  • holy shit, what a video. i cant think of any video being more metal than that. (and no, that isnt an invitation to argue about genres, i dont care what genre you call isis)

  • I have totally taken this band for granted. Every moment I get to listen to them in life makes it worth living!

  • Poetry..

  • porcupine tree, the distorted sanity, indukti, dianoya

  • This song reminds me of Tool.

  • Great clip and an amazing band, thanks for posting.

  • I'm going to miss ISIS more then any band ... Especially after such a strong group of releases.

  • R.I.P thanks for the ride.. :(

  • R.I.P.. Its been one hell of a ride...

  • Thank you so much Chris for introducing me to these guys. Immense!

  • 3:44 to 3:59 is amazing sound!

  • @Dodofil1 without this passage the song would have been dull i think... i love this song but only because of this riff. And i hate how the song ends. A half accomplished work in my opinion, though i often come back and listen to it.

  • the point to life is to discover new things if you just stick to one thing in your life you dont evolve same goes for music

  • LOVE IT thanx for uppload

  • He was patient... slow descent chills the bones... his wait may be long, still he carries on...

Always reaching for her, always breathing for her... lifting his head to the sky... slow change might bring holy tears - upon his battered skull.

This song... just echoes. It's on a higher level than 99.999% of other music.

  • Yeah, I wouldn't describe it as mysterious, but I know what you mean. Isis goes way deeper than most bands. Almost all music is stuck at the happy/sad/angry/love level, and it's so horribly shallow compared to this stuff.

  • So true, it took me ages to realize how much more simplier music is, a person shouldn't have to think about anything when hes listening to music.

Then you get people who try to dictate to you how to feel and think about them..thats the bullshit that wont survive anything... not even a fuckin world war lol

  • Fuckin Dopeness

  • Wtf..chris cornell..audioslave..

How about Isis and that amazing song/video

  • Damn. I'm speechless.

  • holy fucking shit! all i can say really

  • Did Adam Jones have anything to do with the production of this video the art style and direction is very similar to his work. good band though just everything flows almost perfectly

  • I saw these guys on the 11th of June and they were just incredible to say the least. Pelican was amazing also. Kudos..

  • All hail ISIS, HAIL!!!

  • As a musician i can say that Audioslave suck balls... but hey who am i to say? This video is awesome, this band frucken rule, all hail...stone.

  • a gorgeous piece of art.........

  • Long both they stood in the suns yellow stare....

the begining of the clip reminds me of the images described in the oceanic.... Maybe because isis seem to be obsesed with some certain meanings and ideas...

btw i dont think that they need clips.. let the music flow

  • Very curious how they pulled this off?

  • creepy the end ... nice :)

  • que satanico el final.. parece que le fuera a explotar el rostro a ese hombre prrrff!!

  • this is a hard core video, the face melting into the concrete is brutal. in my opinion a parallel can be drawn between isis and the tool aesthetic. they also share a similar musical attitude

  • мощно, только после просмотра жить расхотелось

  • personally i prefer the 7 minute version of this song. as for tool and isis, i think that both bands have similarities but in the end they are two great bands with very different styles. also, isis supported tool on their 10 000 days tour, so i think that's where some of the comparisons may have come from

  • Tool's guitarist played on some of Isis' Wavering Radiant, too.

  • i like tool and isis. who cares? both are great bands

  • This is a savage Video. Music totally like Defines it lol. Best song so far. From waht ive heard from isis.

  • How can anyone say Isis wasn't influenced by Tool? It's almost laughable!

  • Their primary influence is Neurosis.

Whatever Tool influences contribute (and they are there) is overshadowed by how obviously they take Neurosis' repetitive, doom-trance vibe and give it the post-rock treatment.

    Regardless, Isis is totally sweet.

  • Theres a bit of Tool infulence in the Vocals. The Clean Vocals. Well thats what i see.

  • surprised u know about clean vocals... you like cannibal corpse lol!

  • Well I know my Music.....so thats why.

  • I really hate how people who listen to heavy music get put into this box where they supposedly only listen to music if it screams..

Haha. Just because I have on Necrophagist or Opeth doesn't mean I can't turn around and listen to stuff like Tool and Isis, or Incubus and Audioslave. ;]

  • You listen to Audioslave?!

I wouldn't make jokes like that on the internet, someone might take you seriously.

  • Um... yeah.

    Dude, that's a solid band.

Chris Cornell can sing like a beast.

Morello can tear it up too, I like how solid the bass

lines are as well. As a musician I can without a doubt say that is a solid band.

  • That's a pretty solid defense, and I solidly respect and agree with your statement...solid

  • Dude, don't knock Chris Cornell.

  • chris cornell CAN sing like a beast. but he's a terrible performer, a bad song writer, and from what i hear an A*hole. so as long as he has an incredible supporting cast...

but audioslave isnt terrible. if badmotorfinger and rage against the machine never existed i would consider them "solid". but man what a poor excuse of a bandaid to amputation that was Zack leaving rage against the machine.

  • I am a huge tool fan and i find much similarity in both vocals and instrumentals here. Alot like tool but much more melodic.

  • ISIS is awesome.

ISIS and tool have nothing to do with each other or their music. 2 different metal gengre and sounds. its like comparing lemons and squash!

ISIS last cd wasnt their best one but i like it anyway.

  • The ending of this video is really awesome. I kind plays with the thought of seeing allot of gore, but suprises the viewer by showing something... different.

    Nice effect.

  • Tool's latest album blew, and this is the only good song on ITAOT. Before this album, Isis was a a much better band, imo. But, this is coming from a dude who thinks Lateralus is still the best thing Tool has done, by far.

  • to this day, i'm still pissed i missed isis open for tool last year because of friggin traffic on the pike.. awesome video.

  • Yeah, i had VIP seats to that show (at the Molson Amp) Isis threw an incredible set.

  • great video. wish they hadn't edited the song for time though. easily one of the best bands of this generation.

  • if you guys like Tool and Isis your gonna love Alcest look at video response. :P

  • yeah,no comparison..Tool is far more intelectual as far as the art rock goes and evokes more of a spiritual awakening in their listeners!this is great for expressing the utter hoplessness and rage against the world that leads you to want a spiritual awakening!both bands are great but appeal to 2 seperate levels of human emotion, fight or flight!Tool is more of a fight to change this shit world and Isis is more like giving up because it's a shit world!Tool=stimulant/Isis=depressant/both=drugs :D!!

  • Obviously you are a very casual Isis listener.

  • the 'casual listener comment' was supposed to be a reply to tSIXe666

  • i'm sorry if i bruised your lil ego about Isis,it wasn't meant in disrespect of the band by no means but if you feel they are even comparable to Tool, you must be a"casual Tool listener",whatever that may mean?pscht!do not allow your ego to paint you as simple, because your mediocre comment does!besides,to appreciate either you must appreciate both because they are cut from the same cloth and worn by the same pre-emo/goth freaks that are influenced by this art!art is subjective, get over yourself!!

  • Okay so if music is subjective than you can understand how I would object to your OBJECTIVE statement above. Way to contradict yourself. Oh, and just because you learned about the 'ego' from lateralus doesn't mean you sound enlightened when you try to preach about it. Chill bro. Seems you had your ego bruised. And speaking OBJECTIVELY I will STATE that Isis is not about 'giving up'.

  • oops, under a friends account, that wasn't from Pip31061 so don't send him hate mail too!!but seriously, who cruises the comments section just to voice messages of negativety?are you surprised that you provoked a negative response?seriously, think about the way you choose to express yourself because it is your energetic impact in this world!it will allign your fate to negative outcomes, for eternity!!please tell me that you don't believe that this is all there is!?!it can get much worse, you insure it

  • ugh now i gotta go buy more albums u.u

  • i agree Tool and Isis being the best at what they do.

    But not similar.

  • exactly better to have two great bands that know how to fucking rock. instead of two band that sound exactly alike. that is the problem with a lot of the music lately it all seems to blend together no diversity.

  • Holy shit.... fucking awesome....

  • this song is amazing

  • Please don't compare these guys to Tool... please. Its really annoying. They are two completely different bands, both good, but both completely different.

  • they both play music.

  • ZING!

  • greeeeeeeat video!!!! good song...

  • wow

  • great art direction

  • the video was directed by Dominic Hailstone, the dude who did "Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone". its in the album credits. also, wallcouldtalk was right. it's charley turner credited with the guest vocals. supposedly he's aaron turner's (the main vocalist) brother.

    311? really people? wow.

  • not sure I'm the biggest fan of the new sound, but I have to admit, the video is really great.

  • Charlie Turner, you morons, not Nick.

  • "nick from 311 is the guest singer on this track"

    hahahaha what

  • The middle of the video had wayyyyyy too much Adam Jone's style shooting, but all in all, not a bad video, but not great either. I love Isis and respect them like crazy, but the tone of originality was definitly lacking here.

  • man. seriously. this video. christ.

  • "listen to ItAoT then listen to the Mosquito Control EP and tell me it's the same band."

bands evolve, dumbass. listen to tool's opiate ep and then 10,000 days, and tell me they're not the same.

  • i totally agree with you

but is it really true they had another singer??

  • That was a badass video! I saw Isis with Tool a couple years ago. Great Show!

  • FUCKING HELL YEAH, what a great band

  • oh my fuckig god

  • Hm... some parts are a lot like Tool's videos, which is good. Great song, and great video...

  • is it said who's the director?

  • A man named Dominic Hailstone.

  • wow indid, i still cant belive that thay actually showed a body geting smashed down to the ground... i wander which chanel is going to show this video..

  • none . because i dont't think they indented for this video to be promotional or easy to the eye or cool. they had a story in their mind and the video was the means through which they give us a glimpse of what the song and the feeling of the song is about . it might be raw and intense but it's a form of expression and balance you have the embryo which is so peaceful and safe image. anyway Isis did it again and blew our minds.

  • I wonder if it's realistic - the smashing of the body...

Anyway they really did blow my mind. Initially, the song, which sounds like a f*ckin sob - and then I saw the video. Well, what a glimpse!!

  • He was patient Slow descent, chills the bones His wait maybe long Still he carries on Always reaching for her Always breathing for her Lifting his hand to the sky Slow change might bring Holy tears Upon his battered skull Holy tears Holy tears He won't take the privilege To know the crown It's taken litarly from the lyrics.
  • their best yet. especially at about 2mins breakdown almost Pink Floyd.

  • my favourite band. But the video is disgusting

  • Its the same band.

Just moved on, because a band needs to evolve and change, otherwise they are just repeating themselves

  • It is the same band, very much evolved. Both eras are awesome.

  • OMG it's so Fantastic but it's disgusting too!

    I love them ^^

  • wow
