to develop while Dragon Age II only took one. That said, I rather play a game that has had time and effort put into it than something that has been rushed.

@jtgl2629 Try adjusting the difficulty slider to "Master" and I doubt you'll find anything in Skyrim, let alone dragons, "too easy" as you say. In fact, your character will probably spend much of the game from that point forward picking up his teeth off the floor. Oh, and BioWare's adopting Skyrim's open-world mechanic for DA3, pretty much acknowledging that even THEY think that Skyrim is a better game than Dragon Age 2.
ok i'll say it,skyrim was the 2nd worst thing ive ever played and dragon `age was the best it has a better story, lets you have more than one person with you and you can develop relationships with them and the dragons are nearly impossible to beat unlike skyrim where its almost to easy and you can go on side quests for your companions to the fighting may not be better but everything else is
I feel it extremely wrong to compare DAO to Skyrim tho. It feels like comparing a golf ball to a boulder. There is a huge difference between both. SKyrim's mainquests lead you thru some 20 hours of gameplay, and it doesnt matter how much you liked the game, as long as the mainquests end half of the excitement dies. DAO's mainquests lead you thri some 60 hours of gameplay.
The longer the game actually has a purpose, the better and more entertaining.

As long as the main quests end, the "game story" ends, and your purpose ends.

Dragon Age Origins focuses the depths of characters which I think is good for the game... but then I took an arrow to the knee when I played DA2... I was asking... what's the use of bolstering the characters if the new fucker is gonna be Hawke?

just reading comments on here...can i get an honest comparison most of the comments seem like people are just riding on the the skyrim bandwagon. I personally like the DA games better and to be honest, i tried oblivion and the slow start killed it for me. the graphics didn't seem that great and the characters looked horrible compared to DA. Well this video clip is missleading graphics wise; They are comparing DA2's CG graphics to Skyrim's real time graphics engine!!! In reality DA2's graphics are mediocre.
You can't really compare the two games because they're both completely different. Where skyrim fails dragon age succeeds and where dragon age fails skyrim succeeds. Both are equally good and addictive games. However games in the elder scrolls series tend to be better than the previous game and i refuse to call dragon age 2 a dragon age game.
@Otobob Well they are different kinds of RPGs alright. DA2 has better storyline and more fleshed out characters. But the graphics engine is well dated (we should not be forgeting the recycled environments as well) and its really linear and too simplistic for my liking. Skyrim is a vast world full of life with gorgeous graphics to explore and great missions. Skyrim and Witcher 2 are epic DA2 just pales in comparison.
@panathatube If you mean dragon age 2 has a better story line than skyrim i will have to disagree. The entire story line of the game seemed like me kissing everyones bum and trying to make money. @Otobob P.S Only one of the characters in dragon age 2 were interesting and that was varric. The rest were annoying and never stopped complaining about how there lives are crap. However the combat in the game was greatly improved. However dragon age 2 is more like a mass effect dlc were commander shepherd goes back in time and becomes hawke and the story line is set around the time of a dragon age game.

DA2: This version of the saga isnt what every one expected, because maybe the fighting and graphics are superior than DAO, but it doesnt have the customization that DAO has and isnt more expansive.

DA:2 was nothing compared to Origins, or it's own trailer.
Skyrim on the otherhand? Looks just like the trailer. Hell the trailer is pretty much gameplay on ultra settings, with some slightly different animations. Seriously. And the story is infinitely better than Dragon Age, and ths is coming from someone who LOVED Origins. But if you look at the Lore of TES, and I don't mean just the games, the entire series. It's about 10x the size of Origins and 100x deeper. And gets confusing, too.

Skyrim eats Dragon age's face off, without doubt it will be RPG of the year. That includes flogging Dark souls, Mass effect 3. It's not a repetitive thing, every character has in depth story behind them, mini quest. so detailed if you were to kill a shop keeper their heir would take the shop and hate you. I think that dragons look just a bit more alive in Skyrim, the movement, their way of combat and all that. And TES does have a very open world, combined with a much smoother gameplay system than in Oblivion. The best thing about both DA and Mass Effect is the story, which is very movielike, and perhaps contributes to making the game feel more linear. My vote would be with Bethesda, but both DA and Mass Effect are worth playing.

I have played both games and prefer Skyrim myself but Dragon Age II is still a good game but not as good as the first one.
Both are different playstyles too, DA II is more stratergy and team battles in a linear world and more story driven.
Skyrim is more open world and gives you lots to do, the game isn't focused much on story either but has a lot to explore.

@tehort Dragon age origins and skyrim i would have to say are equally good. Whatever dragon age origins fails in skyrim succeeds. Whatever Skyrim fails in Dragon age 1 succeeds. Skyrim is much better than dragon age 2 however and dragon age 2 was a disgrace to the series

just reading comments on here...can i get an honest comparison most of the comments seem like people are just riding on the the skyrim bandwagon. I personally like the DA games better and to be honest, i tried oblivion and the slow start killed it for me. the graphics didn't seem that great and the characters looked horrible compared to DA. However, skyrim looks badass.

Well this video clip is missleading graphics wise; They are comparing DA2's CG graphics to Skyrim's real time graphics engine!!! In reality DA2's graphics are mediocre.

You can't really compare the two games because they're both completely different. Where skyrim fails dragon age succeeds and where dragon age fails skyrim succeeds. Both are equally good and addictive games. However games in the elder scrolls series tend to be better than the previous game and i refuse to call dragon age 2 a dragon age game.

@Otobob Well they are different kinds of RPGs alright. DA2 has better storyline and more fleshed out characters. But the graphics engine is well dated (we should not be forgeting the recycled environments as well) and its really linear and too simplistic for my liking. Skyrim is a vast world full of life with gorgeous graphics to explore and great missions. Skyrim and Witcher 2 are epic DA2 just pales in comparison.

@panathatube If you mean dragon age 2 has a better story line than skyrim i will have to disagree. The entire story line of the game seemed like me kissing everyones bum and trying to make money. Skyrim's and dragon age origins story line seemed like a civic duty, If you're comparing the story line of dragon age 2 to dragon age origins i need to ask you how does siding with the templars/mages become a better plot then destroying a demonic evil and saving the world.

@Otobob P.S Only one of the characters in dragon age 2 were interesting and that was varric. The rest were annoying and never stopped complaining about how there lives are crap. However the combat in the game was greatly improved. However dragon age 2 is more like a mass effect dlc were commander shepherd goes back in time and becomes hawke and the story line is set around the time of a dragon age game.

Both are not the best games of their series.DA2 is worse than DAO and Skyrim a lot worse than Morrowind and Oblivion.Between them I cant say I prefer one,DA2 has got better plot and dialogues,while Skyrim a better designed less "repeatable" enviroment.None of them is bad,but neither great.I think I enjoyed DA2 more

DA2: This version of the saga isnt what every one expected, because maybe the fighting and graphics are superior than DAO, but it doesnt have the customization that DAO has and isnt more expansive.
Skyrim: Its simply a freakyn awesome game that it cannot be compared with DA2, but it could be compared with DAO, but it wouldnt be even because the freedom that skyrim or Elder Scrolls gives on their games cant be compared with other RPG

DA:2 was nothing compared to Origins, or it's own trailer.
Skyrim on the otherhand? Looks just like the trailer. Hell the trailer is pretty much gameplay on ultra settings, with some slightly different animations. Seriously. And the story is infinitely better than Dragon Age, and ths is coming from someone who LOVED Origins. But if you look at the Lore of TES, and I don't mean just the games, the entire series. It's about 10x the size of Origins and 100x deeper. And gets confusing, too.

Dragon is just a bunch of flashy trailer and then the game ends up being shit. Skyrim trailers are not cinematic, they show the in game graphics and gameplay, Besides an elder scrolls game come out about every 5 years and they destroy all other video game competition lol

Skyrim eats Dragon age's face off, without doubt it will be RPG of the year. That includes flogging Dark souls, Mass effect 3. It's not a repetitive thing, every character has in depth story behind them, mini quest. so detailed if you were to kill a shop keeper their heir would take the shop and hate you. No game could compare to Elder scrolls, whether it be Arena, Oblivion etc. Skyrim has the whole package, get used to it you bioware fangirls. :) Bethesda > Bioware

I think that dragons look just a bit more alive in Skyrim, the movement, their way of combat and all that. And TES does have a very open world, combined with a much smoother gameplay system than in Oblivion. The best thing about both DA and Mass Effect is the story, which is very movielike, and perhaps contributes to making the game feel more linear. My vote would be with Bethesda, but both DA and Mass Effect are worth playing.
