  • @supaaathlete how can you say that? By far the dumbest thing I've ever heard about a disability. You think all people without limbs are amazing? Many give up on life. Robles didn't. That's why he has his style, his strength, that's why he's so good. Because he overcame adversity. I'm pretty sure losing a leg isn't something you walk off.

  • he has such an unfair advantage on his opponents. the way he sets up makes it impossible to shoot on him, his upper body is insanely strong for 125s and wrestling his is an entire different style of wrestling. his opponents have only a short amount of time to adjust to this where he's been wrestling like it his whole life. his disability helps him, it doesn't hurt him at all.

  • a lot of people think its bad that he can tilt guys so easy, you got to think he has the upper body of a 140-150 lb guy but makes 125 because weight of muscles in what would have been in his other leg

  • The nicest and most humble kid you'll ever meet! A class act all the way.

  • I'd hate to wrestle him, you win you beat a 1 legged guy, you lose, you lose to a 1 legged guy. There's no win in it.

  • Robles has a lightning fast shot Theres just no defense to that!

  • FTW! Im going to practice tomorrow and take shots like there is no tomorrow!

  • Do you guys think he's a leg rider? ;D lol jk I admire his strength and courage in the sport.

  • Didnt notice 'til 3 minutes in that he was missing something.... a leg!

  • 3 min in the video, realized the black dude has one leg

  • my god is he fast

  • My hero!

  • TILT CLINIC

  • Anthony Robles has the upperbody of a 190lber, he is 6" off the ground when he shoots, he shoots without a setup and overpower 125lbers b/c he's just so strong and his body's center of gravit is about at his chest. This is a case where a seeming disadvantage, ends up being a freakish advantage. I take my hat off to him for having the guts to try wrestling and being good at it, but in this case that's it. He has an unfair advantage against his competition.

  • this is just one example what humans can do

  • u add the leg and he's at 154

  • @coachgower1 157*

  • Anthony wins because he does what wrestlers do...

    1. Train until you're as strong and fast as can be

    2. Make your opponent play your game

He really can't be shot on so he gets them to come at him at ground level where surprise surprise he is stronger, quicker, more adept than them. Bravo good sir

  • well o fcourse he has that upper body strength ... he does 300 pull ups in minutes

  • $20 says he squats more than everybody that commented on this...

  • the black singlet guy is failing he is putting his head on the mat and not getting up on his base!!!

  • Not a big fan of Iowa wrestling. But I didn,t think this was a fare match. The guy has less area you can hang on to.And he,s got the upperbody of a 174 pounder.Too much power for a small 125 pounder.

  • not to take anything away from an incredible wrestler, but I hate how when this happened all the news stations acted like it was a miracle that he won with only one leg. It allows him to have more muscle in his upper body, as well as making him nearly impossible to take down.

  • i was there robles is mcnasty

  • wats that move called at 1;35 dudes bad af mad props Ant

  • ES UNA SERPIENTE....

  • you think for being there for 4 years they would of made a custom singlet for him great tilts

  • Does he get half price on his shoes then?

  • Yes i <3 tilts

  • anyone know how he conditions?

  • I think there something wrong with your video camera. Cause the wrestler in yellow has only one leg showing up.

  • @Friendlynice u 1 dumb ass bitch and i hope u die u tryna b funny bitch

  • @Headbusta201 No I am serious.. Are you blind or something or is it the camera.. But I swear I see that dude in yellow with one leg.. I think something is wrong with the camera or something.

  • @Friendlynice lmao you're a fagoot, your not funny and u look like a fucking douchebag, yes the man only has 1 leg, now go fuck yourself

  • why does football get all the credit, wrestling is the hardest sport

  • @RiiPPin lololololololololololololol

  • well I thought it was good until 5:36

  • its gay how people watch wwe when its fake but they dont watch this and its real wtf .... thumbs up if u agree

  • @pilinnnena a tv is fake, and a bird is real, but id rather watch tv then a bird all day. w/e is entertaining.

  • @pilinnnena cus people rather watch fake gay porn than real gay porn

  • @pilinnnena the reason why people watch WWE is because of the entertainment part of it. I don't watch it as a sport, i watch it as a Television show. Hell i think this is soo boring but atleast im not ignorant and understand why people like this.

  • @pilinnnena this is boring wwe isnt

  • the reason he is so good with tilts is because hes got the strength of a god damn bear!

  • only 1 leg to grab on to, THATS NOT FAIR!

  • @TheIncredibleKrunk It is way more then fair, you dont know how hard it is to wrestle with out a leg!

  • i didnt even notice he only has 1 leg

  • Very nice, I gave ya thumbs up. Please come check out my page I have a wrestling video highlight posted from way back in the day when I was in high school (2000) yah I am a dinosaur. If you like please give me a thumbs up too :)

    Thanks!!

  • @midvalleycs yes they do have more leverage, but they dont have the impossible to match upper body strength, and the unbreakable grip. That is a move he has been hitting for years. With his 300+ bench press, 100 pullups in two minutes, and hand strength from crutches and crawling on the ground, that move is simply designed for him in all seriousness. Awesome wrestler that made a huge setback a gift, and something inspirational. I love watching him wrestle.

  • This foo is fast ass fuck!

  • I went to a camp and Anthony was one of the guest coaches and he showed us his tilts, and I love them now.

  • Ok having one leg can never be an advange its his grip and strength from being on his cruches* all day and his hard work his puts in think I spelled that wrong but having one leg throws off balance and everything

  • the thing is the guy with one leg is probably alot stronger then any of the other wrestles because the fact he has only one leg so honestly he might have a slight advantage due to his strength. If he had both legs hed be in a higher weight class against stronger wrestlers. but yes he is a great wrestler for making it as far as he has

  • Guy was an idiot. I would have went the no-mercy route and gator-rolled his shit to the side with no leg.

  • anthony robles is a beast i like his style go in slow pin fast i wish he had two legs

  • Anthony Robles shows perfect examples of how to do tilts....His tilts are some of the best I ever seen

  • @TapoutKing9 - best comment out of this whole thread! Interesting that guys with two legs don't try tilts more often seems like you would have more leverage

  • @midvalleycs I'm not trying to take anything away from the man, buit he has the upper body of a 157 at the least. his arm strength makes up for it alot

  • @midvalleycs What is a tilt? i am sorry, i am a bit ignorant about wrestling, i am more of a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu guy but i still love to sit and appreciate a good wrestling match. Good grappling is good grappling, no matter the art.

  • @midvalleycs perfect executed tilts :) but actually the guy with 1 leg has an advantage because he has 1 leg which is his left but if he right leg was there for a oppenet to grab and tuck in. he wuldnt be able to do his tilt. js

  • @TapoutKing9 Robles is at an advantage with only one leg.. nothing to grab!

  • @blkchk 4 this kid has a great story and it is great to see him be successful and all but there is a huge advantage. they say he has an upper body of a two hundred pounder when he is wrestling at 125. not taking anything away from him its still impressive but it is defiantely at advantage

  • one leg is cheating

  • he has about twice the upper body and only one leg opponents can grab on too

  • he haas the upper body of a 189 lber

  • This World Is Full Off Haters -Looser's and People Who Cant Achieve Any Thing-

are Very Jealous Of Other People . What Ever Looser's may Say - Anthony Is Champion

in Every Way. No Body Can Take it From Him.........

  • Bullshit that robles kid is a cheater he would easily be a 157 pounder if he had both legs! Hes like 5x stronger than kids in his weight class thats cheating!!

  • This guy probably worked his ass off to be where he is now and yet you people still find ways to criticize him and find only the negatives..what a disgrace

  • sumone tell me that they dont look like cats

    .

  • i just read a quote i really like about anothony robles... "having one leg wasn't an advantage when he was losing."

  • One leg is cheating, it totally eliminates the high crotch and the double leg shot. And a single leg is out of question because all the weight would be on one leg.

  • this guy is an inspiration

  • The one leg guy has another advantage in that all his training is against 2 leg guys. He's ready - 100s maybe 1000s of hours of practice. The 2 leg guy has never wrestled a one leg guy before and has to make things up and invent as he goes.

  • @smci1000 you believe that only because he does.

  • @smci1000 You don't know anything about wrestling if you think that. The 125 from Oregon State is experienced enough to know what to do. Anthony Robles Has the strength equal to a wrestler of maybe 190 lbs. And if you think Anthony has a greater advantage over someone with two legs, Your very wrong.

  • dude fuck this kid. many wrestler wrestle off in a 4 point stance and he can use his stub. which gives him an advantage against leg riding and being shot upon. The weight he is missing form tht leg gives him the ability to lift mainly upper body and which is like a 150 pound guy wrestling a 125 pound guy.

  • damn that niqqa knows how 2 tilt

  • very proud of him...really show disabled people can do anything

  • If he an do it anyone can

  • In my opinion having one leg is an advantage. You can have more muscle at a lower weight class which in my opinion makes you stronger. Look at the muscle difference between these two guys.

  • He looks like a 171 wrestling 125

  • I had a friend who had no leg and said all the steroids they give you are a definite advantage. He wasn't aloud to stall so much though that's also an advantage.

  • right off the start he drives up the sprawl and goes for the iranian

  • i wonder how much would he weigh if he had 2 legs

  • @KennyBooNenny1

Dude, it's over. If you were the one wrestling Robles, you'd be pissed. Not dissing him, he's an amazing wrestler.

  • He strikes so fast with just one leg. He reminds me of a snake.

  • i think anthony has more advantages than disadvangtages...but this is stil sick

  • I want to see how in the hell he conditions. I suck at conditioning with two legs. Can't imagine it with one.

  • Of course the guy is good and dedicated and all that. He went undefeated. The reality is though that he never leaves his knee. He's minimized the disadvantage of having only one leg by never standing up. In trade off, he's wrestling down 40lbs (the weight of a leg) and just dominates his smaller opponents. I don't care how great a person's balance and skill and technique is, if that person is a 40lbs less than someone who also has a similar skill set it's a guaranteed win every time.

  • @picassothedream1 you couldnt beat him on his feet

  • @picassothedream1 Understand that he's lost matches in the past. He's not a repeat national champ. His "advantage" is that he works harder than everyone else.

  • bravo lui :D

  • I dont take anything away from robles. yes he is a 125 lber with the upper body of a 157 or 165 lber but ive seen him train and he works as hard as anyone ive ever seen and he deserves everything he has accomplished with his wrestling career. He has also brought some much needed attention to wrestling and all wrestlers thank him for that

  • Fighting from bottom with two legs is hard enough.

  • He totally changes the whole style of wrestling making his opponent adhear to his rules which he had been wrestling by since a young age thereby winning. He should stay on his toes more though.

  • Needless to say having one leg has as much advantages in wrestling as disadvantages but all I really have to say is that he doesn't stay on his toes enough.

  • I wish only wrestlers can comment on this page...there is three things in wrestling. Strength, Technique, and Balance. Robles has no balance w one leg and had to adapt a new style of wrestling because of his HANDICAP...why are people saying it is now handicap for other because he is stronger...BS. How about you lose a leg and learn to wrestle w one leg...

  • @KennyBooNenny1

Have you wrestled a person with one leg? You don't know how hard it is to wrestle someone that has the strength of a 145 lb kid. I wish only people who think before commenting could comment on this page....

  • @Wrestler1230 yeah i have wrestled people with no leg, arm, and even sometimes they were blind. robles has more disadvantages than advantages, strength is not the key to wrestling...and that is why many greats can wrestle in any weight class and do great in it. robles had to his own orthodox style to make it in this sport...and thats what makes him great... and yeah i am a wrestler i am cif champion and before that 2x runner up, and have a scholarship 2 wrestle at oklahoma

  • Obviously it's an advantage. Give that guy another leg and he's wrestling in a weight class 35-45 lbs heavier. Take any top wrestler and let them wrestle down about 4 weight classes and you think they might have a little advantage?

Just watch any of his matches. He's twice as big and strong as any of his opponents.

  • I know for the average wrestler this would be impossible, but he has had this his whole life (i think) so he is so use to it. It is still amazing at what he can do, but i think he has an advantage if not equal.

    1. Missing leg takes of what like 20 pounds? that 20 pounds now can go to extra muscle the other 125 pounders don't and can't have

    2. You cant do any leg attacks cus he is so low

    3. ppl might not respect his ability and not go full out and they not prepared to wrestle a one leg dud

  • @tylerhoell no they def. wont take it easy on him... its college... and yea hes way to strong it isnt fair. but he has come up with a style that workds so hes the man.

  • @tylerhoell

    1. legs weigh more than that on someone that size

    2. you can get that low with 2 legs, its not that hard, but staying there and wrestling is hard.

    3. in college you DO NOT go easy on someone ever, its a death match out there, i wrestle in college i have wrestled people who have disibilities and i never go easy, college is for people who are serious about wrestling this isnt high school.

  • Advantage or disadvantage for Anthony Robles? thumbs up= advantage: thumbs down= disadvantage.

  • @tmrout3 its both...

  • I don't want to take ANYTHING away from this incredibly impressive person, but it's pretty clear what's going on here. He takes his disadvantage in leg strength away by staying on the ground, and then dominates on the ground with his advantage in upperbody strength. Kudos to him for overcoming his disability to become a champion.

  • congrats to the disabled guy. I'm sorry if that still sounds rude. Can some one tell me if there's any special rules that don't allot them to go on both legs bc if wud be greater advantage for the guy with 2 legs

  • @goat222 there are no rules about that, if you stood straight up he is already so low that he would grab your legs easily, i have always wondered if maybe someone backed up and tried to jump over him what would happen? but in college its all buisness so i doubt someone would try it.

  • national champion. congratulations anthony

  • truly inspirational

  • truly inspriational

  • in a sense though this is an unfair match since a wrestler without a limb is an anomaly; who has mat experience with such a wrestler? tools like an ankle pick, double leg, etc. are useless and a wrestler is forced to fight the skills of a wrestler who has learned to use his disability as an advantage robles is awesome its just that his opponents ARE at a disadvantage

  • @gentedelquintosol12 I don't know anything about wrestling but I do understand that some holds would not be possible against an opponent that has one leg. But isn't that balanced by the fact that the one-legged person has to compensate for a lack of body-weight (his missing leg) but more importantly, a lack of balance and the fact that he has to learn to use/shift his weight differently? Don't know...just asking.

  • @blkchk I was a wrestling champion in HS and went 23-3 my senior year. Missing a fricken LEG is a huge disadvantage, period. Robles got smashed his freshman year in HS and it's only because of his determination and heart that he became a Champion.

  • @timpinckney You are missing the point of my question. I'm not criticizing. Try READING the original question and my answer, which is really a question to HIS objection. The original comment (the other commenter) was that the 2 legged wrestler is at a disadvantage. I asked if a one-legged person isn't at a similar disadvantage. Again, try READING with some comprehension.

  • @blkchk OK Let's look at your question smart guy. "the one-legged person has to compensate for a lack of body-weight (his missing leg) "? It's by WEIGHT CLASS genius. 125lbs on the title of the Video you just saw. Try READING the title of the video.

  • @timpinckney Again, read the original post, my response. One thing is for sure...YOU are not the genius. Read my screen name. I'm a girl. And I have learned not to to have conversations on YouTube with rude people. I didn't say I knew anything about wrestling...I was asking a question, hoping to learn. But you are obviously of the generation that never learned manners. Comment away...you'll be talking to yourself and your emails will be deleted un-opened. Have a good day.

  • @blkchk You're right. I was commenting on your post and the one below at the same time. Sorry about the confusion.

  • @blkchk no, because its natural for him. Hes learned to use it as an advantage throughout his life. If he lost his leg at during his wrestling career, then it would be different.

  • @gentedelquintosol12

College wrestlers should have more moves then that, i do agree with you in that they are partly at a disadvantage. but they should know other moves besides double legs ankle picks, they can also just front head lock people who are on they're knees all the time. wrestlers should just be ready for anything. does that make sense?

  • @JTJUE101 its hard to wrestle at the collegiate level and have all these moves. Most of the moves at the collegiate level do not even work. Wrestlers will only use 1 or 2 moves in their inventory from neutral stance; the ones that they have mastered. Like bubba jenkins super duck. Front head lock does not work at the collegiate level bro...

  • @ILUVJEZUZ94

i get you it's all good. but you kinda contradicted yourself in saying that front head locks don't work in college. "Wrestlers will only use 1 or 2 moves in their inventory from neutral stance; the ones that they have mastered." so what if they have mastered using the front headlock? but don't worry i get you, he does have an advantage but when he started wrestling he probably had the hardest time adjusting, that's what i think is truly amazing about this guy.

  • @gentedelquintosol12: Funny how no one comments on videos complaining about all the advantages that tall basketball players, strong football players, fast soccer players have.....but when a disabled guy has a (debatable) advantage, now that's unfair!

  • @Dankster312 I really didn't think is was that funny...

  • @gentedelquintosol12 how stupid are you? im being serious here, i wrestle in a d1 college i was a hs state champion nd i know how hard it is to do this. wrestling is a death match, there is no fair or unfair, if you weigh the same you fight eachother on the mat there is no disadvantage, you dont think the kids who have to wrestle him study his wrestling? cause they do. they know what they are doing.

  • @satsua First of all, sir, I am currently working on a PhD; I am anyting but stupid. Second of all, I have the right to my opinion without being disrespected. If you can't speak with respect, don't speak to me at all.

  • @gentedelquintosol12 a accept that you have your opinion and i respect that, but i still think that its stupid to assume he has an advantage...... plus a phd does not mean you are smart it just means that you are still in school and learning, you can still be stupid and have as many phds as you want.

  • death grip xD this is what heart discipline and perseverance is all about

  • dude, hope you go all the way you kick ass and i wrestled with my dissabilaty and i hope you could win and show that dissability kids could win nationals

  • Thank you for posting the Pac-10 Finals for this year! Very much appreciated!

  • wrestling needs more publicity

  • @raggin

Obviously it's an advantage. Give that guy another leg and he's wrestling in a weight class 35-45 lbs heavier. Take any top wrestler and let them wrestle down about 4 weight classes and you think they might have a little advantage?

Just watch any of his matches. He's twice as big and strong as any of his opponents.

  • @picassothedream1 i do agree. His upper body is built.

  • @picassothedream1 Now take a leg away from one of those top wrestlers and see how they do. Any advantage he has in strength and grip is matched in disadvantages having only one leg.

  • @raggin yes it does lol anthony robles is my brother and not alot of people knoe him'
